I just watched that episode and I was confused at that part as well. That's messed up.
Infinite actually runs extremely well for me. 1080p w/ VH settings and AA turned on. Pretty much maintains a silky smooth framerate.

Why use AA when using a resolution where the pixels are generally smaller? What makes it look better? Blurring those single-pixel shines?
because it does improve the image quality
it's a negligible difference and it's not worth it if it affects the framerate, but there's no reason not to squeeze all the image quality you can out of a game if you can keep it running smoothly
