if everybody is battling each other with the ideal maximised legal pokemon, then it is a completely balanced and level playing field. if two people with legitimately trained pokemon battle each other, theres no rules set in place to keep things balanced and their may be IV advantages that you can't account for. also using items isn't even allowed in multiplayer battles

you shouldn't have an advantage for investing more time into training the ideal team. if anything, thats less fair.

I thought it was interesting. The mistake most people make is treating it like a normal game rather than more of an interactive story.
on the topic of pokemon, playing competitive legitimately is a complete and utter waste of time. IVs are just straight up not fair and training competitive teams takes way too long. i don't get why so many people insist on playing it legit when theres battle simulators that not only remove all the pointless grindy bullshit, but have clauses and tiers set in place to keep the game balanced and a full matchmaking/ranking system, and its FREE. i just can not fathom why anyone would willingly pay money for a blatantly more inconvenient option
I've never even bothered with that sort of thing. I barely even understand what the hell an EV or IV is supposed to be simply because it seems to turn the game into a job rather than something for entertainment.

its not that complex, its just that people tend to view pokemon as a simpler game than it really is. EV stands for effort value, EVs are basically just extra stats on top of your base stats, if you've ever used protein or zinc or any other items like that in the games, those give you EV points. you also get them from killing certain pokemon.
IV stands for individual value, they determine what a pokemons base stats are. basically if you were to catch two pidgeys, one might have more attack than the other because it has higher attack IVs. so its ideal to get a pokemon with the maximum possible IVs to get the most benefit out of it. this means that, if you're doing it legimitately, you have to catch the same pokemon over and over until you get the maximum IVs, which takes a great deal of time. in a battle simulator theyre just maxed out by default so that everyones on the same level.

Competitive physical sports are bad because you have to train and have genetics to succeed too huh
Competitive physical sports are bad because you have to train and have genetics to succeed too huh
if there was a way to make everyone equally as fit to play competitive sports for free then that'd make things a lot more fair, right?
the difference between this and pokemon is you're talking about something that can't be 100% fair for everybody because genetics is a factor, and genetics are random. not only can pokemon be fair, its easier for it to be fair.

We could have all the athletes play a football video game to have it fair, it'd be easier, no training required, and genetics won't matter either.
In legal trials, regardless of how evidence is obtained, it should still be accepted as evidence. There are cases where jury's have to disregard things because they are discovered illegally or without probable cause, which is bullshit.
tbh that's an important restriction placed on the government.
I mean you can slap the police on the wrist for illegally searching people, or you can give them the ultimate punishment: make it invalid in court. If you don't, they'll want to search you with impunity. Furthermore, if an illegal search of your belongings were performed, are you 100% certain you'd have absolutely nothing?
Always remember to say "no I don't consent to searches".

So you're saying we should uphold the law by... Breaking the law? Are you mentally deficient? Those laws are in place to protect people from abuse anyways.
We could have all the athletes play a football video game to have it fair, it'd be easier, no training required, and genetics won't matter either.
well that would technically be more fair wouldn't it? whats your point? i'm talking about a pretty niche competitive game and you're talking about a sport thats watch by a lot of people at a large scale. making every football player convert to playing a football simulation would probably annoy fans and be unnecessarily expensive, there'd be no benefit to it financially even if its more fair. the thing about competitive pokemon is that there ARE free battle simulators that make things more balanced and fair.
i don't understand what your point is. i feel like you're just expecting me to think that random uncontrollable factors are fair for some reason just because genetics are a factor in sport. what if something like starcraft 2 had a levelling system and unlockable ovepowered units that you got when you hit the max level? that would mean that you could only play fairly once you waste a bunch of time getting to that max level. competitive video games have the ability to make things more fair because genetics are not a factor, and thats exactly what battle simulators have done with pokemon. its not like the guy who created football wanted genetics to be a factor, nobody has control over genetics. its just something that people have to deal with because they have no choice. apples and oranges.
Jump scares are scary, CHEAP OR NOT. [sp]I don't agree that that's all a horror game should be, but fuck do I get pretty spooked easy[/sp]

No need to break out the insults.
I'm not saying the offenders shouldn't be punished, illegal searches are still bad. But if they find incriminating evidence for someone in the process, they should still be able to use it against them.
Eg: If a crooked cop breaks into someones house. Damn straight that cop should be punished, even charged for what they did. But if they happen to stumble upon something incriminating for the owner of that house, then it should also be eligible as evidence against them. Otherwise we're just just giving a bad person an advantage because of what another bad person did.

Even if that's the case it would still encourage investigators to just that when they are having trouble finding a break in a case. It still encourages abuse because the person they're investigating could very well be innocent and they'll find some technicality or something when illegally searching as an excuse to put them away since they can't find actual evidence. Those laws may end up protecting the bad guys sometimes but they also protect the innocent from being unduly searched.
i hate how country music is taking alot of inspiration from hip hop nowadays

My avatar related.
I like you.
Rayhalo should not have been permabanned.
Skimpy or revealing clothing is sexier than full nudity
Skyline could benefit from a sequel.
The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned is the best DLC in the entire Borderlands franchise.
Pokemon's not all that fun, to be honest
I don't think there's anything wrong with marrying a cousin

I'm going to sound like a complete idiot here but...
I actually like 4th and 5th gen the most, but I do respect the classics just as much.

Classics were pretty boring in my opinion. I remember playing Red and blazing through it in like a day. Get a type chart and you're fucking set.
The newer ones got new mechanics, although forgettable as fuck everything else. I'm not even a Pokemon fan.

oh no you don't sound like an idiot at all, there are definitely great pokemon in every generation

I just like the endgame in the recent Pokemon games. Black2/white2 was fucking amazing.
Kaluha is shit. caramel flavoured coffee liqueur in general is shit. Bailey's is also not good.
Sambuca or Grand Marnier are great. or just some whiskey.
Those "pan from the ass to the face" avatars on facepunch are stupid.

Country music is going the same way as Rap. Lots of generic, samey sounding songs about the same topics (For Rap it is money, bitches, drinking, smoking weed, capping fools, and clubbing, which is how it always has been just with far less effort. For Country it is all beer, fucking your wife, tractors, and more beer)
I do honestly think music is worse now than in the past, and I think that is for two reasons: I obviously don't like the genre and am not the intended audience for said music, and as a new or re-invented genre starts to near the end of its lifespan before the next trend arrives, it seems like way less effort gets put into the songs. Just a "rinse, repeat" almost machine made songlist almost solely for the purpose of money. And this has happened in the past as well, so it isn't a surprise.

I'm sorry but there's a wide range of completely different styles in rap and country tbh
Like I understand if you haven't had much experience in either genre because they don't interest you but you can't really make that blanket statement without actually listening to them

There's a lot more mainstream rap that's good than mainstream country that's good sadly.
