A pre-HL2 skin for Steam would be awesome to see.
And you don't think that should be bannable?
It's making the forum good money
And noone that's knowledgeable is clicking it, though I do think adding a warning that "This is a title set by X, it may contain a malicious or non-safe-for-work link, are you sure you wish to go there?"
A very unpopular opinion for someone who isn't trolling: I think all anime is trash and stupid as shit. I think everything about it is idiotic and of the some two dozen animes I've caught glimpses of or watched over the past few years, every single one of them sucks equally bad. The only exception I could possibly make is Cowboy Bebop, but even then, it's not great, just isn't absolutely fucking horrible.

Why though?
The first season of the walking dead was okay but then it just sort of deflated into shite
if you want some of the worst acting and effects in a tv show that i have ever seen, check out (major spoilers for season 4 i think) [sp]hershel's death scene[/sp] on youtube.

TWD's acting is all over the place.
It has amazing moments, and it has moments where I swear the script is hidden behidn their backs.

If you check out the show's history, there's a reason for the quality drop after season 1.
Budget cuts, directors being fired, a lot of stress on the set, all that jazz.
Why though?
1. The art style is bad.
2. The characters are usually idiotic; the women are either total sex objects or extremely weak and in need of a man or extremely super-powerful and beating on men, men are either excessively feminine introverts or introverts who are extremely awkward and stupid or quiet "edgy loners" or old perverts. There's also talking animals and shit half the time.
3. Most animes I've seen are poorly written.
4. Anime has some fans who are worse than any furry or brony.
5. Anime is overrated.
6. Human beings do not have giant eyes and disproportionate foreheads.
[editline]9th January 2014[/editline]
And:
7. The comic relief is never funny.
All of that is strictly my own opinion though. I'm not saying it's definite or the truth.

I'll actually be the odd man out and agree with this to an extent.
However there are rare gems in anime, though most of it is fanservicey garbage.
Fullmetal Alchemist brotherhood and Attack on Titan are the ones that come off the top of my head, decent plots and actions and very limited "fan service"

Fullmetal Alchemist is like Bebop in my opinion; it isn't great, but I can at least watch it hating it. Attack on Titan isn't terrible either but I don't watch it because I think it has a dumb premise. Only reason, though.
Either read a good manga that isn't weeaboo pandering garbage or watch an anime that isn't weeaboo pandering garbage.
Yeah there is a lot of shit anime and manga just like there are a lot of shit comics and TV shows. Look harder or stop caring
If there's more trash anime than good anime, that means the trash defines the genre. There are good pop songs out there, but it doesn't change the fact that horrible artists define the genre.

Normal opinion of someone who doesn't like anime, it's true there's a lot of bad shows that are filled with fanservice and bad animations, there are some really good exceptions though, if you're willing to actually give it a chance and look for it...
All of that is strictly my own opinion though. I'm not saying it's definite or the truth.
... If you like 2D animations enough to give anime a chance, you could search for some genre you like, but I wouldn't blame you if you'd find that annoying and time-wasting to do. the amount of shows that are just sexually suggestive and have millions of anti-climatic jokes is pretty stupid, good thing there are a lot of good shows that aren't anime.
the "marijuana kills less than alcohol/tobacco and thus should be legalized" it's a pretty shit argument and I can believe it's really popular with the people.
I have nothing against legalization.

how is it a shit argument? it's saying that it's a drug that kills less than other, legal alternatives, and yet it's illegal
how is it a shit argument? it's saying that it's a drug that kills less than other, legal alternatives, and yet it's illegal
Obviously the argument means we should make alchohol illegal

90% of anything is trash. Movies, tv shows, music, etc.
Also anime isn't a genre, it's a medium. Anime can be anything animated that happens to be made in Japan. A lot of it is horrible garbage with derivative designs, but there's no rule that an anime has to have huge eyes or stupid pink hair and there's plenty of examples of unique artstyles.
It's definitely a lot of shit to wade through, but it seems unfair to blame the entirety of Japanese animation just because weeaboos are annoying and mainstream shows are shallow pieces of shit.
It's like saying all US animation is crap like Family Guy. A lot of the animation made in the US is lowbrow adult comedy, but that doesn't make US animation a 'genre' consisting of nothing but that.
When you do that you're just generalizing and shitting all over hardworking animators and directors entirely because they happen to work in a particular country.
I barely watch anime, but if a series seems worth my time then I'll keep an open mind, and I've found plenty of interesting stuff that I wouldn't have found otherwise.
Maybe everything ever is just trash.
And we live in a bullshit world.

