I listen to AC/DC and Black Sabbath a lot. I know their music is pretty easy to play but that doesn't make them sound bad. The more complicated something is doesn't always make it better. I'd rather have a raw powerchord than something like this: (see 0:27) [media]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hb5QaCfm7bg&feature=related[/media] Don't get me wrong, it's still fucking amazing but it's not the kind of music that gives me that awesome feeling. (ofcourse it's a matter of taste.) I'd say this sounds better eventhough I could play it right off the tabs onto my guitar. The Beatles have a LOT of terrible songs.

Metallica should be up there, they're like one of the most overrated metal bands ever conceived. I still like them though. Also I voted The Beatles because everyone and their dog loves them for whatever reason, I mean I think they're pretty good too and I listen to them occasionally(though I prefer The Who) but things.

I picked The Beatles, mainly because a lot of the other artists, I haven't heard too much songs from them. But I've listened to a lot of Beatles songs and only a few I enjoyed. So out of all the songs I heard I felt the Beatles were more overrated. But definitely next in line is AC/DC and Black Sabbath

ACDC are legendary but midcareer i think they didn't flourish and i didn't think Back in Black was a masterpiece as it could've been :saddowns:

What, no U2? EDIT: You guys should take into account the context when the Beatles appeared. As a bad there'd not really been anything quite like them before, at least not on such a scale. I don't think they're overrated at all when you consider their contributions to music and popular culture.

I don't get you people. You think these bands are over rated because they don't have complex songs that are hard to play or don't have the best vocalist. What makes people like them is there ability to produce music that sounds good or has meaning to it. Also, just because you don't like it doesn't make it over rated. It just means that you have a less popular taste in music. Anyway, I chose AC/DC because about the only good thing they have going is the badassery of a lot of their songs. Their songs sound good but not that good.

If any of these bands started playing on the radio, I would turn that shit up. But if AC/DC started playing, I would change the station or turn the radio off. I sick and fucking tired of AC/DC playing after every other goddamn song

CCR is over-rated? I find them highly under-rated. Espicially some of their songs like Down on The Corner, and Looking Out My Backdoor. Also, Over-rated bands in my book... Metallica Nirvana Guns N' Roses(For only three songs... I almost feel like no one knows about the Use Your Illusions or GnR Lies)
