Geez man that really sucks. I honestly don't know what to say except maybe that you should try to keep your chin up. I know is easier said than done but I'm definitely sure you will be able to find the motivation to rise above the problem.

Also like RenegadeCop said you might want to put your own happiness on first priority. I know what he's talking about because I myself learned that the hard way one time and I can guarantee you that the only thing that comes from putting others happiness above yours is exhaustion and lots of headaches.

So I uh...explained things to her. It was a rather awkward call that she sort of burst into tears in the middle of, I sung to her a little bit to calm her down and told her to get some sleep.

It's...not that the cutting is used as an abuse thing, she always feels like a burden to people and thinks it better if she disappeared sometimes and there's...many things you could point out as the cause, such as her shitty parents who insult her about petty shit such as make up and always tend to bicker and bitch while still finding it right to take out their anger by yelling at her but I won't get into it.

I've put too much into this relationship to just jump ship. I'm going to do everything in my power to make it work, even if I have to put up with the shitty parts. I love her and I can't stand to lose her now.

Sorry for being a bit off topic. I'm gonna get some sleep and hopefully she'll feel better in the morning.

She's reaching out to you for support while trying to avoid thinking too much about it herself, lest she set off an unpleasant emotional reaction. That being said, having that conversation with her was probably the right thing to do, as it seemed to have gotten you two focusing on the "elephant in the room" she was trying to get you to notice.

Renegade isn't totally wrong; a relationship that you remain attached to, no matter how emotionally draining, or outright emotionally compromising, out of a sense of obligation, isn't a good one. If you stick with her, for better or for worse, do it because you love her, goddamnit, and because you want to, because you choose to; and most importantly, don't ever let yourself forget it. Might help to not let her forget it, either.

We have to get a good number of people to change, but not that many. That's 90% of humanity, and there's a bit more than 10% trying to help, last I checked. We're still not even close to enough people, but to some it's not hopeless. It is for me though, because I'm a pessimist who' ready to just die.
