What's the name of this show again?

Also, Angel Beats makes no sense for a lot of the times. Suddenly, Naoi is part of the SSS and is kissing Otonashi's ass, when he was the enemy in the previous episode.
What the hell.

Just finished watching EP7. The first half was really deep and sad. It would have made a bigger impact on the viewers if they placed that in the second half in my opinion.
[sp]And my predictions were right about how the relationship of Tenshi and SSS might end up.[/sp]
[sp]Otonoshi have a crush on her. The "nicer" one, at least[/sp] :ssh:

[sp]So Otonoshi Yuzuru was a failure at school/life and never went, and instead worked. He had a little sister with some condition that's either never explained or I forgot, and when he tries to sneak her out as a Christmas present she dies. He then realizes how much he should have done for her and dedicates his life to helping other people. He starts to go to school (judging from books in scenes, it's to be a doctor) and get good grades and such. When he's accepted into a university, while on the train it crashes and he dies. He never achieved his dream of helping people. My guess for the ending is that only after he somehow saves or helps everyone else or Yuri or Kanade or something, only then will he disappear
Another possible ending I'm thinking of is that after fighting some kind of "main boss" they all live the same way every day, but I would consider that a shit ending.

That sounds so generic it's hilarious.
Coincidentally, you can rewrite a few things and you get Fate/stay night
So Emiya Shirou was a failure at school/life and instead practiced magic. He had a father that was a magus, and when he tells him he wants to be a hero like him, his father dies. He then realizes how much he should have done for him and dedicates his life to helping other people. He starts to train with magic (judging from materials in his shed, it's strengthening magic) and save people and such. When he's accepted as a master and he takes a blow from Berserker he should have died. He is going to achieve his dream of helping people. My guess for the ending is that only after he somehow saves or helps everyone else or Tohsaka or Saber or something, only then will he become a true ally of justice
Another possible ending I'm thinking of is that after fighting some kind of "evil priest" they all live the same way every day, but I would be okay with that ending.
Another possible ending I'm thinking of is that after fighting some kind of "main boss" they all live the same way every day, but I would consider that a shit ending.
Now onto Kanade/Tenshi. At the end of the episode it shows a Kanade with red eyes standing on the roof looking down at everyone after she just kicked Yuri's ass. Keep in mind that a Kanade with yellow eyes has been with them all day. Apparently Kanade has an alter ego or something.
Back in episode 3, when they were copying her abilities, they copied an ability called "Harmonics".[/sp]
http://i43.tinypic.com/2dwi0dk.png
[sp]During episode 7 when Kanade/everyone else was pulling the massive fish, when everyone was falling Kanade says "I have to save them" She then uses what I'm guessing was the move "Harmonics" and splits in two to get a boost to save them (or something like that).[/sp]
http://i41.tinypic.com/65074l.png
[sp]Note that during this scene, the Kanade with red eyes splits from a Kanade with yellow eyes, while the yellow eyed version is still there.
So again, apparently there's a split personality of Kanade that either still wants to fight them, or something like that, and is now the new enemy that the show needed now that Kanade is their friend. Quite convenient.[/sp]
Even though some of the shows plot seems a bit rough, god damn do I still love the show.
Brace for dgg.

why does a bad show remind you of something else?

true, I guess it doesn't help either that both of them were bad shows :v:
Angel Beats has more characters than any other of Key’s works, and although it’s a little refreshing to see something other than another predictable harem from them, this also has its downsides. With so many characters and only thirteen episodes, there isn’t much time to develop them. There isn't much of an effort to either. Most of them just stand around in the background until the sad music is cued, and it’s their turn to tell their sob story, and when this happens, I don’t feel much sympathy or empathy for them because I never even had a chance to get to know them. Another problem this creates is terrible exposition. Such as the sad background stories attached to each of the characters being revealed in a sudden, indiscreet manner. The pacing isn’t terrible, but I really think for a series with so many characters, it's too short.
Sometimes the background stories themselves are the problem. Yuri's flashback in episode two was particularly nonsensical. Why would the burglars make a little girl search the house for valuables while they just stand around? I know they searched it themselves first, but they weren't very thorough. If you're going to rob a place, search every room before giving up and sending in a 6-year-old. I hate to use this phrase, but that's what you call "forced drama."
Also, if they allowed Yuri to wander freely through the house, why didn't she call the police? This wasn’t a HUGE problem though, and to be fair, maybe Yuri couldn’t get to a phone without the burglars noticing. They all seemed to be gathered in a general area, but I’m willing to let it slide. A better example of stupidity, also from episode two, would be the existence of an underground factory where the students manufacture weapons used to fight against Angel. If weapons can simply be made out of dirt, why would they put so much time and effort into creating such a massive structure? After it was destroyed, they moved back into the old one, so why was it even necessary? More importantly, how was it made? Where did the students obtain the resources for such a massive complex? And it would have taken years to construct, so why did Kanade (Angel) wait until Otonashi came along before she destroyed it? How did the students navigate to and from the factory along a trap-rigged path on a daily basis? I'm sure they could have created a disable/enable remote or something to deactivate the traps; I mean, they were able to pull an entire factory out of their asses. But no. They didn't. Apparently, purple-haired Haruhi was correct when she said "Our weakness is that we're stupid." All of this in the first couple of episodes was not a good sign. Yet I pressed on. It was still just good enough to keep my attention.
And yes, “purple-haired Haruhi.” I went there. And Kanade is a Yuki clone.
You can find just about every main character type there is in Angel Beats. Tsundere, emotionless girl, ect. This would be fine if they had their own unique attributes that would make them stand out, but they don’t. I’ve seen almost all of these characters in Air, Kanon and Clannad. Key is stealing from their own shows. (Also Haruhi.) There’s even a blue-haired Sunohara thrown in for slapstick. They’re the exact same characters in different situations. I’m not saying that the characters are bad; I just want some originality. The people at Key don’t want to change anything because they’ve found something that works. They employ the same formula over and over again because they know it will be popular amongst young teens and ronery otaku in need of waifus.
The story, while still very “Key-ish” does bare some originality.
Key’s stories are always somewhat similar, but I think Angel Beats sort of breaks away from their old formula a little bit. It has a somewhat unique and intriguing plot. The problem is that it is riddled with stupidity. Some times it’s forgivable. Other times it’s not. In episode 6, the SSS was being defeated in battle because their opponents were using NPCs as “human shields.” Killing them would go against Yuri and the other member’s morals. This may seem admirable, but it’s actually just stupid. NPCs aren’t actually humans. They’re fucking NPCs. Do you feel bad when killing an NPC in a video game? Well, it's the same shit. Don’t worry about the SSS though. For some reason, their opponents stopped shooting long enough for Otonashi (the boring, cliche male protagonist) to rush in and save them…by giving their main adversary a big hug ^.^
It turned out that he was just upset that his daddy never loved him because he couldn’t make flower pots as good as his oniisan.
It was at that point that I finally gave up and realized Angel Beats was a waste of time. It’s a shame too because it had an interesting premise.

