You're sort of contradicting yourself there
Nah pal, I'm not.
Aren't you dead Viscera?
What?
I realise this isn't so much a blatantly unpopular opinion, so much as an opinion which everyone says they have, but only a few actually adhere to (please don't crucify me). I hate that seeing a psychologist is either looked down upon, immediately seen as implying you were seriously fucked up, or worse - spoken about as being acceptable and normal by the person, while the person then says something like "you're fine, you're strong enough not to need one". To give a few anecdotes, I was moderately depressed (had some stressful issues, got rid of them but my body kind of got depressed for a while after the load was taken off). I was nowhere suicidal, I was coping in day-to-day life for the most part - but it was taking a toll. I had a few infrequent sessions and I came out of it a hell of a lot better - it probably would have gotten better anyway, but it helped unimaginably. Of the two people that noticed the improvement, one thought fair enough and the other ridiculed me for 'being a pussy' and 'now you're just being weak'. Like, damn, what the hells wrong with getting help? A more subtle incident of what I'm talking about: Mothers boss was in a car accident, two semi trailers crushed the entire car with him barely surviving (metal rod was strong enough to stop before hitting him, thank fuck). After police reports and etc he immediately continued to his next job (he's a musician), then after that got on a plane to go to another country (same night) for another job. We find out he hasn't seen anyone, keeps saying he's fine... but hasn't slept more than an hour a night in 4 days. He gets on the next job despite this on a cruise ship. My mother and his wife are pushing him to go a psych, one of his best friends go "he's strong, once everything cools down he'll realise how tired he is and get some sleep. There's a ship doctor if he needs some help [sleeping]". Words can't describe my fury with the fact that not only is he refusing to admit he's slightly mentally unwell, but the fact that the people he confides in are also telling him not to worry about getting help. I see these attitudes every few days on the internet and just in casual communication. tl;dr: I hate that society seems to be against people seeing someone when they need help. A few hours could change the persons life but it's so ingrained in some people that it makes them weak they'd rather go and see their friends go through hell instead. The deeper problem here though I think is probably empathy. They don't understand what it's like to be unwell up there and they can't see it (like a high fever or serious infection) so they think the person will just 'get over it' like they can. I don't blame them (I mean, I do when they insult others like my friendish person) for not understanding, but I think greater emphasis should be placed on changing their perspective (not through ridicule, but through trying to talk to them in a non-condescending way, not a "you're an idiot for thinking this - pls stop" way many people do).
Some of Linkin Park's music isn't that bad. Example:
I prefer Unreal Engine 2 over Unreal Engine 4
Nah pal, I'm not.

I'm not a troll. Hint: [sp]The answer is yes[/sp]
I find your avatar creepy and I wish you'd change it. Dunno how unpopular that is.
Its not, look at my visitor messages :v:
I'm not a troll. I just don't shit myself every time I come across something related to it. Too much effort to bother hating something that's not harming me in any way.
I prefer Unreal Engine 2 over Unreal Engine 4
What do you prefer about it? Is this from a gamer perspective or a developer perspective? I struggle to see how this wouldn't mostly be because of nostalgia.
Imo no one really does know they are dead or not or if their memories are stolen
The whole "'murica" thing got old quite awhile ago and needs to die.
[sp]I liked Driv3r[/sp]
I didn't really care for Frozen.
Castle doctrine etc is stupid
Castle doctrine etc is stupid
i mostly agree with this. physical objects don't have worth that overrides a human life, and a gung-ho mentality is stupid
i mostly agree with this. physical objects don't have worth that overrides a human life, and a gung-ho mentality is stupid
Yeah I mean it's not like I'm saying don't defend yourself, but I'm more a fan of proportional self-defence rather than the blast first ask insurance to cover theft later mentality of oh so many.
People should have more faith in the American education system. While flawed and no doubt in need of changing, it can't possibly be as bad as people make it out to be as there are thousands of districts countrywide that may handle bullying much better and subtler than the ones that appear in the news as these supposed "protecting the bullies" articles.
I think people need to stop claiming the American education system has failed because the discipline systems within many schools fail. Are zero tolerance policies idiotic? Yes. Does a school having one mean it automatically ceases to be capable of functioning as a school? No.

My school had zero-tolerance policies for both dress code and anything violent and it got to the point where so many kids were out of class for the smallest of things that they had to fill up the gym every so often and school pretty much ground to a halt for the next few days.
I didn't really care for Frozen.
In terms of Disney, I thought Tangled was better than Frozen by a fairly large margin. I dont remember that movie exploding nearly as much as Frozen has.
In terms of Disney, I thought Tangled was better than Frozen by a fairly large margin. I dont remember that movie exploding nearly as much as Frozen has.
Brave is probably my favorite modern Disney movie.
Fat shaming is bad.
Brave is probably my favorite modern Disney movie.
Brave is Pixar. You wouldn't say that "The Avengers" is a disney movie, or "The Muppets Movie" is a disney movie.
Brave is Pixar. You wouldn't say that "The Avengers" is a disney movie, or "The Muppets Movie" is a disney movie.
Is it? Hold on. [editline] May 6 2014 [/editline] Eh, it's mostly Pixar i'll grant you but it's still Disney and people aren't really too picky. They all kinda blend together anymore anyway.
It's both
It was released by Disney, and since it's family friendly and animated they slapped the disney name on it. But it was created by pixar, for sure.
Fat shaming is bad.
that's mostly because the people that do it are fucking idiots. somebody being overweight isn't an excuse to laugh and call them a fatass. like, what does putting somebody down for their bodytype achieve besides putting yourself on a pedestal? if you try to justify fat shaming by saying you're trying to make people live healthier, you're full of shit. if you truly, HONESTLY cared, you'd do something about it instead of just laughing at people on blog websites and making ~hilarious~ fat jokes.
It is kind of a pointless distinction though, more often than not the names are synonymous anymore.
that's mostly because the people that do it are fucking idiots. somebody being overweight isn't an excuse to laugh and call them a fatass. like, what does putting somebody down for their bodytype achieve besides putting yourself on a pedestal? if you try to justify fat shaming by saying you're trying to make people live healthier, you're full of shit. if you truly, HONESTLY cared, you'd do something about it instead of just laughing at people on blog websites and making ~hilarious~ fat jokes.
Exactly this. Fat shaming does literally nothing to make people want to lose weight, it just makes them likely more depressed and less likely to actually do anything about it. If you really want to help someone lose weight, be their friend and at their side, try and help. It's like saying calling someone ugly will make them want to look better. It just convinces them that's how they're supposed to be.
