I think most people have a realy stupid opinion on guns. (this might be unpopular even here)
Western countries that aren't 'murica: guns are scary and they kill people and they're dangerous and nobody should ever have one.
Many people in Western country that is 'murica: Guns are great. They keep people safe. They kept the tyrannical British away; second amendment! Woo.
Thing is that second amendment thing is the greatest fucking amendment ever conceived and nobody uses it properly.
Second amendment: if your government is bad; shoot them. Yet nobody does that. feeble protesting? Sure! actually doing something? Nope. Guns in the US amount to little more than hunting, property protection and the occasional crime assist.
But it is hard to define what a "bad" government is. As JohhnyMo was like to point out, the second amendment implies that it is to be used against a tyrannical government, but many people in this country would define our government as tyrannical because they have zero fucking perspective.
The second amendment is, in my opinion, both an awful thing and a necessary one. Citizens have the right to rebel if their government is oppressive and cruel, but it is also a last resort when all other options have failed. Violence is never the right answer; the second amendment exist because at some point, violence may be the only answer we have. You seem to be enamored with it, and that genuinely scares me.
I don't mind outdated looking hotel rooms as long as they're clean.

What do you mean for "outdated"? If it's hotels that don't follow the minimalism a lot of modern homes follow, I would prefer it.

I think he probably means the ones that look like they belong in like the 70's.
I think the ideal government would be one that takes 100% Tax from everyone and then redistributes that wealth according to how hard each person works, the difficulty of the field they work in, the results they get and how many other people are in that field of work. They should also fund education and much of healthcare. They should pay people to get educated and fund research. All homes are rented. Would probably take the roughest transition ever, but it'd be worth it in the long run.
As for how liberal or authoritarian it is; I don't realy care. You can do both realy well and you can do both realy badly.
but the game isn't even that hard, provided you know what you're doing.
That's a bit of a botched argument, it works for literally everything. Dota 2? Not hard if you know what you're doing. Playing the guitar? Not hard if you know what you're doing. Driving race cars? Not hard if you know what you're doing.
I know I bitched about it in the Expiration Date thread, but god damn the Soldier is the unfunniest character in the whole short. Why did Valve write him to be a randumb child instead of a fearsome mentally unstable person? Going to his own personal war even though WW2 ended years before is insane, but slathering mayo and trying to recruit wild raccoons or whatever the fuck he does makes him like a cartoon character instead of someone in the TF2 universe.
And don't give me that bullshit about TF2 was always silly. It was not silly. I hate that argument and it shows that people really have no idea what TF2 was originally like. It was tongue-in-cheek with its humour. Just because it is a cartoon theme doesn't mean it has to delve into silly meaningless characterisations or random humour.
I know I sound like a douchey hipster (that's because I am) but it is just so annoying to have people think that the Soldier is the best character in TF2. He's not. He's boring, uninteresting, awfully written and is always being thrust into the limelight. Yeah, we get it Valve. He's an idiot. Can we focus on characters that are interesting?
There are no Asians and no women classes in TF2. (don't you get me started with pyro being unknown, when we can all agree that he's likely a male from spain, portugal, south america or mexico)
That sucks a bit.

Ah yes, because Pseudo-Communism would work so much better than the real thing.

Coming from a Leninist, way easier said that done.
Way, way, way, way easier

No way man, the Pyro is clearly Abraham Lincoln, the 1850's-era Pyro who barely survived his assassination at the hands of John Wilkes Booth using the same Australium powered mobile life support machine that Gray Mann has attached to his back and concealing it inside his asbestos-lined suit.
*soldier is bad character*
I actually think his newfound mental retardation is an improvement on the kind of character he was previously. I personally believe that it's a subtle, clever reference as to how much worse the American government has become in comparison to the way it was in the past hundred or more years.

but tf2 IS silly. saying "no it's not" doesn't make that so, it has always been a cartoon in the form of a 3d game. and the soldier didn't go through his own personal war because he was a "fearsome, mentally unstable person", he did it because he's unbelievably stupid
and of course you have the right not to find him funny, but don't label his humor as "randumb". it was silly, yes, but it was NOT random
[editline]18th June 2014[/editline]
and why are you complaining about them focusing on him too much, they barely did, and he was only used for comic relief
The Steamboy Project actually looks promising.
Game of thrones could have and should have stuck closer to the books.
I like anime and manga but whenever I bring it up I get ridiculed for it.

