Xubs, not to bash Blender 100% but in the right hands it can do some freakin incredible stuff like what this FPer did who just so happens to go to the same school as I. Got to fly around and check it out and he ended up modelling every bolt, every moving part.

120 frames for the former and 96 frames for the latter at forty minutes and an hour and ten minutes average respectively.
I should probably bring the IOR of the glass material down though. On the lubricator it just ends up blowing out horribly.
Also, i did a turntable test for the breakdowns and it sucked. The thing is so long and low that it takes up either none or all of the frame, so i have to frame it in a way that makes half the rotation useless no matter what. Y'all think some slow pans with material breakdowns and a static shot with a rotating HDRI sphere would cut it?[/QUOTE]
