I highly doubt you LITERALLY have arachnophobia In most cases arachnophobia isn't even a real phobia for people, they're just afraid of something they don't know too much about, spiders are small, hairy, and "many" can cause great harm to you (most do produce venom, but very few are actually able to hurt you), so thus, many people are terrified of them. In america, the brown recluse spider is really the only one you should be too concerned about(and it's mostly confined to the southern states, and a couple more northern ones), the tarantulas in america are a joke compared to old-world tarantulas, and widow spiders (especially the black widow) are more than content to stay out of your way, and bites are usually provoked. A phobia is an irrational fear, but for people who aren't too educated on spiders it's actually pretty reasonable for them to be afraid of them.
If I read this correctly, are you pretty much saying that he doesn't really have an irrational fear because he has no rationality behind it? That doesn't make any sense. An irrational fear is just that. If he finds spiders terrifying, then he finds spiders terrifying. The low number of "dangerous" spiders in the US doesn't have anything to do with it.

I said it's reasonable for them to be afraid of it.

I'm afraid of being in the same room as one. And I used to know a lot about spiders before I became afraid of them. It's not a fear of what I don't understand, it's a fear of a four-eyed, eight-legged monster that comes in many shapes, sizes, and species. How would you feel if I just posted a gigantic, high resolution picture of something that you're deeply afraid of, and when you ask me to cover it up, I just say "oh it's not a real fear, you're being irrational"?
Fire, although the least practical method of exterminating outdoor insect nests, remains by far the most entertaining method
I think people have gone too far with lewd avatars
Lewd avatars are just plain stupid, no matter how far out goes.
I get what you're saying, but the problem with how people judge based on that is that then you're stereotyping a very large and by no means unified group by a small vocal minority, which is also something that I don't think you should do.
I agree, which is why I said "extremist". It's just like Muslims, everyone judges them based off of a select group.
I couldn't give two shits about the presentation of new graphic engines and how mindblowing the next generation of games will look. Adding some particle effects and shaders doesn't impress me at all. I don't get why people are so obsessed by it.
I think people have gone too far with lewd avatars
When the new large avatars came out I think it was worse but has gotton better.
I have a few baby-tier videogame unpopular opinions. I thought Dishonored was too easy, to the point where I got fucking bored and dropped it. I prefer the PS3's controller to the 360's, but (from what I've experienced so far) I prefer the Xbox One's controller to the PS4's. I didn't like the first Deus Ex. I don't like MOBA games.
If BF4 wasn't plauged with technical problems it would be fucking dope. It's fun as hell on PS4, but you're stuck with a controller.
Daniel Tosh is an annoying jackass.
Thats the joke. Do you also think Steven Colbert is an egotistic idiot?
I don't like Polandball. What's the humor in it? To me it's just another meme face-esque thing that isn't as popular.
I think having a game exclusive to a certain modern console is just dumb. Like, I understand why Nintendo, Atari, and Sega did it in the 80s and 90s, but back then some consoles were more powerful than the others, in terms of graphics, memory, all that good stuff. But now, it just seems like a way to get people to buy their console. Seems pretty selfish to me.
69 jokes are stupid.
i still love them tho
Thats the joke. Do you also think Steven Colbert is an egotistic idiot?
No, I don't. Even if Daniel Tosh isn't actually the way he is in his show, I still find him annoying.

Imo things like RTS and FPS and other games of the sort should be on PC, same with things like MMO's, though Diablo went well (and I know it's not an MMO but still) and spectacle fighters a la DMC and God of War should only be on consoles. This is just me though.
Season 8 of Dexter was pretty... good?!
I think everybody hides behind rules so much that nobody does things themselves. 'Rights' essentialy boils down to 'Do what you want, just try not to upset people because they can also do what they want'. other 'rights' are essentially ruined by inequality. The biggest problem with anarchy is the free market that'd come with it. Eventually corporations would become literally governments. Communism and fascism might be different ideologies but they'd probably feel the same for anyone who's a worker. An authoritarian government isn't innately a bad thing. Dictatorships aren't innately a bad thing, so long as the dictator's pretty good. Socialism is better than capitalism. With an aging population and tech ever getting better. We'l probably get to the stage where everyone's an old fart and robots have got all the jobs. At that point i expect some kind of radical change. Throwing out the elbows today.
Rekoil was a decent concept, it's been way too long since we had a shooter that did away with progression grinding and tried to offer mod support. Still a terribly executed game though.
The Smartness system could do for a comeback
The Smartness system could do for a comeback
The fact if you use capitalization or not has no real relationship to the quality of what you say.
The fact if you use capitalization or not has no real relationship to the quality of what you say.
It isn't a coincidence that the users who always posted without capitalisation or punctuation were huge douches. It also isn't a coincidence that they're all permabanned.
The fact if you use capitalization or not has no real relationship to the quality of what you say.
Referred to Smartness as a proper noun :x
It isn't a coincidence that the users who always posted without capitalisation or punctuation were huge douches. It also isn't a coincidence that they're all permabanned.
I always forget to use punctuation here, am I a douche? :c
I always forget to use punctuation here, am I a douche? :c
Naw, I mean the ones who deliberately made every post without punctuation or anything. the ones who post everything like this even when they were making obnoxiously long posts which make it infuriating to read [editline]29th January 2014[/editline] But as I said, they're all gone now.
It isn't a coincidence that the users who always posted without capitalisation or punctuation were huge douches. It also isn't a coincidence that they're all permabanned.
Except that the population of people deserving of permabans is merely a group within a larger population of people who don't use spelling/capitalization. The latter does not exclusively consist of the former on FP.
I always forget to use punctuation here, am I a douche? :c
I think as long as your sentences have a proper meaning and are not full of erros, it's okay for me. It's very enjoyable to read a post that uses somewhat proper language and capitalization. Going on other forums is always a pain for me due to the shitty grammar.
The fact if you use capitalization or not has no real relationship to the quality of what you say.
It makes things nicer to read when the quality of writing is better. If you write a really awful run-on sentence that won't end your opinion may be great, but noone of us wishes to read it.