You have a bad day or something?
Uh, no.
I might BE a bad day, but I seldom ever have a bad day.
Even now after having slided on the asphalt yesterday and any movement on the left leg hurts my hip like hell and I got a relatively big wound on my left elbow.
That's dumb. Why you hate Angel Beats dgg?
Thanks for the compliment. I wish I knew who the artist was though.
Because it's a terrible, extremely super clichè show that does NOTHING but rely on stereotypical anime behaviour, jokes and drama.
There is not ONE SPECK DUST OF ORIGINALITY in the show. The only thing that is actually good about it is the plot. But the story is horrible so far. The overall production quality and enjoyment luckily started to actually increase after the 4th episode crawling up from a 4/10 to a 6/10 so far, which is well done, but it's still bad.
The show does nothing new, can not think for itself or have any originality in anything and just becomes popular because it has the stereotypical characters like Tenshi (Rei/Yuki/Mizore), Yuri (Haruhi/Asuka) and everyone else who are just bland support characters (even the main character who is proving himself incredibly useful despite just being a person that doesn't know shit and doesn't really have any abilities, you know, the normal guy, like you, that can prove useful even though you might not think so yourself).
There's a limit to how negative you can be when criticizing, before it becomes excessive and it also becomes apparent that you had a bad day and just wanted to rag on the first thing that annoyed you. No problem with ranting to release stress though. Everyone does it once in a while; heck, it's a neccesity.
Did you have a shitty day today?
I have no limits, I'm blunt and honest, I don't sprinkle my posts with kindness and hold back just to "be polite". That's retarded and stupid, I hate it, say what you have to say, not what we want to hear. I act like this normally and I did not have a bad day at all.
"Because they're fucking twats that longs for sex toys that silently obeys whilst they can fantasize about everything they would be saying if they talked regularily. They also just blush and do whatever you want to do."
I thought that was a bit too much even for joking.
It's not too much, even for joking. If anything it's not enough.
Except he's not.
Her popularity is tied more to her depressing backstory.
Ahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahhahaha.
You should be a comedian. Depressing backstory? She doesn't have one. It's not depressing and it's just a sticky clichè that she doesn't have any friends. It has to be one of THE most typical backstories for a character.
Also look around. You'll see people commenting about how awesome the show is because of Tenshi and her Mapo tofu or whatever the dish was called. They love her stereotypical personality, not her character.
The silent sex doll they can toy around with however they wanted. The kind that just looks away and blushes if you give her a compliment or say something dirty. The kind that holds back her moaning sounds (as they make in porns) when having sex and only shows a certain lust in her eyes and blushes.
Their personal cute bitch.
What about how her friends slowly went away until she was alone.
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL.
Anyone being touched by that in Angel Beats seriously needs to watch the news or any other damn anime that TRIES to be deep and emotional.
It worked with Fuuko in Clannad because she was a hard worker, [sp]actually was in hospital and just tried to do something for her parents[/sp].
Tenshi is just a friendless emotionless bitch that is misunderstood. Her background and character is flatter than a piece of paper.
Also, Angel Beats makes no sense for a lot of the times. Suddenly, Naoi is part of the SSS and is kissing Otonashi's ass, when he was the enemy in the previous episode.
What the hell.
Naoi was a bully. Bullies try to solve their problems by going out on others. Otonashi made Naoi realize that even he had a valuable life and had a personality of his own, and not his brothers.
Congratulations, Naoi evolved and learned the skill "Individual".
But Naoi already has 4 skills, do you want to replace it with another?
Naoi learned "Individual" and forgot "Bully faggot brother clone".
I'll pick up the two spoiler posts after I watch the episode.

The reviwer has his faults though.
They did have a turn on and off button. They just didn't disable it, Yuri said so herself.
And whilst the weapons could be made out of dirt I'm pretty sure it would be easier to create a factory out of dirt and let it mass produce weapons instead of having them produce one and one weapon at the time, which they did. The previous place was smaller so the production was smaller.
But other than that I agree with him.

They can but only reproduce the stuff they know of. So the explosives will be identical and create identical explosions.
But it doesn't change the fact that it was just a lack of effort. But a lack of effort that made sense to a certain extent.
