bigotry and intolerance are a problem in most countries
people tend to undersell those problems in the US until something tragic happens
people tend to undersell those problems in the US
surely not
surely not
it happens all the time
issues get swept under the rug until it's too late again
when those issues are close to you it's easier to see the full scope of the problem
only issues i can speak from a personal perspective on is the still rampant intolerance towards the lgbt community
people who aren't involved think everything is fine now and the US is super accepting but that's pretty far from the truth
The doom demo is p good
bigotry is half of what I hear about every day but maybe that's a personal problem

in the shooting thread there's a video of a guy being circled around, shot in the head, and killed
and there are people who think this is justice
and they're mostly based in this country
and it's on the basis of race[/sp]
bigotry is half of what I hear about every day but maybe that's a personal problem
i'm speaking about the general population of the country of course

I'm still in shock after watching that video.
I'm holding back vomit at this point.
I thought I spoke to the general population
idk why
and this has always kinda bugged me
but that stuff doesnt fuck me up, like, at all
i just say "yeah thats fucked up" and move on
do i lack empathy or something, like what's wrong with this picture
edit: talking about the shooting not about bigotry

it's ok to feel disconnected from something that doesn't really involve you
[editline]8th July 2016[/editline]
as long as you recognize the impact of the situation

What if the video didn't phase you, but the photograph of that officer at the hospital crying and hugging that woman bothers the living fuck out of you?
its interesting how people react so differently to things
gotta be a large variety of factors playing into that

I shed tears over fictional characters or nostalgic things more often than i do seeing tragedies that occur in the real world
i'm probably a horrible person
