Quake 4 Stroggification scene Man, fuck this scene. I still get shivers when watching that.
Silent Hill 4 was fucking creepy. I mean those babies on the wall and that doublehead thing with two giant arms. And hospital level was fucked up too:
Reminds me of Speaking of distrubing games... System Shock 2.
The last level of Condemned [sp]With the serial killer house[/sp] Had some serious Silence of the Lambs vibes.
That one level in Hotline Miami with bombs stuck to a dude and rigged to a door, so that whenever you open the door, the bomb explodes in the most ear-destroying manner, leaving this in the room: [t]http://cloud-4.steampowered.com/ugc/866080546880887194/17EC7ED18827DCF98631E0022A5F2640C7FCC5CB/[/t]
i'm not sure if there is any Metal Arms: Glitch In The System fans on Facepunch but the Zombie bots in that game made me shit my pants
Wolfenstien: The New Order had some fucked up scenes that disturbed me.
Fuck man, I was thinking about what scenes that were pretty gruesome in that. Then I remembered [sp]the robot you fight near the end which has the brain of the guy you chose to die in the beginning. I chose the kid at the beginning, and holy fuck did i feel bad. [/sp]

Manhunt 2 when I smoked, it would makes me feel gross and icky...because I could feel the game a lot more. Especially this cutscene made me feel really sick in the head....not really at the fact that she's getting strangled but that EXTREMELY INTENSE sound that gets faster and faster and I could literally feel the buildup.
Halo 1, mostly due to the Flood but also some other things. I was like 5-6 when i first played it.
There's some fucked up parts in Homefront, now that I think about it.
Dead space was probably the first horror game I played, that definitely unnerved me. Not particularly the action sequences, but the constant paranoia around those goddamn vents.
When I was really young (like 6 or 7) my copy of Super Mario on the Nintendo 64 became glitched due to dust buildup or something, a lot of the music stopped playing and some of the textures were becoming scrambled. I don't know why that scared me so badly at the time.
Metroid Prime 2 had a few moments but Dark Aether in general made me want to rush to the exit as soon as I could every time. The music becomes twisted versions of the light themes, you are constantly hurt while outside of a few bubbles until you get the light suit, all of the enemies are creepy looking. You could say they had done too good of a job at making the place feel unnerving because i just hated having to go through the dark zones when I was a kid.
There's also some scary shit in the first Bioshock game that's ruffled me up. You want the shotgun in the first game? By all means grab it, have fun with the shit that ensues afterwards.
Don't know why, but the whole concept of shadows and dreams being interconnected sorta stuck with me.
This game was strange as a whole.
Zombie Pirates made me not want to play Rayman at all.
shit, yeah, and the cave of bad dreams spooked me when I was younger, especially near the end of it when it had the camera inside jano's mouth where he chased you and would eat you if you fucked up
Return to Castle Wolfenstein, the first mission in the dungeons and the castle was scary. Farcry, the first mission with a lot of Japanese corpses scared me too.
You know you can just [sp]shoot in the air and the people will run away[/sp], right
Oh...... NOW I FEEL EVEN WORSE
Oh...... NOW I FEEL EVEN WORSE
I hope you also know that when doing the [sp]shoot your reflection in the mirror ending, you don't need to kill your own guys at the end, if you wait a bit a prompt to drop your gun will appear[/sp]
I couldn't even get through PT, mainly because of the atmosphere alone. You know a horror game succeeds when it's that scary. Also, any game that has a scene with needles going into a person's body, especially the eyes.
Only game that comes immediately to mind, is Manhunt. Such a strange feeling playing that. Def a dark, scary game.
Afraid of Monsters, the HL1 mod. The way the "zombies" moved creeped me out. System Shock 2 when I first played it. The hybrids saying "I'm sorry" in their distorted voices as they swing a pipe at you, or say "join us!" as they charge at you down a hallway Then, there's the cyborg midwives Generally System Shock 2 nailed the whole getting under your skin thing, but I'm desensitised to that sort of thing now.
You know you can just [sp]shoot in the air and the people will run away[/sp], right
You can also [sp]pistol-whip them[/sp]; it has the same effect.
I think this was one of my first rawer games I played as a kid, I remember being so obsessed with it but also really anxious and almost scared to play it sometimes.
I watched an IRL friend play it and i always got a little scared whenever i saw the game over screen.
Silent Hill 4 was fucking creepy. I mean those babies on the wall and that doublehead thing with two giant arms. And hospital level was fucked up too:
That image is the most fucked up thing in this topic so far for me, mostly because I have a LOT of nightmares about giant heads/faces.
not really disturbing but red dead redemption bummed me out a lot, not because i thought it was bad but i really liked the story. speaking of rdr that one sidequest with the implied otherworldly being that [sp]foreshadows the protagonists death[/sp] unsettled me a bit.