Alright, but why Asians in particular?
I think some old terminology should come back.
I would love to end an argument by calling someone a "cur" and them understanding what I meant. :v:

Depends where you bring it up. Bring it up among anime fans and there you go.

solider isn't even randumb, i don't know where people are getting that from.
in the newest SFM video valve made he was consistently stupid about one or two things, he didn't just blurt out random shit.
[editline]18th June 2014[/editline]
thats why i love the new TF2 personality bullshit they've got right now.
everyone is a special breed of stupid except for like, the spy. which owns.

The heavy, engineer, and medic aren't really stupid either. The heavy just isn't good with english or controlling his emotions, the engineer's a country boy, and the medic is completely insane.

I never thought of it like that. Huh, well that's a new perspective to take into account.
but tf2 IS silly. saying "no it's not" doesn't make that so, it has always been a cartoon in the form of a 3d game. and the soldier didn't go through his own personal war because he was a "fearsome, mentally unstable person", he did it because he's unbelievably stupid
I guess different perspectives on characters is the thing here. I always thought he was portrayed as the former, but to others he can be the latter. I don't have a problem with people thinking that contrary to my previous statements (I think I was just having a bad day when I wrote that) but I guess I'm just not happy with the way the writing has gone over the past few years.
and of course you have the right not to find him funny, but don't label his humor as "randumb". it was silly, yes, but it was NOT random
Maybe I have a different definition of such.
and why are you complaining about them focusing on him too much, they barely did, and he was only used for comic relief
Honestly I think I was thinking of the comics. I don't know, as I said I think I was having a bad day and I kinda went off on a tangent. But then again I have a passion for writing and storytelling and characterisations and I tend to get a bit huffy and hipster-y. Maybe it's just the fact that I need to stop living in 2007 and just embrace what is now. I would never rag on people's opinions, it's just that I seem to get slightly passionate about things. :v:

I thought Facepunch was done with the whole "you're not allowed to like anime" thing years ago.
Depends where you bring it up. Bring it up among anime fans and there you go.
Or even just the rare case it's relevant or amongst friends who aren't into anime as long as it's not something you bring up constantly nor shoehorn into the conversation. Most reasonable people aren't going to get annoyed about it so long as it's handled properly.
Filthy Frank is not funny. His humor is best described as "randumb".
Alright, but why Asians in particular?
You should know why by now.
[sp]the chinese make really good food[/sp]
I never thought of it like that. Huh, well that's a new perspective to take into account.
Whoa, I think that's the first time someone actually agreed with me on/acknowledged one of my crazy ideas.
Filthy Frank is not funny. His humor is best described as "randumb".
Or just "dumb"
Alright, but why Asians in particular?
Because they make up a very large percentage of the population. Yet we're stuck with seven white guys (nearly half from the USA), one black and one guy who's probably Hispanic. I know if we had a realy proportionate team we'd have most of the team Chinese or indian but they could have at least thrown the VIP back in and made him korean.
I don't actualy care that much. The current characters are good and I know that it's pretty difficult to portray someone chinese, arabic, indian or African in a comical style without getting into trouble. I'm mostly responding because of how many agrees you got.
Back to opinions unpopular: Demo best character. Least interesting meet the team video, but still the best character.
Or just "dumb"
Read that in Bubbles voice.

Scram it, weeb.
I think The Big Bang Theory is a funny show, even in 2014. However, it was a lot better in the earlier seasons when it was about science and nerd culture. Now there's way too much emphasis on relationships and characters getting married and the audience laughing. It still has its moments though.
I am the king of unpopular opinions.
