this, so much wh40k is just super boring to me because people always explain it saying things like "dude... billions of people die every day in wh40k... they sacrifice 932483290432 people to the god emperor... there are 2000 3242 trillion orcs, dude... that's so awesome!! they use magical space guns that work because they want them to!" it's just so "extreme" that it hurts my brain. [editline]23rd March 2014[/editline] i feel the same way about MGR. people always go on about how WACKY and CRAZY it is, but it's just.... decent?
tbh that's why the (well-written) fluff is good because you can get a picture of one small subset of the universe and not the boring "highlights" that show up in the codices etc. although the highlights are fun at first and once in a while they get tiresome since they're what all the shitty cringey fans who just discovered 40k focus on with their meme shit spam
I don't get why people hate it that much, the story isn't the point. It's like in dynasty warriors or kingdom hearts for video games, ignorable story, fun action.
The action isnt really the best and the fact that it's pg 13 is almost offensive to the movies it references/is based on [editline]23rd March 2014[/editline]
Most dramatic TV shows are pretty darn racist.
I find Capitalism to be more suited to a Utopian Philosophy.
As in the current economic system?
Most dramatic TV shows are pretty darn racist. The black characters always die all the time. I'm looking at you The Walking Dead.
There was a black guy on Breaking Bad named Gus and he owned a chicken chain. Only major black guy role on BB and he owns a chicken chain. That's racist.
I liked sonic labyrinth
There was a black guy on Breaking Bad named Gus and he owned a chicken chain. Only major black guy role on BB and he owns a chicken chain. That's racist.
Last I checked, Huell was a pretty major character and he was still alive too
I think the Wii U is a genuinely innovative and fun console, and the graphics, while generally considered to be last generation, don't seem so bad to me.
Whew, I actually almost got serious there. Shit son, don't play with a girl's heart.
hmm, maybe I need to try harder then WH40k is really bad!!
I think TotalBiscuit is a fucking god awful youtuber.
I think TotalBiscuit is a fucking god awful youtuber.
for no reason apparently?
for no reason apparently?
No, I just think a lot of his views on Game Design are skewed and generally disagree with him. I won't mention the anger issues because he did acknowledge that stuff. I should specify and say I think his content is really bad, but that he as a person is getting better. His fans are fucking rabid though.
tbh that's why the (well-written) fluff is good because you can get a picture of one small subset of the universe and not the boring "highlights" that show up in the codices etc. although the highlights are fun at first and once in a while they get tiresome since they're what all the shitty cringey fans who just discovered 40k focus on with their meme shit spam
Pretty much this. A lot of people do tend to get overly excited by the large scale of 40K and only like to talk about how huge, dark, violent, and depressing shit is happening all the time, which can get old really fast. But if you dig around enough and read the smaller stories from various armies it's got some good stuff in there. Although I do have to agree that as much as I love 40K ( mostly for painting the models and playing games with them ) that the fluff can be a little too extreme at times. I think what most people like about it though is the science-fantasy themes. [editline]23rd March 2014[/editline]
yeah, everything's just too big in wh40k. also the facepunch circlejerks are just god-awful, like jesus christ sometimes they stretch multiple pages of people just going "ahahhaha heresy!!! dakka!! orcs! blood for the blood god!"
Don't go into 40K threads outside of the actual 40k megathread ( if you don't like 40k, ) otherwise this is pretty much all you'll see and get the impression that this is all that 40k is about.
Maybe a bit cynical, but I am starting to believe Americans are largely oblivious to World Politics. In that, what they believe they know, they do not. At least not to the extent they would like to think. For instance, this situation between Russia and Ukraine/Crimea. It's all "Screw Russia, they're evil and should be punished!" or they only think Russia invaded some Slavic country. No understanding behind what's going on, the motives behind it, how both Countries (and citizens) are taking it. It's just blind 'arch enemy' hate. It doesn't help Obama is acting like a putz about it all, but i'm frankly flat-faced against the floor over the fact that i've run into people who have no idea anything is even going on. And we wonder why the Country is run by what it is and has done what it has. I've tried to talk LIGHT politics, in person or over Facebook/Text/Chat, and most people- outside of their generalized opinion, refuse to talk Politics like its some sort of Taboo subject. It makes them uncomfortable and i've even had people get in my face about it. It's not like im drilling their opinions and calling them out on it either, just asking opinions and sharing mine. People get offensive about it. I don't really understand why.
As in the current economic system?
Capitalism as a whole is more suited to human psychology, so yes.
sonic cd is my favorite sonic videogame. idk if thats popular or unpopular
sonic cd is my favorite sonic videogame. idk if thats popular or unpopular
That isn't unpopular at all, people love Sonic CD.
Capitalism as a whole is more suited to human psychology, so yes.
I wasn't sure what you meant by "I find Capitalism to be more suited to a Utopian Philosophy." You mean that capitalism is more suitable than a philosophy you deem utopian. I thought you meant that the principles of capitalism are utopian. Maybe clearer to say "I find capitalism more suitable to human psychology than some opposing utopian philosophies" or something like that. I'm not really sure I agree. I think that human nature and behaviour has perhaps in a way changed to suit capitalism and consumerism rather than capitalism being some perfect reflection of the human psyche. It certainly seems in many ways the best system we have managed to sustain to match our needs thus far. There are many different flavours of capitalism at work in the world today. The type I describe as seeming the best we have thus far is the type in action in nations commonly considered more "developed" where workers actually have rights and government provide welfare and subsistence benefits, healthcare, etc. Not the "pure capitalism" and rule by the "free" market of anarcho-capitalist and right-libertarian wet dreams.
Egoraptor lost his touch after the thor's hammer animation. His animations have gotten increasingly less funny and more dependent on lolrandom and then he started trying to sing and it's ear gougingly bad.