That's because AMC took most of the budget away, and fired the original director.

Their #1 show.
#1 show on television.
What do you do?
Cut its budget.
AMC's logic.
Roger Craig Smith is a better voice for Sonic the Hedgehog than Ryan Drummond or Jason Griffith

I watched the first season and a bit of the second but I thought it was getting way too cliché to be enjoyable

have you tried any Studio Ghibli animations? they're the only pieces of japanese animation I really like personally. The cat returns, my neighbour Totoro, princess Mononoke, and Nausicaa of the valley of the wind are all really great, and porco rosso is legit funny as fuck

I like Studio Ghibli because it isn't "anime" in the popular sense, more like Japanese artwork. I don't like all of Ghibli's movies because some of them make so little sense and become too surreal for their own good, but some are really good. I don't count them as "anime" because they have nothing in common with typical anime.
Platinum Games should team up with Games Workshop to make a spectacle fighter following the Sisters of Battle, which would likely end up with them being portrayed as a proper fighting force of the Inquisition and not a disposable army like the Imperial Guard.

Well, kids under 6 years old drunk driving kill less than alcohol
Should it be legal to give a child a driving license then?

boy you sure love generalizations
i can't even remember the last time i watched anime and i know that what you're saying is BS, not all anime is that generic, you're hating on all of it because you assume it's all the same thing
My point being:
Some people like to think that this is the single most important excuse for legalization, which of course it isn't.

a kid driving a car is related to a type of drug how, exactly? what you just said makes no sense because they have nothing in common with each other. however, weed, alcohol and cigarettes are all recreational drugs with harmful effects of varying degrees, and yet the worst ones are the ones that are legal.
a kid driving a car is related to a type of drug how, exactly? what you just said makes no sense because they have nothing in common with each other. however, weed, alcohol and cigarettes are all recreational drugs with harmful effects of varying degrees, and yet the worst ones are the ones that are legal.
I don't think you got the analogy.
Things that don't kill people should be legal
B is legal
A is ilegal
A kills less than B
Therefor, it makes no sense for A to be ilegal.
It sounds like a sound argument when A and B happen to be drugs. But then you put this argument under scrutinity, and in a broader sense it makes you reach unfounded and ilogical premises. You cannot meassure a degree of harmlessness based on superficial observations like "X kills less than Y" or "There are not reported deaths attributed to X", and then try to legalize such things based on such arguments.

"alcohol and cigarettes kill more than weed" is just a short phrase that's often thrown around in discussions as an argument. are you denying it makes a point? why do you assume people use it intending to cover all aspects of the discussion? do you think that if you said "what about the other, non lethal harmful effects of weed?" to someone who used that sentence, they'd just go on tilt and be unable to talk, as you've just obliterated their only argument?
no, they'd talk about those effects, and they'd probably mention that alcohol and cigarettes also have harmful but non-lethal effects on people, and that the ones weed has are negligible with moderate use, just like with the other two, legal drugs. it could be said that "alcohol and cigarettes kill more than weed and thus weed should be legal" is just a shortened version of the whole argument.
People need to stop arguing that everyone should tolerate gays because they're born that way. It's irrelevant. If some bigot concedes that he should leave them alone just because they're born gay, it gives him license to continue sticking his nose in business that doesn't affect him as long as someone chooses it.
We need to be telling people that they should be tolerating gays because, like it or not, what consenting adults do in the bedroom is none of your business whatsoever.
