;46101407']FP is getting shittier and shittier. Most of the prominent mods are immature kids and the standards here are whack as fuck.
It's a place where you can have threads like this but can't have threads about MLP. A place where half of the people with non-liberal political viewpoints and a strong political standing are banned to the point where there are entire pages of some MD threads where there are are hardly an unbanned user.

To be fair most of those radical people get banned because they eventually get angry that people are disagreeing with them, and then they start shitposting.
Also if you're a nazi mods don't seem to care too much as long as you aren't sending people PMs about how transgenders should be hung in the streets or something. And not only that, but the Gold Members Forum is just a place for ~the elite~ to gather and talk shit on other users of the board

I don't really think that being disagreeable, which happens when you have an unpopular opinion, is deserving of a ban. This is why Trall (whose title I was responsible for) and half of the Sanius squad are banned. I'd also argue this is why Max is banned. The modus operandi here is "Stop being disagreeable or shut up or you're banned. You don't get to express your opinion because people don't like it." I mean, I understand there needs to be some limits in terms of decency or general order (no shitposting, no intentionally being offensive (oh wait that's not something enforced), or inciting illegal activity) but that's just plain censorship.

Eh. For thrall and maxofs2d they were both warned, and they consistently turned threads to shit by igniting flame wars. Many of those sanius squad people started shitposting with condescending snipes at least as far as I remember.

Dude nobody cares if you disagree, it's how you do it. Most of the people you cite were banned because instead of arguing with good points they took the passive aggressive path and just spewed witty insults at a keyboard all day. People like Max or SigmaLambda never really took the time to formulate an argument before speaking; they went with the path of least resistance and made witty insults. That's now how you have civil discourse.
There are plenty of people who share Max's or the "Sanius Squad's" opinions openly on these forums. They aren't banned, however, because they aren't assholes.
I don't think people who sit on the toilet with their legs crossed should be able to vote.
First world problems are still problems, and there's nothing wrong with being bothered by them. Somebody always has things worse, to be sure, but people adjust to their environment. Psychology won't allow you to live a problem free life. Even the wealthy have problems, and while those problems might seem ludicrously stupid to us, it's because people's standards change depending on the environment in which they're used to.
In other words, if you spill your coffee on yourself or your phone is acting like an ass, there's nothing wrong with being bothered by it. It's simply how your brain works. It's not a fucking travesty, but most people understand and accept that.
I don't like men wearing pink t-shirt. Especially pewdiepie wearing a pink headset as well.

Yeah, Facepunch is quite leftist, although that's obviously not a flaw, that's just the popular opinion around here, what most people around here consider the right thing. For the most part you'll just get showered in dumbs and ganged up against in political discussions, I don't think bans because of your political views happen that often.
And not only that, but the Gold Members Forum is just a place for ~the elite~ to gather and talk shit on other users of the board
there's no ~~~elite~ on the gold members forum, it's just average normal working-joe kinda guys who have pmuch grown up with each other on this forum for like 6 years talking about day to day stuff like films and games n shit
there's a lot of laughing at other sections of the forum on there yeh because there's a lot of fucking weirdoes worth laughing at. when you have a forum section that is inhabited by normal, well-adjusted people, obviously they're gonna poke fun at the waves of users that want to fuck children and dogs and wank over cartoons all day, or all the people that can't sleep because their mind is too preoccupied with whatever the latest gaming conspiracy theory is
[editline]29th September 2014[/editline]
i imagine the people who say the gold members is an elite club would in real life walk into a circle of friends who are talking among themselves and then loudly exclaim "do you like video games my favourite video game is dota" and then get really confused when they look confused and nervously awkward, then walk away mumbling "wow elitest pricks"

That's one part i'm not fond of on Facepunch. If we all end up forcing anyone with a different opinion out of our own little group then we've pretty much created a political echo chamber. Then we're no better than fucking tumblr.
Personally, i think that the "oldies" of rock are stupidly overrated. I do not understand how anybody could love it. Its boring and very under developed.
But i respect that they are the influences of the heavy bands i listen to today so i do not hate them, i just think they are very overrated.

Personally I think that people who think this about Tumblr have never actually been on Tumblr because as they are right now Facepunch is far more of a close minded echo chamber than Tumblr.

not actually sure if this is satire or not like those posts on /v/ saying video games shouldn't be judged on how fun they are, but if it's not then what
most greentexts are unfunny.

tbf I also don't think video games have to be fun. That's a restriction. Videogames are an artform struggling to develop outside of a huge amount of barriers and that games have to be inherently "fun" is not something I agree with. Games can be good without being fun. Films don't have to be fun or enjoyable to be considered good, for instance. In fact a lot of famous filmmakers have made acclaimed careers for being not conventionally enjoyable eg Michael Haneke or Gaspar Noe are two of my favourites but none of their films are an enjoyable experience to watch.

Generally I wouldn't play or watch something ebjoyable
Also, I don't really get why it matters weather or not video games are art, same with other media.
Art doesn't really have any meaning in terms of quality, something that is mostly subjective
Windows 8.1 is a good OS and the majority of people who hate on it are just jumping on the bandwagon.

I dont really play games that are unenjoyable either but like I think Spec Ops The Line is the best shooter in years and it's a deliberately not-fun criticism of the genre it belongs to and it's one of my favourite games for that reason. Its generic kind of not that fun gameplay hammers home its themes and message. I can accept and appreciate that easily.
i guess i mean games dont have to be conventionally "fun" to still be good/enjoyable. Like to return to films Gaspar Noe's film Irreversible (since i already mentioned him) has an almost 10 minute rape scene which is fucking hard to watch but it works really well in the context of the film because it shows you how fucking bad it is and actually is more morally acceptable than not showing it fully because it's not censoring the awfulness of rape etc. Like it is a painful scene but a very very good one because although it's not enjoyable it's not trying to be, it has a different agenda. Games can have agendas outside of being "fun" as well.

Uh, isn't music kinda supposed to be for entertainment? You have to enjoy something for it to be entertaining.
Music shouldn't be judged by how much you like it, but for the impact that it had.
You sound like you're one post away from that 'fun is a buzzword' guy.
Enjoyment would be an impact
i think hes trying to say that we should enjoy whatever music we want, but also to respect music that had a huge impact but that we don't enjoy
like i dont care much for the beatles, but they were one of the most successful bands of all time and they had a lot of influence
Metal sucks.
Metal sucks.
metal is like the BIGGEST and BROADEST genre I know
sub genres have sub genres that have sub genres for crying out loud, it can't all be bad
i think the new call of duty looks pretty cool

It's an unpopular opinion, all right. I just can't get into it. Some mild (is that the right word?) metal (for example: Linkin Park's Blackout) is still OK. But none of the songs from this genre appeal to me.