Akin to Anarcho-Communism and Anarcho-Socialism, having limited government activity is impossible. You need some boundaries and some sense of law and order outside of people just killing each other, and once you establish any form of order, its a long road to an organized political power/entity. I support Capitalism under the sense that its incredibly versatile, and can be flexed and bended for many unique cultural situations that develop. It does have it's drawbacks though, what with places of underdevelopment being exploited for being underdeveloped. In my person belief, we need to have a melting pot of concepts into a big batch of capitalism. So long as people can work to benefit themselves, while also benefiting others, I can't see any issue really.
Game Grumps/Steam Train/all of their variants are the only good LPers on YouTube. TwoBestFriendsPlay and Kilplix both get honorable mentions though.
I thought the "bad" ending in Metro: Last Light fit the game more than the "Redemption" ending. I had no idea the game had some sort of morality system until after completing my third playthrough. I don't know. Just the feeling of loss and sacrifice in that ending felt more appropriate in the world of Metro than the happy near-fairytale good ending where you see the [sp]The Dark Ones come out of D6, save your team before the Reds finish you off, teleport you and the remainder of the Spartans to safety.[/sp]

They're really bad at video games, at least modern ones, jon admitted this but ego always blamed the game instead of himself, constantly ignoring tutorial messages and then blaming the game for not working. Sometimes uploading 40 minutes of them being stuck in 1 room. Gotta get that add rev! P sure this is why most people stopped watching 'Cuz it's totally the reason why I stopped.
I like the gameplay, combat mechanics, and story of the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed series more than any other Jedi/Sith-focused Star Wars game out there and I really hope TFU III comes out soon.
I'd like to think that Batman: Arhkam Knight should have something along the lines of the Dark Knight's first encounter with the Man of Steel

My sister got it for me for my birthday a couple years back and I played it and beat it pretty quickly ( since it was fairly short. ) The story was mostly forgettable, but I agree that the gameplay and combat is fun. I might go give it another playthrough.
Reading something that is posted publicly online is not an "invasion of privacy".
Reading something that is posted publicly online is not an "invasion of privacy".
Legally, whatever, but it's still fucking scummy to go around and dig up dirt on people and defend yourself by going "it's public information!!!! what i'm doing isn't wrong" [editline]27th March 2014[/editline] maybe not what you were implying but I've had that happen to my friends and me a lot. it sucks.
Sometimes I wish rap music had [del]never existed[/del] died out after the 90s.
Sometimes I wish rap music had [del]never existed[/del] died out after the 90s.
there's a lot of gems post 2000, though, it's just that we've got a ton of terrible artists like lil wayne ruining modern rap's reputation. the 90's was like that too, it's just that we don't remember the fucking garbage.
