They're okay but combat in those games doesn't have the variety of Dark Souls or the first person fluidity that shooters like Halo and (forgive me) call of duty have

Further north and west you go the less you see them. There are plenty here in southwest ohio.
And I dunno if this is unpopular but I think that the Confederate flag isn't something that people should wave around. If you wanna celebrate southern heritage use your state flag
Flying the confederate flag is basically a giant warning sign that yells "I'M A HUGE RACIST, IGNORE ME"
by "not as deeply rooted" i'm talking about the multiculturalism. in countries that have had large influx of immigrants, you often see people trying to preserve all that culture, but what is there to preserve in america, where that influx is still huge? my theory is that it makes patriotism even stronger.
and i stayed in mcdowell county, NC. not exactly the smallest or least populated one out there, but still a big change from a city with 1.5 million people. as for canada, i admit that most of what i know is from talking to canadians i've met while traveling.
since you asked me that, may i ask you: what other countries have you been to? and did you stay in any of them for long?
Truth be told my frame of reference is mostly just within the US, and a little travel into Canada to visit relatives. I was just asking since you'd brought up your own personal experience.

What if you're from Mississippi?

I'd rather be told I was wrong when spreading misinformation. Sure it might be a little embarrassing at first, but I'd much rather endure a brief moment of embarrassment where I can go "Woops my bad" and be done with it over being responsible for the (continued) spread of bullshit (and subsequent spread by those I've told).
I hate fan service that has no relevant payoff. This is the age of the internet, where bouncy breasts are a dime a dozen. For an extra nickel, you get a dick between them. I'm here for a story. Just have her let the dude grope them and be done with it.
Well, yeah. Medieval combat wasn't exactly fluid and didn't have a lot of variety for the most part.
...how so?

Not quite, there are black people around where I live that fly it around. Nowadays it's pretty much just a statement that "I'm all about the redneck life"
I think Piracy is still stealing. It's like sneaking into a cinema without paying or going to a restaurant and not paying the bill. It's still experiencing something that you should pay for without doing so, no matter how much people say nothing is actually stolen.
(before people bring up Let's Plays, allowing let's plays of a game should be done at the developer's discretion, as it largely depends on the game, e.g an LP of Daylight compared to an LP of The Longest Journey, one game is the same each time and the other will be different for each player.)
I don't think it equates to sneaking into a cinema without paying because the cinema showing still happens regardless and the people that go still get the cinema experience i.e. the big screen and better sound than most homes, and people who get up to go to the toilet in the middle, whereas those that don't go won't get the same experience. Downloading is just a copy of the media being shown and is often poorer quality and shown on a smaller screen in a different environment. By all means I think that it is fair those who make a film should receive some kind of remuneration but I don't think piracy significantly destroys the possibility for that.
you're still nagging for free stuff if you try to justify game piracy. unless if the game itself is abysmally expensive and rare, then you're going thru mental gymnastics to try and rationalize "well hey it's not like i owe them anything . . . . . . . .". think of it as eating out a diner or something; if you can't afford to tip, then you can't afford to eat out
Tipping culture is mainly a US thing (to top up the poverty wages commonly paid there) so a lot of the those from other countries where it is not won't understand that.
Personally if I play a game and find myself putting a lot of time into it and getting a lot of enjoyment out of it I'll buy it when I can afford to.
Digital goods are not the same as something like eating out or going to the cinema because you can't replicate a meal or the cinema experience in a few seconds and then share that same copy of that meal/experience with several thousand other people.
Tips are not an excuse to pay employees below the minimum wage.
I dunno if that's still an ongoing issue, though i do recall hearing of establishments doing so.
Piracy isn't stealing, it's counterfeiting. It's like buying bootleg DVDs or something.
It's like being on a pirate ship, and instead of burying your pirate gold you share it.

On which point? Fluidity or variety?
It wasn't very fluid because most of the time, defenders of a keep or soldiers in an army were conscripts, not trained much of at all. Combat was brutal, each hit trying to do maximum damage. It wasn't meant to look pretty and graceful. It was meant to be a bunch of sweaty armored dudes beating each other with shit until the differently colored side was dead.
On variety, there WERE a lot of different weapons and armors to choose from, i'll grant you, but roles such as Pikemen and Horsemen typically stayed within a loadout because that typically was what worked best. You're not going to see a pikeman fighting with a voulge, y'know? It's not like Dark Souls where you can go around swinging two claymores and then switch to a shield and an axe whenever is convinient.
Maybe i'm wrong in all this, this is just how I see it.

I think it's pretty hard to argue about "fluidity" since that's pretty vague and subjective, but as for variety, there is a huge variety of medieval fighting techniques, even just for swordsmanship alone.

The American Civil War was about "Property rights".
Metalcore is one of the worst musical genres today.

That's not an opinion, that's a fact.
Metalcore is one of the worst musical genres today.
i don't even know what metalcore sounds like because my music tastes are eccentric
i don't even know what metalcore sounds like because my music tastes are eccentric
You're very lucky.
I looked up what metalcore was.
I think I hate metalcore.
The American Civil War was about "Property rights".
Yes, specifically the "right" to treat black people as property.
Yes, specifically the "right" to treat black people as property.
There was also a lotta bullshit in the back seat as well
That's not an opinion, that's a fact.
Wait, does that mean that i've been lied to for the past 23 years? :(
I don't really like Beyonce, and people are really pushing all their love for her. She's a good singer and all, but you don't have to treat her like a god.

(pop) Musicians are in general pretty shitty people who do awful things, and it's been like that for quite awhile.

What makes you say that? That's a pretty big pigeonhole.
