We talking acute radiation poisoning with a short term onset, or long term problems after acute exposure, or chronic complications caused after small exposure in the long run? There's a lot of ways radiation can fuck you up, but an interesting thing about bananas is that the banana equivalent dose is a very flawed way of measuring it. A banana dose is around 1 microsievert iirc, but the main cause of the radioactivity is an isotope of potassium. The body handles this isotope of potassium like any other potassium, it regulates it very strictly in the process of maintaining homeostasis, so your kidneys are actively working to maintain a constant potassium level in the blood. You'd possibly overdose on potassium from eating a fucktonne of bananas, but it's insanely unlikely that you'd suffer any radiation related problems (in this case I'll assume a cancer forming as a byproduct of DNA damage but the cell continuing to reproduce) from it, as it's passing through the body and out the ass before you get a huge accumulation of it. I say unlikely, because it is theoretically possible for one minuscule dose to be the one that causes DNA damage that is responsible for a tumour to grow, just like it's possible that that one ibuprofen could cause a stomach ulcer and such, but we're talking winning the lottery whilst being struck by lightning and run over by a T34-85 unlikely. You'd need to eat, oh, millions or billions to suffer from acute radiation sickness, even the very minor kind you might associate with 1 or 2 Gy of whole body exposure. Right-o, let's look. 0.1 microSieverts should work out at about 100 nanograys. To get an exposure of 1 gray, assuming a banana is a beta or gamma emitter and you're getting all of it, you should need to eat 10^7 bananas to get the normal minimum expected dose for minor acute radiation sickness. You'd need to eat twice that to reach the cap. The fatality rate of this dose tends to be 0-5% within 6-8 weeks, though I imagine the odds of you getting a cancer years down the line shoot up massively! For more values, look at this and consider that a dose of 1 Gy is about 10^7 bananas. The death is pretty goddamn horrible. The main issue is we have a [b]tiny[/b] sample size for acute poisoning cases, and the long term effects are also very hard to document.

On the topic of Bananas, apparently the reason why banana flavoring in candy and shit doesn't taste like the bananas we eat everyday is because the original banana flavoring was based off of a species that is no longer commercially available. So now we have two different types of banana flavors. Apparently the previous banana species we ate supposedly tasted better too.
