Which is my point, earlier he implied that for whatever reason Macs have inferior hardware which they don't. That is the hardware that comes with the Mac in that video running Crysis (which is what I mean by saying it is a Mac running it) He did not say the OS
Price for Price, Macs do have inferior hardware compared to PCs.
Well I believe this discussion has turned into a flame war so I will not take part in it anymore. Proboards is too blind to accept that Macs are not awful while we are admitting PC's have multiple advantages over Macs.
You just completely lost the argument

He can't admit this, but I can.

We've taken the reichstag, comrades!

I don't think Macs are bad, per se. I do dislike them, but they're not so flawed that they're unusable. My hate is for flamboyant Mac users (Which I haven't seen any of in this thread.)
I just think that Windows Machines are better.
There isn't a thing that a Mac can do that a Windows machine can't.
Windows Machines are cheaper.
Windows is more friendly to programmers, and it's the most commonly used OS, so we end up getting a lot more applications than Macs.
And Windows doesn't try to do things for me. I feel that I'm in control of my computer when I use Windows and Linux, whereas Mac has always seemed way too closed-platformed and oriented towards people that don't know about computers. Apple's slogan was "It Just Works," suggesting that it was a computer targeted at the crowd that was frustrated with not being able to solve the problems their PCs had.
They're too expensive.
They can't play games.
although, i own an Apple Ipod Classic 80gb, love it. wouldn't have any other HD player. i dont mind Apple, just dont like Mac.
I'm throwing in my 2 cents here:
I'm well above computer literate, I'm A+ certified and am working tech support.
At my university I see people (students mostly, a few faculty) walking around with Macs and only using it for stuff like Youtube, Facebook, Hulu, email, the braindead basic stuff.
If I were up walk up to most of them and ask why they specifically bought a Mac they would answer "It's better than Windows," and if I were to proceed to ask why they would spout nonsensical bullshit the Apple "Geniuses" told them (also they are not Geniuses, they are idiots too).
So what about applications they use? Surely they picked a Mac because it did something noone else can right?
Nope, Safari, Mac Mail, Itunes, and Mac Office is all they use.
Basically a whole generation of people got caught up in the "Vista sucks get a Mac" pandemic and are too ignorant and/or too lazy to change, ironic since said pandemic was a minor change in OS thinking on the user side and they switched to Macs, which requires a bit more work to understand.
Of course show me a Mac user who is familar with virtualization/boot camp, knows their way around the command line, and can troubleshoot themself you'll also have found a person who is worthy of using a non-mainstream operating system.

I learned the other day that even for a UNIX OS, OSX doesn't have a built in GCC
I'd pay more for dog shit.
Anything that would be as simple as a right click > one more click on a pc is a lot more clicks and an email to apple on a mac.
And the 'they just work' slogan is blatant false advertising.
I have to use a mac for school and they freeze on me every 10 minutes for a minute or 2, no exaggeration.
These are brand new iMacs, too.
I feel I missed something in my last post: I don't hate Apple computers, I hate the common braindead Mac user.
I hate the common braindead Mac user.
dat ^
Here is my reason for not liking macs:
Macbook (from the mac website):
2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB
500GB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm
Keyboard (English) & User’s Guide (English)
SuperDrive 8x DVD+/-R DL/DVD+/-RW/CD-RW
15 in screen
$1,249.00
Sony Vaio from Newegg.com:
Intel Core i5-520M(2.4GHz)
4GB DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M w/ 512MB
500GB HD
14in screen
$1,049.99
Its almost laughable. My laptop was less than half the price of that mac and had very comparable specs.
Less game support. Only reason really. Also I grew up using PC's and am just far too used to it.
To me Macs have more disadvantages than PCs while costing more, software and hardware wise.

I can't have all my nice apps on it.
every one else doe's it?
It makes computer illiterates MORE FUCKING STUPID!!!
The Prices
The Users
The Machine
The Ads
The Mac Guy
The Compatibility
The Company
The NO UPGRADES
NO GAMES (NO , PHOTOSHOP DOESN'T COUNT)
That's pretty much it.
I don't own a mac, but I think they are just as great as windows, I love all computers, you fanboys are not true computer lovers.
I don't find them that useful.
Of course, there are some cool things, but that's all.
I had to use a Mac for an entire summer, I couldn't do anything, I think I spent over 200 hours playing open TTD
That video showed that someone had installed WINDOWS on their MACINTOSH in order to run a game.
The hardware is essentially the same. The main argument is the Operating System, and since he had to use Windows to get that running, it's pretty obvious which OS runs it better.
Still, Apple had to add the compatibility and drivers in order for Windows to even be installed in the first place, it's still a tie.
Regardless, it's all about preference. As both computers do this stuff:
Windows: games, work, junk.
Mac: games (YES FUCKING GAMES), work, junk.
It's the same shit, different experience and what you prefer, so stop whining and get along.

There are upgrades too, you have to find a third-party company that offers new chips/video cards and such, they often include instructions on how to install them too.
There are plenty of games, you can't bitch there.
I hate it when people don't realize that Macs are indeedy a gaming platform, maybe not as large as the Windows base, but there is quite a bit of games for Macs as well.

Mac Pro could do it.

Minesweeper and Halo doesn't make their gaming base very big.

Minesweeper is on Windows.
Look up some games,
COD4, AOE I & II, Sims 3, Star Wars Force Unleashed, Dragon Age, Rome: Total War, Bioshock, Enemy Territroy: Quake Wars, just to name a few.
Let's see...
Expensive, shit, Attract more douches than the Twilight movies, Bring nothing original to the market. cheaply made, difficult to maintain,No games, appeal to stupid people and because YOU like them.
i can't afford one.
