A kid I knew wanted to take a phrase and "up it" somehow. So instead of saying "In your face" he would say "In your eye". Let's just say that didn't catch on. This kid also quoted Rocket Power non-stop.
I was in a history class one day, daydreaming, not really paying attention, when the teacher suddenly asked me what causes night vision. I was so taken aback by being asked a seemingly nonsensical question (remember: history class) and the only thing I could think of was what immediately popped into my head: that carrots contain Vitamin A, which promotes eyesight and night vision. So, I replied instantly: "Carrots cause night vision."
The entire class erupted into laughter. I still have no idea why the fuck the teacher asked me what causes night vision.
Back when we were kids, my sister and I were eating when she said that the food was "Spicy, but temperature-wise."
I said "You mean hot?"
"...Yeah!"
That was so, so many years ago and to this day I still will not let that incident go. I remind her of it every few months or so. :v:

Yes. He is. That's a really harmful and rude thing to say about a group which experiences more hate and discrimination than gay men on average. It would be like saying "Nah, I don't want to go there, there's niggers".
Not a friend, but me. I was in science class, and was drawing a diagram about light. I asked the teacher (not even a full class, lunch time work iirc) "what does a lightbulb look like?"
Everyone laughed at me. Even the teacher.

[QUOTE=Midnight Red;50869199]I'm Brazilian in an exceptionally white area, you dipshit. You think that I don't have to deal with shit? The fact that you think that my race changes virtually anything about how I think that people are being encouraged to whine and complain to get rid of adversity speaks volumes about your own prejudices. Most of my friends understand perfectly the kind of bullshit I go through and those that don't think it is worse than it is.
I would suggest teaching kids that these people don't pose a threat and to kill them with kindness and understanding rather than just trying to shut them up so they don't have to deal with them. Things are scary in the real world sometimes. Expose your kids to the possibilities to help them understand that people can be mean, but they don't have to be mean back and they don't have to feel threatened.
If anyone feels traumatized from walking down a street, you should teach them to develop a thicker skin to shake it off, not teach them that it is okay to throw people into jail because you don't agree with them. You shouldn't be taught to be traumatized from slightly escalated human interaction. If a child fails to process the situation effectively, then their parent should be there to comfort them and explain to them the situation in a more mature light.
Also, it is weird for me to think of jail as anything other than concrete blocks and isolation cells. Even as a rehabilitation system, a year and a half of mandatory rehab seems at least a little long. Thinking of it as rehab does make it much more understandable.

Did you bother reading the cases mentioned on the wiki article someone linked earlier? Tell me that those seem reasonable. Tell me those don't seem like an abuse of power through vaguely made laws built for abuse.

He's not Brazilian. He's quite possibly the whitest person I know. He has said some stupid shit along the lines of this and other things in this thread but this really takes the cake for me.
