Considering that he was in jail for 4 years, he is likely on some sort of probation. I'm not sure how the law works how you work but here he would be facing numerous charges. Assault 1, Assault against a minor, domestic violence and so on. Call the police, there should be numerous lines to get in touch with them and in a more direct way for domestic violence, or talk to a counselor at your school.
