Windows 8 is okay.
It's pretty decent if you have 8.1, the interface is a tad fiddly but frankly I don't miss the old start menu, since I can fit whatever the fuck I want on the new one and categorize it and it genuinely doesn't look that bad plus dat startup speed, ooooh that startup speed honestly if you made all the fullscreen tablet type shit not necessary, then gave an optional start menu, and then let people make custom tiles there'd not really be much to complain about with 8 (although I have had problems with the fuckin' start button breaking, windows photo gallery having a weird tan tint to it, and shit like that)
I hate the gamer nostalgia boners that seem to pop up all over the place every time a new Mario rehash is announced. I played Mario when I was a kid, but holy fuck do people never get bored of the same franchise and its various rehashes after decades of play?

I played Mario when I was a kid, but holy fuck do people never get bored of the same franchise and its various rehashes after decades of play?
I've always liked Zelda more than Mario. Most Mario games look different, but they play very similarly, whereas most Zelda games look similar, but have noticeably different gameplay mechanics (outside of the basic combat and item systems). Plus, with Skyward Sword and A Link Between Worlds, they're really starting to break away from the usual tropes seen in Zelda games, and I think Nintendo has been doing an okay job with it thus far. Most of the recent Marios have just been a strange, hardly innovated or fresh fusion of the old 2D sidescrollers and the 3D rendering of the likes of Sunshine and the Galaxy duo.
"retro" "indie" 2d sidescrollers are shit
They recycle lots of their music and have pretty poor lyrics often. Though whether they sound good is completely subjective, I like their sound, but I try not to pay attention to their lyrics.
Chad Kroeger needs to take some singing lessons or just quit altogether. I can't take his sound seriously any more after watching Team America. He sounds almost exactly like it. Also there's his incessant breathing into the mic, Far Away being his best example. Breath control!
"retro" "indie" 2d sidescrollers are shit
I don't really mind all the 'retro' games that much, but there is a point where it's just too pixelated. I've seen NES games that look far better than a good majority of these 'retro' games made in 2014.
Anime is good idk that definitely seems to be a controversial opinion here but while I'd agree it does have somewhat of a problem with it I really think you have to be pretty damn stupid to conclude that all anime are fan-service waifu dispensing harem titfests and that there's no value in it as a kind of animation
Oh that happens with most mediums. Novels are pretty good too, and there are tonnes of shitty ones Such is movies and other cartoons too It's pretty much a rule of life [editline]4th August 2014[/editline]
"retro" "indie" 2d sidescrollers are shit
I agree with the retro part I am not a fan of didescrollers, but I played Puppeteer recently, and Jesus Christ I was blown away I don't really see the appeal in pixilated art
I think America is a good country compared to a lot of places in the world. :v:
I don't really see the appeal in pixilated art
Pixel art can be wonderful looking though, so long as its used properly as an artistic medium and not a crutch for a lack of artistic skill. Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery EP, for instance, was the most beautiful game I've played, and Hell, I'd say it remains so still. [t]http://i.imgur.com/tVHVkfU.png[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/xcwwpaS.jpg[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/8iIDOpK.jpg[/t] It doesn't use pixel art to achieve some "retro" look, and it isn't used to make up for the artist's shortcomings. It takes the medium and uses it perfectly to create a gorgeous and unique minimalist style (though many imitators tried to use similar looks since, but none look anywhere near a stunning). It doesn't feel like a limitation like most pixel art games. Fantastic soundtrack too. If any of you haven't played the game, I wholeheartedly recommend it. You can get it cheap on nearly anything. It's simple and short, but its a wonderful unique little experience.
I'm personally not a fan of Batman/The Dark Night. I really think its completely overrated.
Rose-tinted glasses are generally frowned upon, but Nintendo fans usually get away with it. Nintendo is basically fueled by nostalgia. It's already starting to bite them in the ass, which is really sad to see.
Except not really. Their poor business and marketing decisions are what's biting them in the ass with the Wii U. These so-called "Mario rehashes" still sell really well when they're on a platform that people have actually bought. Proof: The 3DS.

And I haven't really even played classic mario. Playing those games pretty much began with the gamecube for me. Except mario party which gets released yearly with heavy diminishing returns.

Mario Party 1 released in 1998. Ever since, we haven't had a Mario Party release in 2001, 2006, 2008-2011, and 2014. Mario Party 10 isn't scheduled to release until 2015.
I think fedoras are awesome and would wear one everyday if it didn't automatically label me hipster/douchebag.
I think fedoras are awesome and would wear one everyday if it didn't automatically label me hipster/douchebag.
really any hat makes you look bad though, especially if you wear it indoors. A little less though in summer ofc depending on what hat you have.
Not bucket hats though they look good no matter what
I think fedoras are awesome and would wear one everyday if it didn't automatically label me hipster/douchebag.
I've yet to meet a single person in my entire life under the age of 50 that can pull off a Fedora. And I've met a lot of people who try.
really any hat makes you look bad though, especially if you wear it indoors. (sadly I don't) You should never have any kind of hat on indoors though, same goes for sunglasses.
Thunderdome was a good movie
I really can't figure out how Day Z and similar games can be fun. Where's the fun in wandering aimlessly for hours, expecting to lose all the stuff you earned at any moment after being killed by someone hidden god knows where.
RAGE is actually a decent and entertaining game (especially on harder difficulties, and with the Scorchers DLC.) It was underwhelming at times (the ending, for example), but I honestly think it deserves a sequel.
I really can't figure out how Day Z and similar games can be fun. But if that doesn't float your boat, then alrighty then.
I think America is a good country compared to a lot of places in the world. :v:
I've said it before and I'll say it again. America is a great place to live. We just have a really shitty government.
A democratic government should not be feared by its people, or vice versa. Democracy requires the involvement and cooperation of the people with the government for said government to function.

But just try saying something slightly negative about them in any other thread and you're in for trouble. I don't see how people still find them relevant today.
there seems to be a growing hatred for baneposting on fp but this pretty much sums up my feelings on it
I keep telling myself the joke is dead. But I can't stop chuckling.
I still hate anime
I'm personally not a fan of Batman/The Dark Night. I really think its completely overrated.
It's a Marvel movie and has received GOTY awards for the games. You can't blame it for being "overrated."
It's a Marvel movie and has received GOTY awards for the games. You can't blame it for being "overrated."
Batman. Marvel. Lol.
Nintendo died to me a long time ago. But just try saying something slightly negative about them in any other thread and you're in for trouble.
