I like the taste of energy drinks. I don't get them nearly at all because I know they're pretty much poison, but I like them.
They're not really poison, they just have shit tonnes of sugar, which isn't much of a problem unless you imbibe too often.
I defend Pewdiepie in discussions even when I'm having no interest in his comments nor do I follow his content.
This is the unpopular opinions thread. The anonymous confessional is that way.
oh my god there's an anonymous confession thread again!
Its weird when people try to talk shit about rap music despite rap music being an extremely versatile music genre.
Its usually the 13 year olds that say "wrong generation" etc
I don't like The Beatles
It's okay to not like The Beatles, but you cannot deny the influence they had on so many different bands.
It's okay to not like The Beatles, but you cannot deny the influence they had on so many different bands.
This. I've explained this to my friend so many times, but it's just like he cannot comprehend someone disliking The Beatles.
Vegeta's final flash shoulda killed Cell, just sayin'
Vegeta's final flash shoulda killed Cell, just sayin'
If there's one thing dragon ball z was about, it certainly wasn't getting things over with in a smooth well paced manner.
American Horror Story is boring and not scary.
American Horror Story is boring and not scary.
AHS isn't boring at all imo. The stories are really brilliant. But i agree with the whole "not scary" thing.
I never liked The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror's American story, and thought the Tokyo DisneySea story would have made for a better Twilight Zone plot.
I still think Dark Souls 2 is terrible compared to Demon Souls and Dark Souls. It feels like From focused more on quantity than quality.
I still think Dark Souls 2 is terrible compared to Demon Souls and Dark Souls. It feels like From focused more on quantity than quality.
It wasn't as well designed as either games but it was still pretty fun.
Isn't that the general consensus among fans of the series?
Because it's good and deserves it. Just because people think it's good doesn't mean they're all saying it's the greatest.
The second one is a really good game imo but the first one is better.
i prefer 2010's music to all music
i prefer 2010's music to all music
Interesting, I haven't really thought of those reasons you provided as a reason for why one would think the 2010s has had the best music so far.
Guitar solos longer than 30 seconds are just annoying. Especially if its in a 70s/80s/90s song. I get the point, you have a guitar in the band, congratulations. Now move on to the next set of noise, thanks.
at least it's not this song when it comes to solos Though maybe I don't have the drugs required to appreciate this what drugs did they even do in the 60s for... uhh.. research?
I still think Dark Souls 2 is terrible compared to Demon Souls and Dark Souls. It feels like From focused more on quantity than quality.
Dark Souls in my opinion is the worst. At least every area in DSII was completed. I could tilt my camera in the Lost Izalith and see un-textured areas left grey. Most of the game was lazy, the developers said it themselves, the armor design was a shit, and it had resorted to the simple "gritty-fantasy" then the original "Horror Fantasy" in Demon's Souls. The soundtrack was un-inspired, it just tried to sound over-the-top and epic, while Demon's Souls has a subtlety to it all, adding waaay more atmosphere. DSI didn't feel desolate and hopeless, it just felt I was there, in some unusual world. DeS and DSII at least didn't have complete frame-rate drops in certain areas of the game. The Undead Burg/Parish was the only part that felt equal to DeS, as the game later just lacked consistency in terms of it's world designs. DSII may have had really unsatisfying level design, but at least it was well-rounded overall. The DLC's in DSII was a major improvement, and the Old Iron King DLC was the best one yet. I may not like the idea of them of placing more prominence of summoning for bosses, like[sp]Knight Raime or that Queen in the earlier DLC,[/sp] but the feeling when fighting the bosses in Old Iron King DLC was phenomenal.[sp]Sir Alonne's boss room and OST was fantastic, this is the way most of DSI and DSII should have been with the "gritty fantasy" atmosphere[/sp]. Looking back on the two games, I really loved DSI when I first played it, but later I felt it was just a mere shadow that took ques from DeS such as some characters and Bosses. Lautrec, Logan, Rhea, The Crestfallen Warrior, Maneater Mildred, and maybe even Solarie was just "copy and pastes" of characters in DeS, and it may not be so important, but the game makes you focus on it too much, and I can't un-see it. From Software has always had a habit and issues of reusing some theories and practices from earlier games, and it really shows here, just as other games by FS. The originals just come out on top. Demon Souls was a one-hit wonder, as it had everything of the two later games combined, without the requirement of expansion packs to be better.
I don't like Valve anymore, really. In fact, I'm starting to dislike them.
I don't like Valve anymore, really. In fact, I'm starting to dislike them.
care to at least explain why?
care to at least explain why?
Don't get me wrong, I like their games, but there's a million petty things that I don't like about them that add up, a lot of which have to do with Steam. I don't like their shitty ass refund policy, I don't like what they did to TF2, I don't like their constant reliance on the community to do their own job for them, I don't like their refusal to hire more employees so they can properly manage their giant fucking gaming service, I don't like that it's been 7 years since Half Life 2 and they still won't make 3, I don't like the stupid shitty Early Access system they invented (or at the least popularized) which is causing some pretty hardcore damage to indie games and their quality, I don't like that they have given up on quality control and allowed constant streams of shovelware and old ass titles on to Steam, I don't like that the Steam program is a slow, shitty web browser that lacks tabs, or the ability to see new releases that actually are new, I don't like that the Greenlight system has allowed for bullshit like Gender Bender DNA Twister to be allowed on Steam, I don't like that the Steam servers are molten ass and I'm constantly being disconnected interrupting my chats with friends, I don't like the stupid ass trading card system they implemented which is ENTIRELY a money grab in place of just letting you customize your own fucking profile your own way, I don't like the shitty tagging system, I don't like that their recent summer sale 'competition' was a very shallow thinly veiled (possibly rigged) money grab, I don't like that I have to constantly have Steam as a program open and can't just play my games at least with some lighter DRM, I don't like that they will sell broken games that just straight up don't fucking work, so on and so forth There are good things about Valve too but the constant Steam sales and my overall love for Half Life 2 and the Portal series is not enough to quell my hatred of all the bullshit they do anymore
the only things I agree with are the refunds, and the disconnects. other than that your list is entirely subjective.
They're lucky so many people hold them in such high regard. If any other company tried some of the bullshit they pull they would've had to change it quick or risk losing it all.
the only things I agree with are the refunds, and the disconnects. other than that your list is entirely subjective.
I don't really see any problem with my list being subjective. I would argue that the damage to indie gaming as a result of Early Access is a pretty clear cut fact though, as well as Steam's shovelware/old title issue.
I don't think the fact the cards are a money grab is subjective. Or that greenlight is shit, because its really shit.
I'd argue that Greenlight has been far more beneficial than it is shit. Although some bad apples do get through the cracks, they shouldn't spoil the whole bunch. It has allowed a wider variety of games to be marketed. I'd also argue that Early Access is far more beneficial to Indie developers because it can give them a stream of income while developing their titles, something that surely helps them.
other than that your list is entirely subjective.
Opinions usually are??
I'd also argue that Early Access is far more beneficial to Indie developers because it can give them a stream of income while developing their titles, something that surely helps them.
I think it has quite a negative effect and has the downside of defocusing development as devs start just putting in was many things they can that the community wants until the money well runs dry and they release an unfocused mess. And even then, most games on early access make most of their sales on early access, meaning the game has been played and then left behind by the time it actually gets 'finished'. What incentive is there to make sure the finished product is quality when you've already made all your cash before it's done? As well as a whole host of other problems. But anyway that's a lengthy argument on it's own, that I already wrote a big ass rant for anyway and has already been talked about in length by a whole bunch of different people.
