I can't really comment about the Telltale game or comics, but I don't like the Walking Dead show. It always seems to be "whine, whine whine *ZOMBIE JUMP SCARE* whine whine *Zom-killed without even changing expression-transitioning back to-whine". I understand a zombie apocalypse would be a huge downer and all that, but it just seems like lazy TV. I also cannot stand True Blood and Game Of Thrones. I have a theory that if this show that used to be on HBO called John From Cincinnati(I didn't care much for this one either for the record) had even a fraction of the gratuitous and overdone nudity and sex that True Blood and Game Of Thrones have that it would still be on the air. Yeah, I get that there are people who watch those as they are fans of the books. I may be in the minority here, but I hate Ubisoft with a passion. Their recent trend of trying to kiss ass towards PC gamers isn't working on me. A few years ago PC Gamers were all pirate scum that never paid for the "perfection" that is Ubisoft games, now they are trying to win us back over, going as far as trying to copy Steam. If they really gave a damn about PC Gaming, why is Assassin's Creed 4 for PC delayed almost a month, where as Rocksmith 2014 and its day 1 song packs came out the same day on all platforms?
shit some human rights activists on tumblr are annoying? wow i've been fighting for the wrong side all along! down with human rights!
Screw it I'm becoming an Ayn Rand worshipper because because because some unions and people who want rights are annoying yo. Poor people are just lazy - get with the programme, bro!
I like Modern Warfare better than Battlefield, but the fanbase for Battlefield, while still complete shit, is a bit better. Also, I don't like games like Red Orchestra 2 where you die in 1 or 2 hits. it just feels unfair both to me and the people I kill. They don't get a chance to fight back, hell, they don't even see me, and vice versa. I want to have some semblance of actual "fighting" and intensity rather than getting shot in the back and dying instantly for the 1,000th time.
Here's some examples: "THIN PRIVILEGE!" "WHITE CIS MALE FUCK" IRL some Dumblr user said she lost all respect for me after I used "gay" as a colloquial derogatory term (without any actual homophobic undertones, mind you) and claimed I was trampling over gay rights or some shit Good. Her respect is too filthy for me.
wow it's almost like implying 'gay' is bad no matter the context is a bad thing
If Facepunch wants to be the self-proclaimed bastion of liberal thought it touts itself to be, then it needs to learn to accept transgendered people. Every time I see a trans-related thread full of dumbs and funnies, it makes my blood boil so much. Really?
I think trans people are weird.
I think trans people are weird.
"i'm going to deny trans* people rights and won't even acknowledge their gender because I think they're weird B)"
I think trans people are weird.
Not to stir shit up, but I find it hilarious how people are always going on about how trans people here are treated like shit and how people need to grow to be accepting of the views and lifestyle of others. Yet if someone posts that they don't agree with the notion of transgenderism, or think its strange, they're on par with Satan. Even if they think that trans people should be acknowledged and are generally for pro-transgenderism, but still think the idea of it is strange, they're blown off for being "intolerant" or "bigoted" It seems hypocritical. And I don't mean to imply this is limited to transgender debates, but that's been the new thing Facepunch has been fighting over lately. And I'm not saying being against/for transgenderism is right/wrong, it's just an observation.
Even if they think that trans people should be acknowledged and are generally for pro-transgenderism, but still think the idea of it is strange, they're blown off for being "intolerant" or "bigoted".
This doesn't happen. It's fine to think it's weird, I did at first. But you do realize the people you are talking about don't justify it or try and learn about it, they just say "Ew it's weird, what freaks." You know, being dicks and not even bothering to learn about what they think is weird? Yeah, that's intolerance actually. So they are being intolerant of it by not bothering to even try to change their view on it. It's like the definition of intolerant when you do that, so it's justified to call them that.
A Cold, Dark, Night is the most inviting thing on earth
"i'm going to deny trans* people rights and won't even acknowledge their gender because I think they're weird B)"
You can't be serious Just because he thinks they're weird doesn't mean he doesn't respect them. It's just that they seem weird to him. Nowhere does he say that as a result he wishes to deny them their rights. It's not just that they're annoying, it's also because I consistently see people blaming others who had no part in so-called "oppression" as if it were their fault, myself included. For fucks sake, I say that I'm right wing and people immediately assume I'm Hitler. I don't even RESPECT Ayn Rand.

