Maybe see if you can take it to small claims if you have bank statements or receipts. At least you have a chance at getting some of the money back then. If you don't have receipts you can probably still get whatever the parts are worth now.

I don't understand why parents think they can just destroy shit, whether or not the kid paid for it or they did. That's basically like taking however much money that was worth, shredding it, and flushing it down the toilet.

My computer cost me $1825, and if my parents hammered it to death, I would be incredibly pissed off and make them pay for it.

What gets me (and there's a fuck ton of context to this for me) is when parents think it's cool to be an arse about something, or take something away just because they pay for it. They payed for all the furniture in MY room, they pay for the actual room, the electricity and internet that goes into it and probably most of the clothes in the wardrobe and yet it's still MY room, MY bed, MY clothes not their room, bed and clothes.

The context is that I regularly have to spend time without electricity or internet (and have no internet privacy) because they feel it's reasonable to take that away with VERY minor provocation.

After all the upgrades I've done since I first built my computer for $900, I'm up to $5,000 and if anyone did anything to break it in anyway, I would just go apeshit.

It was bad enough today that i had to go at 6:30, and then have the instructor shout at me because i can't park the car and keep fucking up other things too, i'll have to go tomorrow at 6:30 as well. Couldn't even see my friends tonight or on friday because of this...
At least he stops in front of our house so i don't have to go anywhere to meet him but still.

My dad and the TV once again or the living room in general.

Come home from work and wants to see family but wants to nap in living room at high traffic hours, so we can't talk, watch TV or make noise till he wakes up. When he's up, he watches TV or is on his computer. Where too much noise makes him mad and he has to turn shit up and get pissy.

Then my mom like plays in on this "I get mad at nothing and make big deals out of shit" so he gets mad back, stays angered for the rest of the night and acts passive aggressive, then my mom is mad because of that. So it's just tense all fucking night.

So I try to workout in the living room on the treadclimber soooooo it's gonna be loud, he keeps turning the TV up, eventually stops for awhile and it's fine. Then my sister starts sweeping right as I take my break and he gets pissed because a cord got pulled and knocked stuff of his desk. It only knocked stuff off because the router is tilted and being pulled on because he wont clean his god damned desk of cigarettes and papers.

So I just give up and go to my room, torch what was left of my bowl just to have an effect and what do I hear? Shit slamming in the kitchen cause they're both pissed and just being stupid.

3. Related to two. My parents HATE anime. I'd watch DBZ and Yugioh every morning before going to school or staying up until midnight for Naruto and Gundam.
