I guess the idea is that the legend of St Patty banishing snakes represents him banishing the native pagan Irish?
I don't follow.

It means St Patrick came over, told the native pagans (the snake is an early Pagan symbol I believe) to fuck off, And converted everyone to Christianity.

Also p sure he killed a bunch of people.

I don't recall him killing people. He was a single dude acting on his own, going around converting people.
I don't think the pagan Irish were that strongly wedded to their original beliefs.
Better hardware allows the developers to do more things and be more creative.
Are you telling me people were less creative before "good" hardware existed? What about games like minecraft, which is arguably one of the most creative games out there and is literally made of cubes?
Realistically people have this hard-on for good console hardware, but having two consoles with slightly differing hardware doesn't mean the weaker one is inherently worse. Look how much better the Xbox did over the PS3 despite the PS3 being regarded as having much better hardware.
[editline]17th March 2014[/editline]
Hardware doesn't really make the games better it just allows for more graphically intense games, but after a certain threshold hardware and graphics get hit from diminishing returns pretty hard. Crysis came out 7 years ago, but still looks better than games that come out today, despite all the advances in hardware it still looks hyper realistic.

the complication with the PS3 was that while the hardware was better, it was difficult for developers to get used to making stuff for it efficiently
yeah sure you can have great games despite not having much processing power, but more processing power opens up new possibilities (if used properly) other than improved graphics, such as improved AI, or for example using fluids as a major game mechanic because you can simulate them reasonably well in real time
[editline]17th March 2014[/editline]
all of that hinges on the dev team having enough imagination in the first place to make something really cool with new stuff though

I know about the PS3's issue, but does having better hardware inherently make things better though? Are there other tradeoffs to consider?
And I'm not saying having good hardware is bad, but there are people who think you need to have the best hardware to have fun, yet there are lots of creative games which don't require the best hardware. My original point was about the Wii U, the Wii U could still be fun while still not having the strongest hardware. It's not like having weaker hardware is actually holding it back, people just think that it does.

this is sort of more what i was getting at
Very unpopular opinion, I think people with "depression" are basically weak individuals who just need quit whining and man the fuck up.
good thing you're not a qualified medical doctor - no doctor would actually say this. you may as well call someone weak for 'not getting over' mania or add if you're just gonna strut around this lazy point of view.
Titanfall looks really boring and uninteresting.
Titanfall looks really boring and uninteresting.
Don't knock it 'til you try it.
It's easily the most fun I've had with an FPS in years.
Titanfall looks really boring and uninteresting.
Same but with Watch Dogs, I'm not really getting the hype for that one
I think Saint's Row 3 did online and customization a multillion times better than GTAV.
Titanfall looks really boring and uninteresting.
You have to play it to understand the hype. It's the most mobile FPS released in years
Blurred lines is a garbage song
Very unpopular opinion, I think people with "depression" are basically weak individuals who just need quit whining and man the fuck up.
You have to be pretty fucking sheltered to not know the difference between genuinely depressed people and pussies who need to quit bitching.
Blurred lines is a garbage song
If you're able to ignore the lyrics it's pretty decent, but when it comes to retro hits last year we had treasure and get lucky which are so much better.

He's prolly high school age.
Cold pizza > reheated pizza
Cold pizza > reheated pizza
Pizza just lacks the ability to reheat and people shouldn't try
On the OTHER hand, lasagna and macaroni & cheese reheat like, perfectly.
SH is being fucking naive about Russia. They keep saying that there's nothing to worry about.
Russia is being fucking scary right now, of course I'm going to fucking worry, if Ukraine goes to war, and America has no other choice but to go with it, then we all get fucked.
Cold pizza > reheated pizza
Depends on the type of pizza. I love cold pepperoni pizza, but always microwave supreme pizza.

What kind of pleb microwave are you using, mine reheats to perfection, almost as good as when I got it fresh the night before
Pizza reheats like a god
I only eat pizza cold if I'm out of ranch.
cold pizza is the bomb, reheated pizza is ok
if you're using a microwave to reheat pizza you're wrong though
I find it odd that we skipped grayscale when transitioning from black and white photocopiers and scanners to full color.
Reverse-discrimination is a garbage practice
I find it odd that we skipped grayscale when transitioning from black and white photocopiers and scanners to full color.
1 colour -> 4 colours.
Why would all of those colours be grays it's literally the same amount of coordination.

Well, it's just that black and white scanners/photocopiers often detect darker shades as pitch black.
CGI effects are not inherently bad or evil.
CGI effects are not inherently bad or evil.
I don't think anyone thinks that. It's more people are getting sick of over-dependence on them.
For instance, the Star Wars prequels not only look lame, but the limitations of the blue-screen sets combined with Lucas' shit direction and dependence on cramming as much shiny CGI garbage on screen at once hurt the movie's... Everything. The best option is a combination of CGI effects alongside practical effects and a physical set.
The best option is a combination of CGI effects alongside practical effects and a physical set.
See: Jurassic Park.
That film is still stunning

And while I think CGI has it's place, physical sets are always better and using an all CGI set just looks bad.
Seriously, any of the ship interiors from Alien look unquestionably better than any "set" in, say, the Star Wars prequels or Avatar.