Addressing something as "weird" is pretty disrespectful as well.
I've seen you juggling around hateful crap in threads pertaining to civil rights for minorities, just saying. Addressing something as "weird" is pretty disrespectful as well.
Well fuck me but I can't find a better way to describe it Should I say I disagree with it? I don't think so because I'm not exactly opposed to people being it. I just find it doesn't feel "right" to me is all, but that doesn't mean I'll deny rights to transsexuals. I don't hate minorities just because I support Zimmerman, and I myself am a minority. I just hate it when people get crap for shit that isn't even their fault.
I don't think that our culture will ever have an intelligent discussion about gender issues, and other sensitive subjects like that in our lifetime. Both sides just shit on each other, which entrenches them both even further into their holes. By sides I mean social justice warrior types, and the bigots themselves. Hell, I don't even know why anyone cares what someone else does.

I admit we all need to be more civil about it though, that's for sure.
If you want to change minds, then you have to have a discussion about it, unless you just want the whole debate to stagnate, and then transgenders will never have rights?
Except they're steadily gaining rights, and internet flamewars have seldom changed minds and therefore are most probably not part of the force that drives aforementioned acquisition of rights
Both sides just shit on each other, which entrenches them both even further into their holes.
Well yeah but look at race issues, eventually one side started dying out as next generation absorbed the more enlightened ideas.
Hell, I don't even know why anyone cares what someone else does.
Unless it's harming other people in some way, there is no logical reason to give a shit what someone else is doing with their life. The only argument I see is "Well it makes me feel uncomfortable because bathrooms or something" which isn't really a good argument at all.
I mean, if anything, "Social Justice Warriors" are only serving to make people unreceptive to such rights movements. [editline]29th October 2013[/editline] Fuck automerge
A lot of views of mine have changed over the years from viewing forums. Of these, I've probably gotten a lot of ideas while seeing people debate about certain topics. While I've never contributed in any way to the political process, I've definitely gained a better and more healthy understanding of important issues today. It's something, at least.

Never cared that much for Futurama.
yeah, that episode with fry and his dog was not sad at all. people over dramatize it.
This scene never scared me.
Same but "You're not perfect" caught me off guard when I was young; I wanted to cry but was too afraid to.
And they think you're intolerant.
I swear we just had this discussion you can tolerate things and still think they're weird. I, personally, have nothing wrong with trans individuals. Hell, I even have a few friends who are going through the process or at least contemplating it. What I do disagree with, however, is how when little kids talk about becoming the opposite gender, their parents are immediately on-board with the idea. What happens if it's just one of those childhood phases that they grow out of in a month and they've already started treatment? Seems like that'd mess the kid up for a long time.

They'll test you for quite awhile before surgery becomes an option. Though hormonal treatment can be done much quicker which isn't good.

It's different enough from the comics for me not to compare them as if they were meant to be (mind you, i haven't read the comics, i just heard they were very different) Stuff like 'don't kill shane for two seasons' realy bothers me. I despise everything they've done in game of thrones. These changes irk me the most: -Arya's realy stupid, makes stupid decisions and has lost all her good character development from the second/third book. - Jon's story north of the wall was cut down to a fraction of what it was in the books. -Tyrion's just too good. In the books he was monumentally ugly and had some serious issues with love/regret. In the tv series his only fault is his height and his whore relationship is going swimmingly. - all the bran/rickon development is gone. Most of the theon development is unnecessary. - everything danaerys did in quarth was bullshit. Also there's no strong bewlas. - Renly is an outrageous faggot. But seriously in the books that was only implied and the guy otherwise had a very masculine face. - many of the character designs are pretty bad. Like how every single lanister soldier has 'lanister' armour, every wildling wears white... i realy don't think martin intended it to be like that. There's loads more things wrong but i'd be here another hour if i were to list them all. Plus this realy is an unpopular opinion. True blood. I've got a friend who's realy into the books. I read one book and i've got to say it wasn't well written. It realy suffers from only having one character's perspective on things. As for the tv series: It's full of bullshit But i enjoyed it immensely.
I hate the ACA (Obamacare) and am going to pay the fine when I outgrow tricare at age 26.
I hate the ACA (Obamacare) and am going to pay the fine when I outgrow tricare at age 26.
Obamacare screwed my family out of good health insurance. Ironic isnt it? Its flawed. Companies either have to pay a 90$ fee for not covering, or pay 150$ to cover. What do you think they're going to pick? (the numbers are made up but the idea is the same)
I think the walking dead's only bad in that everyone's stupid and making poor decisions.
