the idea of early access is to help fund broke indie devs & get a game for a bit cheaper

you can't really develop a game with no money

Kickstarter exists for a reason.
Kickstarter exists for a reason.
Kickstarter isn't available everywhere though.
However I have to say I'm tired of seeing all these earls access games. Two thirds of Steam's store page are always early access games and preorders.

If you feel that way just don't buy it. they're not holding you at gunpoint

That's more an issue with pre-ordering in general. I do hate how popular it's becoming to release a game as early access just to use it as a cover for never finishing it, though.
Petrol smells really nice and I would totally buy an air freshener in that scent.
I used to think the exact same way about sharpies when I was a kid.
Then my Mom told me people used them to get high. From that day forward, sharpie markers smelled gross to me.

It's either that, or game developers won't take the risk of developing a full game for a lot of money and when they release it, it's a total flop. Early access is a good way to develop a game and, without investing too much money in it, have the feedback of his future community to tweak things up before investing time and money in it. They can try some new things with early access, and crowd-founding, because it doesn't need to be a full complete game where a lot of money is spent.
It's either that, or game developers will take no risk, and simply make Assassin's Creed 12 and Call of Duty 47, and make millions.
Except those games are still being made. AAA developers don't go through Early Access, Kickstarter, or anything like that.
These games will exist as long as there's still people to buy it. Changing an industry takes time.
I didn't like Pulp Fiction.
I don't understand why people love it so much to be honest.
By using Early Access and Kickstarting you are investing, and sometimes investments don't work out.
Welcome to the world of business.
I think I'll abridge this..
Racism is an ugly truth. Have you ever been to Switzerland? THAT is a country that has its shit together. The way they do things is systematic and efficient. The biggest internal problem Switzerland is facing? Immigrants. Before I get trampled for this, take a visit to Switzerland. You'll see very little diversity. The whole country is comprised of four different kinds of white people. Finland, too! Don't even try to tell me you haven't heard about how Finland is so great. A good 91% of the population is of a Finnish background, and Finland is very difficult to immigrate to. Finland is only getting better and better. Sorry to make it a race thing, but sometimes it's simply a race thing.
And the rate dogpiling begins...not once have I ever been impressed, Facepunch.
Many developers don't even treat Early-Access like a investment.
Many of the blue Early-Access description boxes read like sales pitches rather than investment information.
Look at Rust's description:
“We are in very early development. Some things work, some things don't. We haven't totally decided where the game is headed - so things will change. Things will change a lot. We might even make changes that you think are wrong. But we have a plan. It's in our interest to make the game awesome - so please trust us.”
It says nothing about the game and literally just says please trust us. If it wasn't for the fact that I knew Garry cared about the games he made I wouldn't even give it a second look.

disgusting
Here's a big one: I think humanity's role in climate change is often over-exaggerated for political purposes.
I think feminism, over-sensitivity, and political correctness has completely ruined most of the first world society we currently have.

Except actual investments can actually pay off.
Kickstart backing is pretty much being an investor with none of the perks of investing. Most of the time it just looks like pricy pre-ordering to me.
Bacon is shit
We certainly don't help
When did I say otherwise? I'm just saying people make it out like we're a bigger deal than we are.
A pretty good example would be the "climate name change" campaign that got posted on the video section back here, which in addition to being outright slander, was claiming that human involvement was responsible for "a recent increase in hurricanes", despite there being no correlation between emissions and hurricanes, and hurricanes being at their lowest in 200 years.

Liberals in general ruined America.
You don't get the perks of investing in the stock market, no. But you do realize the decisions publishers have to make and why they rarely take chances on new IP's and shit. You're investing in the game and dev, hoping they do pull through in the end to finish their game.
Store-bought Bacon is shit
Ye.
If you buy bacon from farmers who cold smoke it in a small wooden hut, its fucking awesome. Store-bought bacon just does not compare to farm or butcher bacon.

NOM.
If we wan't a better society parents need to stop letting the government and TV babysit and teach their children. And we need to stop banning things because to protect our kids because as a parent you should decide what your child watches/does and should be responsible for that.
The gameplay in BioShock Infinite is just as generic as the gameplay in the first BioShock.
But the first Bioshock was anything but generic
Megaman Battle Network games are the best Megaman games.
I don't understand the circle-jerking over Titanfall. It just doesn't seem that great or new.

You have to play it to feel the hype.
I never understood the Metal Gear franchise. It doesn't appeal to me much.
And on the subject of games I don't get, why is there such a giant fanbase for Resident Evil? Everything but pre-RE4 was complete garbage in my opinion. They aren't even scary. Hell, the first one was downright a fucking comedy. I just don't get how a franchise with such consistently bad gameplay and ludicrously bad story (even admitted by its fans) has such a huge following, unlike Metal Gear where I actually can see the appeal.
Also, I am not sure if it is unpopular or not, but Starbound is not very good. I got bored after 30 minutes and quit. It is basically Terraria. Hell, there isn't even the IN SPACE part, because barely any of it has space themes until you sink in hours of menial work. Why should a fucking space robot have to build a goddamn bow and arrow?

i'd be lying if i said i knew how to reply to this.
You have to play it to feel the hype.
I shall play it as soon as Aspyr port it. But in all honesty from the copious amount of gameplay I have seen it looks like a combo of HAWKEN, Call of Duty with Assassin's Creed-style parkour thrown in. Which doesn't seem overly exciting and/or new to me.
I think feminism, over-sensitivity, and political correctness has completely ruined most of the first world society we currently have.
Political Correctness and over-sensitivity have certainly damaged it in a way, but first world society is far from ruined. I'm stumped on what "type" (And I use that term very lightly) of feminism you're talking about.
