Happened with my desktop but all I did was installed a new CPU.

Started my PC today and it gave me something about installing apps (like the first time you launch W8. Then my desktop was black with no icons, nothing in the taskbar, nothing autorunning and I couldnt run anything from the shell menu. Had a mini heartattack. Luckily fixed it by copying the desktop from the users folder to the systemprofile folder but still.

Seems to only be with some types of motherboards though because it doesn't always happen.
What the hell, my professor was supposed to have some readings up for us to have read before class today. Last night they weren't up, and I was up until 3am. Now here I am looking at the shit he just put up and I have class in a few hours. No email, no nothing, they are just there now. I'm baffled by this.

My sister whom makes money by producing painted artwork and various things like that is being manipulated by some stupid witch from the local town council She wants my sister to paint a massive mural of a Lancaster bomber flying over countryside on a seawall, and I'm talking a metres long thing that'll take weeks or months to finish. No monetary reward whatsoever, she would have to fork out for public liability insurance out of her own pocket and pay for the fuel it takes to travel back and forth to paint it. Unfortunately my sister decided to talk with the person organising it, the aforementioned witch After hearing just how shit the offer is she expresses disinterest but this person has her picture put in the local newspaper, announcing she's going to work on the mural. She calls every few days about the blasted thing and tries to guilt trip my sister by saying she's going on holiday next week and she'd like something to done about it, that she even "cried" last week because noone was doing anything about it So I talked to my sister and told her multiple times what a manipulative witch she is, but she still thinks she is nice person and won't put her foot down about it.

My parents went on a three days trip on sunday and left me and my sister at home alone My sister decided (with the blessing of my parents, that goes without saying) to make her boyfriend come staying here for something like 36 hours straight Of course, since the princess doesn't want to do jackshit once her ass hits the couch and she starts watching TV, I have to do everything around the house (closing doors and windows for the night, answering the phone and the door and the kind) The guy himself isn't bad per se, but I really don't like him being invited here every chance my sister gets and for an undefined amount of time (notice that my parents are often hostile about my friends coming here to do some tabletop games sessions or something for just an evening every once in a while). It also doesn't help that I'm studying for an exam due on thursday, so I could really do without who is effectively a stranger occupying my house Some minutes ago I send a message to my mom via Whatsup, whining about the whole thing. I've also added up, however, that of course they wouldn't had given a single shit about this objection of mine, so she could as well forgot I said anything Her answer? I ordered a package with my own money, and I'm waiting for it to come in today, but I'm really anxious that I won't get to the mail first because my parents wouldn't let me if I had asked, so I went ahead, and ordered it anyways without asking. It was my own money though, so they shouldn't give a shit, and it isn't even fair that I'm told what, and what not to buy. The worst of it seems to have passed for now, but it's worth mentioning what specifically that was a picture of for those who might not know: The picture I posted was of a wall cloud, which tornadoes are usually birthed from. Fortunately, it seems to be gone now.
