4chan is no better then reddit.
possibly worse.
Maybe you should make a thread about Ironic Opinions, because you talked about hating Tumblr in general for irrationally hating everything. :v:
I've hated just about everything that I've personally seen come out of tumblr, and disliked the brief yet annoying stint I had there.

Good job succeeding at following only people you hate. Good thing the site isn't designed around ignoring those you dislike and following those you like or anything.
You're doing great at judging a unique community platform by a single demographic of its userbase.

It comes up so much in this fucking thread and it's amazing to me just how many people don't get it. Hating 17 year olds isn't hating tumblr.
Optimism is good but honestly if I'm having a bad day, a total optimist is about the worst person to talk to.
"oh it's not that bad, at least you're not X" is not always a pleasant thing to hear
Most mmorpg's are the same boring thing with different styles. The game play is one of the most boring of game genres.
Most MMORPGS are just WOW clones.
I can think of some good ones, but the quest-athon ones really bore me.

The thing with this is that's just not a good strategy for cheering people up. I don't think that has much to do with optimists as it does just bad psychology.
[editline]20th January 2014[/editline]
Shoving people into one category or the other is shitty regardless IMO.
Oh wow it's almost like I have an unpopular opinion
labeling it as unpopular doesn't change the fact that it's a biased opinion with no logic behind it
tumblr has millions of users. i say this everytime someone posts that: you'll only see awkward kids who hate everything, annoying 15 year old girls and crazy ass feminists (feel free to stick any other tumblr stereotype here) if you follow those people. it makes no sense to complain about something you'll literally not see on that website unless you actively search for it
I hate the over exaggeration circlejerks that almost everything on the internet turns into, especially tumblr.
"OMH I'M DYING"
"STAHP NO IM CRYING"
"OMG LOL LITERALLY FELL OUT OF MY CHAIR"
"HAHA I JUST SHAT MYSELF"
Just..... no.
[editline]20th January 2014[/editline]
Actually, I also just sort of hate tumblr in general.
Sorry kids, but hating everything and being awkward isn't cool.
what about >*reaction image* replies
do those annoy you as much as tumblr? imo they're worse because at least you can delete replies you don't like when making a post on tumblr.

of course you're going to hate a website if you have a warped view of it. why do you think people still hate the entirety of reddit? why do light internet users still hate 4chan? why do you think people who only know about facepunch through a video showcasing hundreds of bans hate facepunch? you're really clueless if i have to answer any of those questions.

I hate tumblr because they take gifs, slice them into pieces and then post them.
Or that some people ruin gifs by adding their own name to some anime gif as if they own the anime.
Or when they randomly cut it up into 3 gifs, and all 3 gifs have to be next to eachother just to tell what the gif is.
Basically Tumblr ruins gifs.

When I saw posts that do that, at first I thought it was because of the limitations.
But if not, why do they even do that?

They do so because of very strange file size restrictions.
[editline]20th January 2014[/editline]
the adding of names thing goes for literally the entire internet though.

because of the limited filesize for uploads, and sometimes it's easier to scroll by and process a grid of 6 gifs than one long, continuous gif which would make scrolling through your blog a lot slower than it needs to be.
[editline]20th January 2014[/editline]
here's an example i found by seaching for gif sets, excuse the anime
http://ohayocelestia.tumblr.com/post/74023252769
would this post be better if it was one continuous gif? no, that would be fucking retarded.
[editline]20th January 2014[/editline]
also, i'd rather scroll by a series of gifs than stop, click a video, wait for it to buffer, then continue.

If it's factually wrong it's not an opinion.

Tumblr is great for gifs. The only problem is quality, random bloom and strange quotes being added.
Honestly FP is one of the most divided and least hivemindy forums out there.

you should see how fast it takes for a joke to go from inf funnies to inf dumbs just because one person says "I dont like this anymore."

That still makes it
a view or judgement formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge
Not a very good example, to be honest. There's no context to this .gif, no captions or explanation as to who this character is, what they're doing, and why. At least most other Tumblr .gifs keep the captions or tell us what's going on. It would still be better as a single, continuous file.
let's all just use apng
Girls look best with messy hair and casual/very casual clothes. It perplexes me that they'd want to wear formal dresses and high heels when tracksuit, baggy shirts and comfortable/no footwear looks better.

I think that for the most part, people in general look better in casual clothes. Baggy old sweat pants/tracksuit rarely look flattering (well, tracksuits are good for that russian mafiya look...) but jeans and an interesting Tshirt>>>>>formal dresses or suits and ties any day, imo
sweatpants look pretty shit on anyone, they're cosy as fuck though.
Pretty much all synthetic substances that are approved safe for human consumption/use is exactly that.
Anal sucks
The worst thing that has ever happened to the gaming community is the intellectualization of videogames. I can't spend more than five minutes browsing player-generated footage on YouTube without coming across
- some dude bloviating about a benighted consortium of publishers trying to appeal to "bro gamers" or some other phantasmagorical group, who in reality are just businessmen trying to make a profit like anyone else
- a Steam junkie aggrandizing the role of indie games as some sort of answer to the paucity of "artful" games on the mainstream market (what happened to the maxim popular among these revisionist types that "one's own definition of art is purely subjective"?)
- or a sophist making the faddish but artificial distinction between graphics and the nebulous "aesthetics."
All three of these examples are more or less part of a zeitgeist which believes that the apotheosis of videogames is marked by their attainment of an artistic status comparable to literature or cinema, which I don't necessarily agree with, because art is only one of the things that makes up the repertoire of human cultural activity, the others being entertainment, ritual, and sport. Videogames should be for entertainment.

really depends, baggy shirts look like crap imo, shoes ehh, doesn't matter too much. Some formal dresses look really nice.
Depends on the situation I suppose, in the street yeah, why are you wearing a dress and high heels?
But if someone looks way too casual it looks like they don't really give a shit about anything.
If you see a guy who's well dressed who gelled his hair well, shaved, nice clothes, etc. against a guy with messy, oily hair, t-shirt and sweat pants. The guy who's dressed well looks like he just cares more about life in general, and seems like a more appealing person.
The guy who's dressed well looks like he just cares more about life in general, and seems like a more appealing person.
Or the well-dressed individual could be a wealthy, conceited bastard who cares about his money above all else, while the disheveled man is a more down-to-earth, friendly kind of dude who puts his friends and family above the way he looks.
