But we don't vote for laws in their favor, we vote for representatives, in the USA at least.
Again with the nitpicking.
So we should do the "right thing", and vote for the guy that supports transgenderism even though we dislike every other aspect of him?
Maybe there are issues that are more important to you that determine who you vote for, but if you had the ability to, would you support the cause? Would you at least want transgenders to have rights?
Mafia 2 is one of the greatest games ever made. The Winter section was just so comfy.
When the game starts up with the winter scene and you're walking with your briefcase with "Let It Snow" playing in the background was one of the most immersive moments of any game for me.
What about it do you disapprove of?
The surgeries, mainly. I don't approve of those. I also disapprove for someone to say they are female if they are physically a male (or something along those lines). There's more, I think, but I'm too tired to think about it.
I hate Saint's Row. I just think messing around in a sandbox stops being entertaining when it's outright expected of the player. It was the juxtaposition against the somewhat gritty story that made it funny in GTA.
I tolerate trans people, I can't say I disprove; it's hard for me to imagine that a person can't feel comfortable in their natural physical form, it makes me think there's something wrong with them in the head. maybe it's why I feel uncomfortable around them, but they can live how they want and I will accept that.
It's not exactly something wrong in their head, at least not in the way you're thinking. It's more that their brain is literally that of the opposite gender. (Brain scans back this up though to what amount does vary.)
Because not everyone has the same taste??? Its literally the same reason people don't like the same games as you
I thought this was the unpopular opinions thread.
I'm trying to remember, is it a physiological or chemical issue in the brain?
I believe it would be considered chemical since it's caused by a hormonal imbalance during pregnancy. It's whatever a hormonal issue would fall under.
I believe it would be considered chemical since it's caused by a hormonal imbalance during pregnancy. It's whatever a hormonal issue would fall under.
I believe that is chemical, yes.
I'm tolerant. I wouldn't be rude to them or try to deny them rights... but i think transgender people are... freakish? Not a man, not a woman, just someone who paid to have their genitalia mutilated; Maybe if they perfected the surgery in a decade to the point where all the correct organs are there and reproduction is a possibility it'd be fine... but not now.
It's fine to think that as long as you don't offend them, try to supress them or take their freedom away. I admit that nowadays everything seems possible and there is such a large variety of unusual stuff going on. I don't really care anymore about it and I don't feel offended by it. It's their business.
FYI plenty of transgender people do not get operations. Recently when transgender procedures were made freely available from state healthcare in Argentina and people were allowed to change their legally recognised gender with relative simplicity it resulted in less people having the surgery. A lot of the reason trans people end up having surgery is because of societal stigma dictating that they are not allowed to choose what gender they identify as and that if they want to identify as a male/female they must have a penis/vagina when non-trans people aren't treated with the same kind of attitude. Just because someone I see in public appears to be a woman doesn't mean they have a vagina. I don't check (often!). The way I see it your gender whether you are cisgendered (your gender matches your birth sex) or transgendered it should not affect your employment, legal standing, etc. You should be able to change your gender identification whenever you like without any adverse consequences because like, equality y0. Made a post on it a while back: http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1288967&p=41438432&viewfull=1#post41438432
Argentina passed a law that made gender reassignment surgery, paid for by the state, freely available. Changing legal and social gender ID without medical intervention has also become possible. ‘For example, if you want to call yourself Robert and be a man,’ explains Lohana, ‘you can, and you will be recognized as such.’ The law applies to anyone aged 18 and over. But under-18s are allowed to have their name changed and be recognized according to their own gender identity. (http://newint.org/features/2013/06/01/argentina-transgender-rights/) A lot of the stigma surrounding trans people is a result of the thinking that they must have a penis/vagina/whatever to identify as a particular sex. By allowing people to identify as whatever gender they like results in lower numbers deciding to have gender re-assignment surgery. I think that tight definitions of transgender should be avoided – allowing for the possibility of new identities in future. This girl who identifies as a boy now should not be fordbidden from expressing a particular gender identity.
I thought Mists of Pandaria was a phenomenal WoW x-pac. I've loved TF2 since it's release and I don't care how F2P it gets, I will always love it because it is TF2.

If you do actually think that was common, you might want to read up on it a little. It seems to be one of those fairly common misconceptions along with people thinking that it's easy to get diagnosed with a gender disorder and get hormones.
"Rights activists" have just begun to get on my fucking nerves In fact I think it's safe to say that they were a significant factor in the changing of my political alignment to the right. It's just amazing how stupid some people can be and the fact that I used to be like them chills me.
Because everyone here says the opposite, I'll say that Dota 2 is the best multiplayer game I've played. [editline]28th October 2013[/editline] Also Battlefield 3 is boring and dull and Battlefield 4 looks the same.
"Rights activists" have just begun to get on my fucking nerves.
Our rights are being shit on right now pretty hard...
I think Daft Punk is overrated.
Care to elaborate? Curious...
Here's some examples: "THIN PRIVILEGE!" "WHITE CIS MALE FUCK" IRL some Dumblr user said she lost all respect for me after I used "gay" as a colloquial derogatory term (without any actual homophobic undertones, mind you) and claimed I was trampling over gay rights or some shit Good. Her respect is too filthy for me.
Good. Her respect is too filthy for me.
I think half of that stuff on Tumblr is ironic.
Thin privilege is not having your weight mocked by little kids because they’ve been systematically brought up to think that being fat is bad. I’ve always wanted to be a teacher when I was older (specifically to teach Women’s Studies) so last week I volunteered as a student teacher for a kindergarten class. On my very first day, the kids looked at me and went quiet. One boy in particular decided to shout, “LOOK, SHE’S AS BIG AS A DINOSAUR!” and the rest of the class started laughing. I tried to ignore it at first, but for a while afterwards the kids kept chanting silly stuff such as, “Open the door! Get on the floor! Do the dinosaur!” I couldn’t take it anymore and excused myself to the bathroom before the kids could see me crying. It’s really sad to think that these kids, who aren’t even old enough to understand how weight and body fat work, have been taught by society as such an early age that it’s okay to laugh and joke about fat people.
Well, it's an unpopular opinion in the real world. I'm sure that most Facepunchers had a shit time in high school.
I had a great time in high school, and everyone I know says college is better. I've seriously never heard the opposite.
I had a great time in high school, and everyone I know says college is better. I've seriously never heard the opposite.
I thought I enjoyed high school until I started college, and then I realized it was awful and I just had no standard for comparison.

But I remember during wotlk everyone bitches about it so bad.
I enjoy linear, story driven games. There seems to be a mindset now that if a game isn't open world, it's automatically shit. I guess it depends on the execution and style of the game.
cata is the best expansion.
I enjoy linear, story driven games. There seems to be a mindset now that if a game isn't open world, it's automatically shit. I guess it depends on the execution and style of the game.
To expand on this, linear games usually have much more attention to detail, while many open world games have a whole lot of nothing and copy-paste assets. Obviously there are exceptions on both sides but whatever
I thought I enjoyed high school until I started college, and then I realized it was awful and I just had no standard for comparison.
I'm failing three of my six classes for this first semester of my Freshman year. I'm two months in. If I can barely pass my first year of high school, I highly doubt I'll get anywhere in college, which is why I'm planning on not attending.
