Just because those are "bandwagon" features doesn't mean they aren't good selling points.
People are throwing the term bandwagon around way too loosely these days. Just because a lot of people like something does not mean they are hopping on a bandwagon, it might very well mean that it is actually a good thing.
Just buy the fucking game.

I haven't had anyone phone me on GTA in ages.
It's a really solid game, coming from someone who has never played GTA before (other than your casual dick around with friends)
Btw multiplayer is fun as hell IMO
