I don't get the hate for casual games, typical among PC gamers. I mean I'm not what you'd call a "casual", as I've put 400 hours in to TF2 over the years, 300 hours roughly into various games in the Total War series, many more hours into other games such as in the DOOM series, Battlefield series (and more), and I'm currently re-playing Empire Earth 1 and 2.
But all that doesn't stop me or make it weird for me to play games like Plants vs. Zombies on my iPad, didn't stop me from buying and enjoying Peggle Nights on the PC, Indies such as Braid and World of Goo and many other "casual" games. Hasn't stopped me from playing the Halo and Call of Duty series and enjoying those (not exactly casual, but Facepunch seems to have a problem with those kinds of games).
Why can't games be looked at without the thought "hurrrrrrrrrr its a platformer with bright graphics hurrrrrr must be shit only casuals play that". I just don't see what is wrong with those kinds of games.
TF2 lost all of its charm a long time ago.

The reason people dislike them is because developers begin to try to appeal to the casual industry as opposed to their normal target audience, often causing a decrease in quality.
I don't care though, good developers of games that I like stick to their guns
megaman codename maverick hunter actually looked p. good before it got canceled

I thought this wasn't an unpopular opinion, or did fans get all X-COM 2011 about it?
The Avengers sucked dicks.
The Avengers sucked dicks.
I never even saw the movie
You had to be on acid to understand the movie A Space Odyssey.
Watched it the other day... if you got lost watching inception (I didnt), then I would strongly recommend that you dont even ponder the thought of watching this movie.
I think the AA-12 is a pretty cool gun.
I think the term "edgy", as in "omg ur so edgy" is stupid and massively overused, mostly by gigantic chucklefucks who can't think of a better response to something, regardless of whether I actually agree with them or not. It comes across as so unnecessarily pompous, I can't help but hate everyone that uses it.
e.g.
You're edgy as shit.
yeah he's a bell-end, but so are you.
The Avengers sucked dicks.
As always I can find a kindred soul on facepunch.
I saw that movie and thought it was an awful dudebro saturday morning cartoon turned into a boring CGI fest. Everyone else I know thinks it's the holy grail of films.
I played Happy Wheels once. Not too bad.

Hey thanks champ, glad you can pretend to be intellectually superior to me because I used a harmless term that you don't like but no gg you're real cool calling me retarded.

that's pretty funny considering you pretty much just got done lording over someone else for posting an unpopular opinion, which is harmless and affects no one, but you don't like it gg you're real cool for basically calling him a tryhard idiot. and now you're lording over me for stating an unpopular opinion while giving examples.

Lording over someone? Please. I called them edgy because that's obviously what they're trying to be.
Also I'm responding negatively to you because you basically called me a fucking idiot for disliking someone who thinks it's funny when 8 year olds die in explosions.
I can't enjoy/get into a lot of old games like Deus Ex because of the awkward mechanics and general datedness.

no sorry i called you an idiot for acting like a pompous windbag basically calling someone a child for using the thread to its designated use sorry to offend you my lord
very sorry such a dirty peasant such as myself would disgrace such a noblemans honour
please accept my words as i have no gold or silver to present to you
silly me; a peasant, thinking a thread called unpopular opinions would be a place to post unpopular opinions and not be belittled as a result, i'll go back to my cave to mine more of your precious metals now, king shitjesus.
This thread was such a bad idea.
very obviously upset.
Man and you called me condescending and pompous for saying the word edgy.
I can't fucking stand adele
All her songs are just like one verse and then the chorus repeated over and over and over god damn

people who know stuff about games are proud of themselves and act like it matters, basically.
there's nothing wrong with playing games casually.
Nothing wrong, playing games casually, choose one.
Nothing wrong, playing games casually, choose one.
thank you for proving his point
Oblivion and Fallout 3 are FUCKING SHIT, I can't stress this enough. THEY FUCKING SUCK. SO BAD.
Yeah that's a little extreme. But I don't know how people get over the engine, the shitty gameplay, the boring design, the bad voice acting, the lifeless characters, the robotic clunkyness of EVERYTHING.
I will admit, New Vegas was better it actually had a decent story, but it was held back so bad by the gamebyro engine. Fucking a man.
Skyrim was really shit and boring too but at least the gameplay, the engine, the voiceacting was a step in the right direction.
Nothing wrong, playing games casually, choose one.
What exactly is wrong with playing games casually? I know this might be an amazing notion for you but some of us do things other than playing games all day every day.

The worst gameplay decision in my opinion was bringing over Fallout's shitty luck based lockpicking system rather than keeping Oblivion's skill based system.

Oh man it's all just a blur of bad. At least skyrim kept my interest for a couple of hours though, but so would have oblivion if it was on a newer engine. It doesn't detract that they are shit games.
The hack and slash (or gunplay in FO3) gameplay literally had no feel or variety at all too it. Combat was a grind in boring dungeons that were stale and repetitive as fuck. The game was nowhere even near to being immersive due to it's bad voice-acting, border-line frightening looking ugly npcs, glitches, that fucking zoom-in thing, terrible animations. The list goes on and on. It baffles me how people like Oblivion or Fallout 3 at all.
A problem with Danish TV is that there are no censorship bleeps.
And a lack of blurring.
It makes it so boring to watch.

I think marijuana might as well be legalized, however I will always try to talk people out of actually using it.
There seems to be a popular opinion that it's basically harmless, but I've seen that's far from the case. It doesn't affect everyone the same way, but it can be a big motivation killer and I've seen more than one future ruined by it.
