So if I dont like hair in a certain part of the body I'm shallow, what Are guys that like short haired girls also shallow? And are they hypocrites if they don't have short hair too?
He's not talking about preferences. He uses the word 'disgusting.' If said guy found girls with long hair disgusting, that would be shallow too.
The Wii U is great and would be getting more attention if everybody wasn't circlejerking over hardware. Cartridges are superior to disks.
Hardware doesn't really matter, the people who care so much about hardware are idiots.
I think the Steam Box and SteamOS are both really good ways to introduce PC gaming to a less-informed crowd, but Valve really needs to stop with the controller. With a touchpad or without, it just looks uncomfortable and confusing to use.
The majority of people on the internet can't debate for shit.
Hardware doesn't really matter, the people who care so much about hardware are idiots.
Better hardware allows the developers to do more things and be more creative.
Better hardware allows the developers to do more things and be more creative.
Poor technology has actually helped things too, such as jaws, and silent hill. In jaws the shark rarely worked, so they rarely used it, leaving things to the viewers' imaginations. And silent hill did much the same, the game wasn't rendered clearly, and you couldn't see too much.

Both limitations and freedom enable creativity in their own respects. Chiptune music is a great example of limitations resulting in awesome music, and the newest version of Cryengine is an example of ridiculously super prettiness as a result of more possibilites.
Chiptune music is a great example of limitations resulting in awesome music
I thought most chiptune composers use more instruments than what's allowed on archaic hardware. :x
I thought most chiptune composers use more instruments than what's allowed on archaic hardware. :x
Some do, and some swear by the actual limitations of the original hardware. Some even refuse to emulate the synthesizers and actually use the hardware itself with modded cartridges and recording the output. It all depends on how insane the artist is, haha.
Better hardware allows the developers to do more things and be more creative.
The issue with people criticizing the WiiU's specs though is that games on the WiiU really look just fine. They're an improvement over the Xbox 360 and even PS3. Just as with the Wii and basically every previous Nintendo console they tend to have the weakest specs of the generation. It's nothing remotely new. Nintendo's reasons for weaker specs is because they want both devs and players to just concentrate on having fun rather than graphical fidelity as well as trying to keep the cost of the console down as low as they can reasonably manage.
He's not talking about preferences. He uses the word 'disgusting.'
but that IS a preference, why the fuck does it matter if i use a word like "disgusting" instead of "ugly"
I really don't mind Reddit (this forum had a hivemind where every user hates reddit for some reason). One of the problems I have with the site is its users and how they post. They post the stupidest replies to a comment, then it just ladders down to even stupider replies. It's annoying trying to scroll past it without skimming it.
You're likely just browsing the wrong (popular) subreddits. Strangely enough, whenever a meme (related, counts as a stupid post) is found in a comment, it gets downvoted nearly to oblivion. A lot of said subreddits even have rules against memes.

Apparently it's too hard to just stick to those who do cater to your tastes and ignore those who don't.

It's also why I use FP, beucase FP has the best forum layout I've seen (Helps that its arginally less awful tahn most forums) Best part is FP generally doesnt have quote trees whch looks awful and stretrches pages like no tomorrow
Honestly Reddit's community outside of the dumb, spammy popular reddits is seemingly exactly the same as Facepunch. Most are moderately intelligent, ~50% possess some knowledge in the sub-topic, all have a tad sense of superiority (sometimes for good reason), and carry a strong distaste for mainstream internet fads (eg: memes). I only have a problem with the censor-like voting system. In FP, we have ratings which, while capable of devaluing posts and stuff, don't prevent you from seeing the posts entirely as Reddit does.
I do fin it hard to bring myself to be part of a community that tried to protect child porn under free speech though
Wait, what are you talking about?
Wait, what are you talking about?
facepunch obv.
I know that, I'm talking about when did this whole CP discussion take place?
I know that, I'm talking about when did this whole CP discussion take place?
i was joking its reddit [editline]14th March 2014[/editline] or atleast i think so, never been to reddit
but that IS a preference, why the fuck does it matter if i use a word like "disgusting" instead of "ugly"
You're implying that a woman can only be either sexy or ugly to you (I doubt that's what you really mean). Ugly and disgusting are both insults. Hair length really makes you feel that way?
i was joking its reddit [editline]14th March 2014[/editline] or atleast i think so, never been to reddit
Phew. I remember there was a thread on here about the lolicon ban in whatever country and pretty much everyone including Garry was opposed to it, but that's the closest thing I've ever seen on Facepunch.

I forget exactly how it went down, but r/jailbait (and a couple of other subreddits I think) caused a huge controversy because it straddled the line between child porn and/or included actual child porn sometimes, and that lead to people defending it using reddit's "free speech" stance. Eventually it was shut down though. Loli isn't even on the same level and I completely agree with the people opposing bans on that. It may be super ultra mega creepy but at the end of the day they're not real kids and no one is getting hurt. Burning people who look at Loli at the stake as paedophiles is ridiculous and accomplishes nothing.
