There is no truth or objectivity in history
What do you mean? Of course people have different theories and interpretations but how can't one of them be true?
What do you mean? Of course people have different theories and interpretations but how can't one of them be true?
Historical evidence never comes as a complete, all-encompassing package. It's fragmentary, disparate and presents select views of the past. In the case of literary evidence, the biases of the original author are stumbling blocks to a true view of what their focus is, just as a historians own biases are stumbling blocks to an objective view of the source itself. It's a matter of 'this particular theory is probably true' not 'this theory is true'.
What do you mean? Of course people have different theories and interpretations but how can't one of them be true?
As Winston Churchill said "History is written by the victors." Everything in history will be biased in one regard or another.
Ocarina of Time [...] The game is extremely boring and it likes to waste time everywhere.
I've been saying this for years and now egoraptor said it suddenly everyone sees it (this is going to sound like repeated points but w/e). The waiting in Ocarina just makes how easy most of the enemies are seem fake hard. It just creates a dry atmosphere and slows the pacing of the game so that it becomes almost impossible to become immersed. I don't like any game that appears to be open world, but it's actually "well you can't go to this part of the OPEN world because you have to go and give this person something and do this asinine task". Like Dark Souls lets you go basically anywhere (one barrier but it'd break the game if you went too early, they may have been able to change that but idk), Skyrim lets you go fucking anywhere, yet OCARINA IS DA BEST OPEN WARLD GAEM EVAR!!!1!
The only Zelda game i liked was WindWaker but thats only because i loved the art style.
the germans were punished for their misdeeds
"Misdeeds" that included widespread rape, pillaging and indiscriminate murder.
"Misdeeds" that included widespread rape, pillaging and indiscriminate murder.
the soviets did the same in eastern europe but nobody cares about them. americans went and raped japanese civilians after the war ended, but nobody cares about them. german and japanese scientists involved in unethical experiments were employed by the allies after the war, but nobody cares that they didn't get punished for their crimes the point is that the allies have a lot of skeletons in the closet that still aren't reported on today, and that's because the allies won the war
Chelsea Manning shouldn't be freed regardless as it was still treason.
I like Six Pence None The Richer
the soviets did the same in eastern europe but nobody cares about them. americans went and raped japanese civilians after the war ended, but nobody cares about them.
The US worked to cover those up during the occupation to prevent people from rebelling. The occupation actually did alot of good and you could say more than enough to outweigh the bad.
the second world war has been distorted in many regards looking back on it the germans were punished for their misdeeds, yet the soviets were allowed to practice widespread genocide and conquer half of europe the japanese had nukes dropped on them, yet if any nuclear weapons were used against america i can assure you that would have been recorded down as a war crime
The Germans persecuted many innocent people in their holocaust (not just Jews, also homosexuals, black people, the disabled, even the antisocial). They also mistreated many Russian PoWs. Germany also had broken the Treaty of Versailles (which was unfair, on the other hand) prior to war and attempted to (and almost did) invade Europe, as well as their plans of worldwide domination. The Soviets weren't "allowed" to, we didn't say to them "hey take half of Europe if you want", just nobody wanted to go to war again. Almost the same reasons for appeasement, which Germany was given and allowed them to take Poland and Czechoslovakia, as well as ally with Austria. Winston Churchill once talked of the Iron Curtain going across Europe after WWII, you can see here that he was criticized for this thinking: [t]http://forthesakeofhumanities-10.wikispaces.com/file/view/Churchill.png/335412518/463x464/Churchill.png[/t] The flags read "Britannia will rule the world!" and the other threatens an Iron Curtain When they came round to doing it, we just didn't stop them. We couldn't. Who would go up against Russia? Then it goes into Cold War stuff which I didn't have the opportunity to study so I can't give you an educated opinion on what followed, but it's easy to say neither the UK, the USA or the rest of the Western Bloc wanted to go to war again. American's attack on Japan involving nuclear weapons in 1945 has largely been reported as a necessary injustice and a crime but the thing is Japan really don't care anymore, they criticized Fallout when it censored the names of the nuclear weapons in that game because they saw it as "unnecessary censorship", despite them being references to the bombs dropped on Hiroshima ("Little Boy") and Nagasaki ("Fat Boy" or "Fat Man"). Basically no one wants to fight or give a fuck about any of it. But that's just my opinion. EDIT: (And by "war" I mean a war with bloodshed and battlefields)
politics are scary so i'll just share my bad musical tastes i like Rockstar and How You Remind Me by Nickelback
Nickelback
Now we're getting into unpopular opinions again. Finally.
i also like Souljia Boy
Al-Jazeera is about as reliable as Fox News when it comes to reporting on the Israel/Gaza conflict. I can't take either of them seriously.
Now we're getting into unpopular opinions again. Finally.
While the circlejerk is kind of funny, they're really not as bad as everyone makes them out to be. Generic? Yes. But they have some very catchy songs and the leads singers voice is really unique.
The new Arctic Monkeys album is bland and uninspired and I cannot understand what people see in it.
The new Arctic Monkeys album is bland and uninspired and I cannot understand what people see in it.
Only good song on it is R U Mine and that came out a good year and a half before the rest of it I haven't found them very notable since Humbug really. Probably cause Josh Homme helped produce it

I think the internet has just ruined anything "cool" or "wild" for me because I just see it as tryhard and cheesy now. That, and I'm a scummy scumbag who listens to EDM and general electronic stuff. Yes I am aware I am killing the music industry.
Chelsea Manning shouldn't be freed regardless as it was still treason.
Ethically yeah, but logically, it was fucking treason.
politics are scary so i'll just share my bad musical tastes i like Rockstar and How You Remind Me by Nickelback
I like nickelback a lot lmao. Not really going to say they're good because they sure as hell aren't though.
Dark chocolate is awful and I don't get why people make everything dark chocolate instead of milk, is it just so it seems healthy?
Dark chocolate is usually meant for baking with sugar and stuff mixed in, not for direct use though.
Majora's Mask is a needlessly complicated game with repetitive gameplay and a dull plot, and is only hyped up by the faggots on /v/ who view it as some ridiculous form of "art".
Dark chocolate is awful and I don't get why people make everything dark chocolate instead of milk, is it just so it seems healthy?
I don't think anyone with a brain thinks dark chocolate is healthy. I just like somewhat bitter things, e.g. black tea without sugar or milk, and black coffee. [editline]30th July 2014[/editline] Also American milk chocolate (mostly Hershey's) tastes like vomit so there's that.
Metal Gear Solid 2 is better than Metal Gear Solid 3.
Dark chocolate is awful and I don't get why people make everything dark chocolate instead of milk, is it just so it seems healthy?
Anytime I try milk chocolate it tastes so bland to me, literally makes me sick to my stomach because of how sweet it is, just like donuts and cake frosting. It's personal preference though, I bet you're the kind of person who hates black coffee too.
Christianity is the most successful sect of Judaism
Dark chocolate and the mud that Australians call chocolate are both crap.
All chocolate is shit compared to Swiss and Belgian chocolate
Milka oreo chocolate is the best sweet I've ever eaten tbh
Milka is amazing holy crap
