I don't think social gatherings(Since you know, we are social creatures) for celebrations or mourning could be considered a waste but if you think they are, I can't imagine how you feel about a lot of other things.
You don't need a big fancy shmancy wedding to accomplish the goal, and funerals don't need to be over the top either. I have a problem with people who literally go in debt over weddings, and funerals do not help me cope. (I generally still go to be there for others, but still.) The social aspect is one thing, and that's whatever, but these things really don't need to be as big of a deal as they are. I mean, it should be everything for the couple, but it shouldn't be taxing for everyone else in unneeded time and money. (When I say "unneeded", I mean don't put your wedding on a national holiday and don't have your wedding somewhere stupid, like way, way out of the city.) I've been to weddings where it was simply a solid get together and it was a great time. I've also been to weddings where the bride and groom were princesses of "perfection" that made everyone's time hell.
That goes for any of those events though. The average American wedding costs 30 thousand dollars. Are you kidding me?
It's got years of buildup and is often an absolutely huge event where tons of family; some of whom you may not have seen in years, meet up. 30K isn't too outrageous of a number, though it's a bit near the line.
Yeah but unless you're some kind of promiscuous retard then you won't be having more than a couple of weddings. I've dated a few women who have basically stated that their wedding is the one big day that they look forward to. 30k to realize your most closely held dreams, in addition to being a family wide celebration, isn't that much.
30k could go to things that are so much more important or so much more fun, like school, traveling, paying off debt, etc. But instead, its being spent on love. Isn't love enough? Why does there need to be a big show and tell wedding? Why does it matter?

You can have a family gathering with a cold case of beer, a twelve-pack of coke, and a football in a park. The idea that money has to be spent on extravagant weddings is ridiculous. 30k to hang out with your family is not a good excuse.
how much do you think it would take to have Smash Mouth play at my wedding?
people care too much about where others spend their money

Autism jokes are unfunny and insensitive. This doesn't seem to be popular opinion and people just go "lol autists lets just make fun of them because they aren't as fortunate"
People can spend the money they worked for how they see fit and do whatever they want with their families, it's none of our business.
KK didn't fucking work for shit. She's famous for being famous and that's it.
KK didn't fucking work for shit. She's famous for being famous and that's it.
Thanks for sharing but there are still other 7 billion humans out there and the actions of a single woman doesn't nullify what I said.
KK didn't fucking work for shit. She's famous for being famous and that's it.
Your job is worth as much as others are willing to give you, and for her, that's a lot.
People can spend the money they worked for how they see fit and do whatever they want with their families, it's none of our business.
I still reserve the right to judge them based on how they spend their money. I made an extreme example of how little it costs to have a good time, but my point still stands that if you've got family and you've got your loved one, you don't really need to fill in the blanks with money. If you truly love the other person, you don't have to spend a ton of money on them or you because your love is much more important and sufficient stand-alone. I've been to these kinds of weddings, and let me tell you not only are they more convenient, but they are usually way, way more powerful than the super expensive and precise weddings that people long for.
If people can afford to create a beautiful fucking atmosphere for their family and friends in a special occasion, they can do it and they shouldn't downgrade such an experience because someone out there has had a good time in a cheaper wedding. Guess what, those people can have as much fun walking and talking while shopping at their local shop as at a special wedding because has you said it's their love and friendship that matters and not the money. You shouldn't care about the money because it's not about the money and even you are dense enough to continue going on about it, the money they spend is irrelevant because it doesn't involve you at all. So let people do what they want and judging them for spending it even on one in a lifetime occasions is pathetic.
Cities look better with a lot of graffiti.
Cities look better with a lot of graffiti.
graffiti in Ireland is shitty cheap white chalk on a wall saying "UP THE RA" or there's one street in Dublin that has graffiti on the wall saying "BIKE REPEARERS" which is a shitty spelling of bike repairs, that street is infamous for bike theft
Cities look better with a lot of graffiti.
depends on the graffiti. If you're talking about the colorful kind with a lot of hard work in it, not the shitty one-color illegible tag, then I agree with you.

i like the smell of chlorinated water (swimming pools)
Yeah damn those people loving each other, or caring for those they've lost. I'll just sit in my trenchcoat here, stupid plebs!
Personal opinion on the internet =/= telling people what to do or how to think
And also I never found Spongebob to be that great. I gave it a go throughout the years (yes, the early seasons) and it just never resonated with me. Seeing it shoehorned into every little nook and cranny of the net is mildly annoying too.
This is how I feel about Ed Edd n Eddy.
the fact that getting a decent casket costs over $2,000 is downright fucking sickening.
i'm not letting my body go to waste when i die i want it all used any parts nobody has a use for i want ground up into fertilizer
i'm not letting my body go to waste when i die i want it all used any parts nobody has a use for i want ground up into fertilizer
In that case, mind if I turn you into a bomb?
In that case, mind if I turn you into a bomb?
how would you even do that? i'm not very explosive
how would you even do that? i'm not very explosive
Fertilizer bomb
I want my body turned into a mannequin with little wiring inside that people can twist so they can pose me. "There's Grandma, ahhh she was so lively. Let's pose her watering the grass, shall we?"
I don't find super smash bros fun.
Guardians of the Galaxy was an 'entertaining' and a 'fun' movie, but not 'godtier'. Dr. Who isn't bad, but it's not great. South Park is pretty annoying at times. The radical Left is no better, if not worse than, the radical Right.

I wouldn't call the Republicans or UKIP 'radical' right but I would consider both extremely far right. As a result of the left being a non entity, there is functionally no benefit to fighting/arguing against it
The radical Left is no better, if not worse than, the radical Right.
In what way?
