[QUOTE=lazyguy;44891409]Why is it always rap and country? I see it so often, "I like all genres apart from rap and country", it's almost become a cliché, but where does it come from?[/QUOTE]
Because honestly, it's pretty much all the same, even the older stuff. Again, there's exceptions, i'm not going to be all hardcore "THIS SHIT SUCKS" because i like stuff from both Genres and i get that the older stuff is different, that's cool. But most country is some souther dude/chick with an acoustic guitar, talking about boyfriends, girlfriends, trucks, dogs, guns and a few other things. Rap is all overuse of hi-hat and bitches, money and weed. There's no denying it, seriously, just don't.
As a whole, the genres are repetitive and rarely bring anything new to the table whereas most other genres are constantly evolving. And again, i like pieces of both. Like for rap, i like Childish Gambino, Run DMC, Beastie boys, etc. Honestly, if you want me to add to it, i'm not a huge fan of punk rock, ska, screamo and a few others.
[QUOTE=Stonecycle;44891460]Bob Ross tends to top that list.[/QUOTE]
Or Sam Elliot or Jeff Bridges.
[QUOTE=Xubs;44891431]alright then, real unpopular opinion time. Rap, country, and folk are good genres especially if you look back far enough. But new stuff can be good too.
nobody can tell me John Denver is not good[/QUOTE]
Folk music is pretty much my all time favourite genre
[QUOTE=Daemon;44890789]I find jihad chants a beautiful form of music[/QUOTE]
I love religious music very much. Even if I don't follow a certain type of belief, their church hymns and chants are very beautiful.

People call Bob Ross the "father of ASMR", and I can definitely see why. I love listening to Joy of Painting.

I just love listening to Bob Ross. I like that one remix song PBS did.

I think Hip Hop is one of the best music genres out there today.

This always manages to inspire me and makes me want to do something worthwhile with my time.
[QUOTE=flashn00b;44886754]"Fixing" text in quote tags isn't funny.[/QUOTE]

I consider myself told.
And I apologise.
Dehydrated marshmallows need to be sold in stores, cuz they're MUCH better in hot chocolate than regular ones.
I don't like Adventure Time. I can definitely see why people like it, it just doesn't really fit my tastes.

"There's nothing wrong with having a tree as a friend."
"Oh, that would make a nice place to fish. I like fishing, but I'm not a very good fisherman. I always throw the fish back into the water, just put a band-aid on his mouth, tap 'im on the patootie and let him on his way. And maybe some day, if I'm lucky, I'll get to catch him again."

it was great to begin with, but its just been slowly getting...bad over time. i dont know what specifically, but it just doesnt feel as good as it was before
compared to the rest of the garbage on CN though, its definitely good (and bearable to watch)

Maybe put some effort into finding stuff that's not bling and bitches rap instead of declaring the entire genre shit as if it's a fact? Sure, I'm not a fan of B&B rap either but it has its place. I can see why people like it but it's not for me. For fuck's sake, Run DMC's biggest hits were about getting laid and an entire song about them being awesome.
I don't even think Bling and Bitches rap is a bad thing subject matter wise.
A rapper can rap about anything if he's good enough and have it still be entertaining, Pusha-T may only rap about cocaine but he does it well it rarely gets stale.
Here's my unpopular opinion, ICP and Juggalos don't suck as much as people say.
Yes there are shitty white-trash Juggalos, but then there's plenty that are just fans or just want to be apart of something.
And yes ICP have put out some horrible shitty music(ignore the subject matters, it's horrorcore of course it'll be "shocking" and the stupid stuff they say is mostly just trying to be shocking.) but they've done SOME decent stuff like Hall of Illusions which is pretty decent and has a really cool idea.
Also compare them to others on their label like Anybody Killa(the lispy native american) and Boondox(the rapping country emo scarecrow) and they look like bloody NWA.
I think anime sucks.
I think anime doesn't suck.

Maybe don't automatically assume that i haven't? If you'd actually read my post, i'm not declaring the entire genre shit. I state, quite clearly, that i like plenty of bands/groups from the genre but as a whole i'm not a fan of it because most of it is the same. No need to be such an asshole, dude.

Also, this is the unpopular opinions thread, that's what this thread is meant for. Who cares what you think? Who even really cares what i think?

I don't really like the direction it's starting to go. I have, however, started liking Steven Universe quite a bit.
Iggy Azalea is a horrifying mosaic of everything wrong with pop culture recently.

I don't like the music of today. It feels like noise that sounds all the same. Just a bunch of manufactured noise that's popularity is over in a month before the next big song comes around for another month and so on.
The singers sound the same, the way they sing sounds the same, to me it feels like its all the same boring and bland noise.

People who think rap is all about money and bitches have never listened to OF, mellowhype, Kendrick, Death Grips, hodgy, etc.
I used to hate rap too until I listened to it.

They all sound the same because they are all autotuned to shit, its just fucking drivel with catchy beats , idiots lap it up

This opinion too. I mean I know this is the unpopular opinions thread but I feel like this is more of an uninformed one. If you listen to top 40 radio stations and the like you're gonna get generic 4 chord poppy blandness but there's plenty of good music being made.
If you can get over the stigma, go to pitchfork.com and listen to some of their Best New Music. You might not like it but I promise it won't be "all the same boring and bland noise" that you may be used to hearing.

I probably should have specified. I don't like the music of today on the radio.
No doubt about it that there is some good stuff being put out, but I never hear any of it because the fucking radio is shit.
I find it hard to believe that homosexuality is genetic
It just seems like something that has more to do with your personality instead
I still don't think you should be forced to change your lifestyle if you are gay, though.

tbh it is doing pretty well for itself
whats the other contenders? there's australia, new zealand, europe, canada, japan, south korea, taiwan. not sure what else
even then those countries tend to be riddled with their own problems
I don't like Michael Jackson's music. I also like lift muzak.
Come to Portugal, we have great games like "Meet a financially stable family that isn't a politician, actor or a footballer"
Alternatively you can play "Meet an 18-year-old that just finished school with a job"
Political groups on social media need to stop using American culture as an international benchmark. Americentric social justice erases the individual, unique issues that other countries face and completely ignores different cultures.
