Trying to talk to someone on Steam when it decides to shit itself and lose connection. ffs
That's a superb idea. I'm gonna buy some laxatives for next time.
Don't do too much, you can really hurt yourself. And not poop. Just sit there with a bellyache that feels super super shitty but no shit.
Just bought a lanyard and an SD card off of Amazon The lanyard didn't exactly look like the one in the picture, but it was close enough so it didn't bother me as much. The SD card, however, was a fake! I dumped like $17 on it only to realize that it's not really 32 GB, and it was made in Taiwan (Samsung 32GB Class 10 Evo). Trying to get a refund here, but c'mon dude, really? Why would you counterfeit a fucking SD card...?

when someone invariably plays devils advocate ALL THE TIME like you can't complain about stuff that any rational human being would complain about without getting some argument in return. Shut the fuck up I don't want to debate i just want to bitch about how much of an ass stain [person] was for doing [action]

DisplayPort. I don't care how useful it is, until monitors start selling with them for a decent price, don't make it the majority of the damn ports on a GPU.
There's most likely a reason for it but why the fuck can't cards nowadays have 2 HDMI ports? instead of one? I have more HDMI cable than DVI or displayport for that matter.
There's most likely a reason for it but why the fuck can't cards nowadays have 2 HDMI ports? instead of one? Neither of my monitors is HDMI, both are DVI, and my TV is HDMI so I was fucked until I shelled out for an adapter.

Because DisplayPort is cheaper, it has a royalty rate of $0.20 per unit while HDMI charges an annual fee of $10,000 to each high-volume(Sony, Nvidia, AMD, etc) manufacturer as well as a per unit royalty rate between $0.04 to $0.15.

Fuck you I got a credit, i want to buy something with my card. NO YOU HAVE TO USE YOUR FUNDS. Fine fuck your shit i'll just change a few things and pay outside the system. SORRY YOU CANNOT CHANGE INFORMATION WHILE FUNDS ARE PENDING. jawohl mein führer.
Being resident of planet earth but still hated by skin colour or nation.
Firefox is crashing when ever it feels like thanks to the recent update. Trying to enable flash again just makes it 10x more likely. Fuck this shit.

I get a tad peeved when someone stops right in front of me while I'm in a rush. Whether it's in a hallway or on the sidewalk. Please, step to the side if you're going to stop so suddenly.
Getting this video every week from my friends.... Gets pretty annoying.
This shouldn't bug me as much as it should - but here we go. I'm a WWI buff, a lot of what I read and collect has to do with WWI. What I absolutely HATE is seeing people regurgitate the watered down Hollywood/Middle School version of the war as fact. Yes the war was shit, BUT, it was not in the ways many seem to enjoy claiming. For example, troops weren't just thrown at the Firing Line (Foremost Trench for the British) and left there to rot for months on end, British troops spent roughly 15% of their time there, with 10% in the Support Trench behind that, 30% in the reserve trench behind that, and than finally about 45% of their time behind the lines out of the trenches. It wasn't all that different for other nations as well. I think the French rotated on a weekly basis, 7 days in each trench line with 7 days of leave (don't quote me on that one). Not to mention that daily life in the Trenches was fairly routine and boring, at least for a war's standard. This was the average day in a British Trench. "Morning Hate" refers to when they just sorta fired in general at the direction of the enemy. During the daily chores, a soldier did everything from sleep to keeping up the trench. Quoting Dan Snow here
most battalions rarely spent more than five days a month in the line of fire.
The rest of their time was spent everywhere else. This was similar in all other armies of the war. [t]http://a.files.bbci.co.uk/bam/live/content/zcxjpv4/large[/t] While yes, there were days of great violence and death such as the first day of the Somme, the reality is that over the course of the entire war only 22% of British troops were killed. Obviously not all of those killed were unscathed, but they were alive. Not to mention people's misconceptions about the tactics of the war - by 1915/1916 all armies were practicing in the field Platoon, Half Platoon, and Squad tactics, and by 1917 they had all undergone major reorganization. Quoting Don_Durandal from Steam who has done far more reading on the subject than I have.
Squad tactics began being developed in early 1915 (not the end of the war) by the creation of specialised grenadier squads. We can see that in all armies of the period ("bombers" for the British, "штурмовые взводы" or "взводы гренадер" for the Russians, etc..). The first widescale reorganisation was by the French army in April 1916 (once again, not really the end of the war) with the adoption as the platoon, half-platoon and squad as the basic infantry organisation. This was partly motivated by the introduction of the Chauchat machine-rifle and rifle grenades, which allowed (and necessitated) the platoon to operate as an independent fire unit. (note that while the official reorganisation was in April 1916, this was actually the codification of practices already implemented in the field by that time) The British followed suit in Fall 1916 and the Germans in 1917 (though once again, this was actually preceded by field practice developed at Verdun and on the Somme). Low-level infantry tactics were already very advanced at that point. The February 1917 pamphlet "Instructions for the Training of Platoons in Offensive Action" issued to the whole BEF describes fire & movement manoeuvres that are still in usage to this day (and which were successfully applied by the Canadians at Vimy), with suppression from Lewis Guns and Rifle Grenades, and movement from the rifle and bomber squads. Likewise the 1917 manual "Manuel du chef de section d'infanterie" describes tactics to use in a variety of situations, fully expecting a platoon to fend off on its own when assaulting an enemy position. Large engagements were fought at any size from the squad to an whole army group. Actual reading, from memoirs to studies, will show you that. Once infantry was in the enemy line (which by 1917 had become pretty easy with the development of the creeping barrage), platoon tactics were the defining feature of combat. you need to get rid of your stereotype of massed bayonet charges against machine guns. That's not how the whole war was fought.
Not to mention that the entire war was not fought on the Western Front and other front were far more mobile (looking at you Caucasian Front)
I both burned and undercooked cookies. Great. My cooking skills have plummeted. At least I had enough good ones left to give to my bf and coworkers. I hope my dad will still eat the burned ones.
"How's your day going?" "Oh, it's going ok." "Just ok?" YES JUST OK. I haven't saved anyone from drowning, I got my pants on right, a bird hasn't shit on me yet, the sun is still rising, and I am still breathing. My day is going just ok.
