I honestly can't stand what TF2 has become now. It's just far too obnoxious for my taste and the awful community only justifies my reason for disliking it.
I still find the game really fun to play, but I do somewhat miss the original RED Vs. BLU story.
The whole "Spytech" style doesn't seem to be relevant any more.
I'm tired of seeing this argument.
Here is a professionally recorded song (post hardcore):

Another professionally recorded and mixed song (mostly acoustic):

Point is, it doesn't matter if the song "looks too loud".
an acoustic song can still be compressed all high fuck and loud as actual shit compared to something else. It's not about how close to clipping it is, it's about how small the dynamic range is and both those tracks look pretty heavily compressed and limited, I'd wager they all stick within -2db of 0.
[editline]3rd August 2014[/editline]
Like, here are two tracks, one has been through a heavy mastering, the other hasnt, notice how one waveform is completely filling up as much space with white as possible, this means it's louder and edges on clipping, cause even with a limiter you can get a split milisecond of clipping which can fuck you up a lot.
Then look at the second track, it's pretty sparse and quiet in comparission, but the sounds are given more headroom to breath so your dynamic range can be bigger. Loudness is saying FUCK THE DYNAMIC RANGE, MAKE IT LOUDER SO IT SOUNDS HEAVIER AND BIGGER which it does to untrained ears but otherwise it just sounds like arse
Waveforms are exactly how you tell loudness.

Look at how the drums almost completely off the chart on 1, thats where the limiter kicks in. Look at 2, the drums aren't heavily compressed so they dont stand out as much. the clincher is that 1 is a acoustic country song with some soft brush drums and track 2 is a fast drum and bass track.
i feel like none of that made sense

Literally every single game in the universe has a crappy community. I respect your opinion because I've felt the same way on and off, but at least be more specific.

Literally the 3 years that I had been playing it, I noticed the community getting consistently worse. Every server I would go on would be packed full of idiot pubstompers bringing in their god-tier black box to spawnkill just so they could rack in 100 more kills.
Not to forget that I got constantly abused when I played as medic (which was all the time) if I didn't heal somebody, or I didn't ubercharge them at the time that suits them. I figured that it was just a one off thing, but stuff similar to this happened all the god damn time. I just got bored of it eventually and I quit when the Pyromancer update got released.
I know every community for every online game is like this in some way, but just my experiences with this have made me feel very hateful towards TF2. I would get into more specifics, but I really hate thinking about it. It's just something I want to forget.

So because people are pubstomping, that makes you hate the game? It's just like any other game. You get better and better as you play.

Look for more secluded games. There are good ones out there that aren't super-popular.
Communities have a huge impact on a game. It may not make me outright stop playing the game, but it will sure as hell not enjoy it nearly half as much.
So because people are pubstomping, that makes you hate the game? It's just like any other game. After all that the game slowly started going downhill honestly
An authoritarian state can get the best possible scientific information, then force whatever measures are necessary in a quick and efficient manner.
This sort of idea strongly depends on the leader. You'd be more likely to get a leader who doesn't care about some fairly important things or who has views on certain subjects that defy logic such as opposing climate change.
It's just like any other game. You get better and better as you play.
This idea only holds water if you play often. If you don't play enough you don't get any better or you get worse. And since games are kinda meant for fun you don't want to have it become a job and feel obligated to play. (Which is the major reason I avoid all MMOs and such.)

The items have really gotten out of hand. I liked the items at first, back when every item suited the theme and all that, but now every other game that comes out on steam has some fuckin' promo item for TF2 and 1960's mercenaries are running off in to battle wearing samurai hats and deely bobbers, and there's waaaaaay too many items that do all this different shit and I really just want to use the vanilla ones.
What does a James Bond-esque superspy really have as a justification for running around with a fucking icicle as a weapon?
I know in game it's just a multiplayer team first person fighting thingy, but so is Chivalry, and you'd be taken aback if you saw a knight running around there with a giant afro, would you not? Theme is important.
I'd probably buy a CoD game if they weren't still $60 like 3 years after release.
Um no. I bought MW3 for the ultra-high price of £0.01 the other week.
I don't like Megan Fox
I don't like Megan Fox
not really unpopular
She was alright before the 3 lbs of plastic she got put in

Actually I used to go on the forums of the VVVVVV fanbase and they're a pretty cool community, they hardly ever fight and they make a lot of content for the game. They also don't try to push the game on others and just have a friendly atmosphere, this was like a year or two ago though so whether they still even is a community, I'm not sure.
EDIT: Also rhythm game communities are great too.

I don't think communities for singeplayer-only games really count in that regard. Plus, VVVVVV is a very simple (albeit challenging) game compared to the likes of Team Fortress 2, DotA, Counter-Strike, etc. The main focus here is the toxic communities of multiplayer games, where players are actually interacting with each other and not just talking about a game that is restricted to only one player at a time.

Oh god no multiplayer games have the /worst/ communities ever. The server communities are fine, like GMod servers like Lifepunch has an (on the whole) inclusive, friendly community. The general fandom of competitive games are just ugh
"It's high time we (the People of the World) rounded up all the World leaders (political, corporate, and religious) and put them in a field to slog it out with axes and shields, while leaving the rest of us to get along! All any of us (the People of the World) really want is food in our bellies, a roof over our heads and somewhere peaceful to sleep!"
A comment I saw on the BBC News site.
Skyrim's combat is at least decent, and with a combat mod it can be pretty exciting.
Is your unpopular opinion you want that to happen?
If so.....just no
Is your unpopular opinion you want that to happen?

No it's just something I saw as a comment on BBC News like I said.
I don't agree with it - I dislike violence - but I figured it was/would be unpopular.
Oh I see
yeah it's stupid
I don't think Nickleback is that bad.
I don't think Nickleback is that bad.
they're good at what they do
i just think that what they do is horribly generic
Skyrim's combat is at least decent, and with a combat mod it can be pretty exciting.
Definitely needs a combat mod imo to make it good. Default it's pretty bad, but not as bad as oblivion's at least.
I don't think Nickleback is that bad.
They recycle lots of their music and have pretty poor lyrics often. Though whether they sound good is completely subjective, I like their sound, but I try not to pay attention to their lyrics.
"That's what mods are for" does not justify a bad game. Don't get me wrong, mod support is one of the best things you can implement in a game, but you need an actually decent game to implement it in first for the game to be worth it.
When it comes to Nickelback, I don't like them really at all, but I don't see why everyone calls them the worst thing since polio.
There are far more offensively bad bands out there.
The only reason why I can stand (and absolutely love) playing TF2 is because I play with my family. Seeing as my brother's gonna be going off to the army I may find myself playing less and less.
Benedict Cumberbatch is possibly one of the least attractive celebs out there
He isn't that great an actor either. He's just okay.
Anime is good
idk that definitely seems to be a controversial opinion here but while I'd agree it does have somewhat of a problem with it I really think you have to be pretty damn stupid to conclude that all anime are fan-service waifu dispensing harem titfests and that there's no value in it as a kind of animation
Yeah, people who say anime is bad are twits
It's like saying live action stuff is bad. It's just a stupidly broad generalization.
