if you need my tastes i like basically anything persona 4 animation(which was incredibly good)
You're right, you do like anything :v:
i have requested many chie satonaka avatars over the past few months by a few other SMT:Persona people as well. both of my linux laptop and desktop partitions also have chie satonaka wallpapers my chrome browser is also persona 4 themed i am addicted to persona 4

You're right, you do like anything :v:
Seriously though, what genres are you looking for?
Hm let's see. Black Lagoon(Think Tarantino and John Woo making an anime about smugglers in the south china sea, in a city that's a melting pot of the strongest mafias in the world) Jormungand(Follows an arms trader of dubious employment styles) Akame Ga Kill! (Think monster hunter mixed with fantasy politics and living weapons, pretty sure George R.R. Martin ghostwrote parts of this) Gunslinger Girl(Near future italy uses augmented orphan girls to fight crime, surprisingly no fanservice with girls of dubious age) Gurren Lagann(Your drill is the drill that will pierce the heavens, post apocalyptic mecha anime, I'm sure you've heard of it) Kill La Kill(Same with this, kinda hard not to have heard at least something about it, after watching gurren lagann and deciding you want more hype, watch this) Space Dandy( Is a dandy guy, in space)
jus watch gurren lagann
I'd strongly recommend watching Gurren Lagann before Kill La kill(Made by the same animation studio), and TTGL starts out a bit slow, but it's so worth it.
action, sci-fi and fantasy i forgot to add ghost in the shell into that and appleseed(watched both 2004 and alpha 2014)
Last Exile [editline]5th May 2015[/editline] Also lagann
action, sci-fi and fantasy i forgot to add ghost in the shell into that and appleseed(watched both 2004 and alpha 2014)
space battleship yamato 2199
action, sci-fi and fantasy i forgot to add ghost in the shell into that and appleseed(watched both 2004 and alpha 2014)
May I take this chance to spread the good word of From The New World / Shin Sekai Yori? It's a dark fantasy/speculative fiction about people with psychic powers. also there's mole people and a few great pieces of music
so i decided to install malupdater since people kept bitching at me to do that it's broken right now why even bother [editline]5th May 2015[/editline]
action, sci-fi and fantasy i forgot to add ghost in the shell into that and appleseed(watched both 2004 and alpha 2014)
Chevalier, Berserk, if you don't mind a slower pace there's my generic offerings of Juuni Kokuki and Seirei no Moribito, Noein, Nijuu Mensou no Musume, Baccano, Durarara, Rage of Bahamut, Garo, and Chaika for recently airing examples, Trigun, Zegapain, Jyu-Oh-Sei, Giant Robo, Tetsujin 28-Gou, Kyousougiga, Casshern Sins, Zeiram The Animation, anything in the OP, and a bunch of stuff I'm forgetting.
How do people organize their anime stuff, like what they are currently watching, want to watch, already watched etc? Like then I have this list of already watched things that I could want to come back to if there is going to be more of it in the future since i probably would never find out unless i randomly see someone post about it in here.. Also how do you keep updated on that kind of stuff too. Like some sort of way to follow news for certain shows i want to hear about
Myanimelist + Malupdater Anilist to know what new shows and sequels are coming Animenewsnetwork for news (because for some reason people care about that)
Alright thanks. Yeah i meant news as in sequels or new shows
Did someone say Gurren Lagann?
i get what the point was but Kamina's shades were still cooler than Simon's
Could anybody give me like, a watching guide for Ghost in the Shell? the MAL page has a million different sequels, prequel, spin-offs, etc. I don't really know where to start.
movies (1995,innocence) , gits sac and 2nd gig
Could anybody give me like, a watching guide for Ghost in the Shell? the MAL page has a million different sequels, prequel, spin-offs, etc. I don't really know where to start.
There are several "timelines" that don't directly connect with each other. The original movie and it's sequel Innocence are one timeline, Standalone complex and it's sequels are another, and Arise is setup as a prequel but it contradicts all the other series so it's a third timeline. The manga is also largely unrelated to the anime, though they share story elements. Watching the 1995 movie first is probably a good idea, though you could start with SAC or Arise and not really have any problems because they all stand alone (don't start with Arise though it's the weakest.)
Spreading the word.
Could anybody give me like, a watching guide for Ghost in the Shell? the MAL page has a million different sequels, prequel, spin-offs, etc. I don't really know where to start.
There are three timelines, for lack of a better term. If it wasn't for the fact that they contradict each other and cover very similar stories the original movies and the series could be the same thing. Ghost in the Shell and the sequel Innocence are the first timeline. Ghost in the Shell is great and you should watch it if even just for the beautiful art. Innocence is a weird sequel/retelling of GiTS from a different character's perspective, some time after the original, it isn't as good but still worth a watch. Stand Alone Complex is the second timeline. The series take place before the time of the original movie. The first series is broken up into Stand Alone episodes, stories and crimes mostly unrelated to the main plot, and Complex episodes which tie together to form the main arc. The second series (2nd Gig) has more two-parter stories and most of the stories tie into the main arc. Solid State Societies is the follow-up movie set after 2nd Gig. The third timeline is GiTS: Arise. Arise is basically fan fiction, it's set earlier than any other GiTS media and has the most advanced technology. It's also a lot shorter than Stand Alone Complex so if you want to crack it out over the weekend it's not hard to do. You must watch Ghost in the Shell, if you like it you might want to watch Innocence. You should Watch Stand Alone Complex, though you'll be in for SAC 2nd Gig and SSS if you do, they're not bad, it's just quite lot to watch. You can ignore Arise if you want, it isn't terrible just not nearly as good as anything that came before it.

I'll start with the first movie, and go from there.
So Grisaia no Rakuen is actually really good...so far. From what I'm hearing there isn't nearly as much story and shit to cram in, and that rushed feeling was one of the biggest reasons Kajitsu was fucking terrible, so it may end up being pretty good if they don't fuck it up. Also :v:
I've actually never really took the time to watch ghost in the shell. Am I missing out?
just started watching Clannad. weird af but i like this
Myanimelist + Malupdater Anilist to know what new shows and sequels are coming Animenewsnetwork for news (because for some reason people care about that)
You spend so much time worrying about weird rules about how to watch anime and how they should be rated, ratings scales and shit like that And you think people who read news about anime are weird?
You spend so much time worrying about weird rules about how to watch anime and how they should be rated, ratings scales and shit like that And you think people who read news about anime are weird?
I'm going to start using Malupdater since I'm getting tired of forgetting what shows I've watched, but there's no way I can be fucked giving those ratings. Malupdater's not working for you nerds as well, right? They should have a "don't watch this", "you should watch this if the premise and genre interest you", "you should probably watch this", and "watch this right now" rating system. In that exact wording.
Malupdater is working fine for me.
Malupdater is working fine for me.
I think it's working now? Wasn't working an hour ago. Hmm.
