Man, Gattca was a pretty legit movie though. Watched it in my Bio class sophomore year.
unpopular Facepunch opinion: automerge fucks up for so many people in some way or another they should revamp it, retool it, or disable it. There's an enormous amount of 'woops my automerge' that occurs despite the problem being very easily solved by avoiding double posting and just editing your last post. It should be changed to avoid this, in whatever way possible. People should be encouraged to edit their last post rather than get into the habit of double posting and risking fucking up a finnicky system that doesn't always work.
It's not like an extra post actually means anything anyways.
I agree with eugenics from a bit less of an extreme extent. But trying to argue it in this thread would be pointless. So I'd just rather not.
Eugenics could work in my opinion but only if it isn't done through preventing certain people from having children but going and fixing the problems their children would have and so long as absolutely every person had access to that service. Of course this is currently not something we can do but it's something to consider in the future when we're advanced enough. At that point we'll basically be directly in charge of our own evolution.
You think advancing evolution through genetic engineering would be a bad thing for mankind as a whole? Alrighty then
would you be quiet you pseudo-intellectual sociopath
would you be quiet you pseudo-intellectual sociopath
Again, no argument, just insult. This forum has a lot of growing up to do as a whole.
I didn't say it was an argument because clearly you're so delusional no one will be able to change you view
I didn't say it was an argument because clearly you're so delusional no one will be able to change you view
In what way am I being a sociopath? I'm not advocating ending any lives or hurting any living people. Sorry that I'm moral enough to know that if me popping out a baby isn't going to benefit humanity I shouldn't do it?

As long as we waste time insulting eachother and killing eachother humanity will never progress.
You're delusional if you think that the human race is truly better off with the unintelligent/mentally retarded/people with major hereditary disabilities breeding like rats. Personally I won't be having kids at all, not because of my genetics but I think having kids in a world that we live in now is just immoral.
Why is 'delusional' your favorite insult anyway? It just makes all your posts more laughable since it's blatantly obvious that you have no grasp of reality.
At least I'm never the one to result to personal insults.
Oh, never mind, you're just a troll.
Guy is plainly trolling you all
I think this has been a terrible year for gaming. There just aren't any memorable games, I'd like to blame indie development but that would be to vague and naive. Early access, public funding that end in unfulfilled promises, developers trying to make CoD-style, CoD-popular multiplayer shooters, DLC. All I want to see is a company commit to a game that is released already fully developed and completed, like games used to be, not a half-assed stories that need to be completed by DLC, early access games that will obviously that months, even years to make that'll will lose their charm in the first week. Maybe I'm being terrible at explaining this but I miss when I could buy complete videogames, play them, finish them and be done with it. Not this excruciating wait period of updates and bug fixes and shitty multiplayer games. Where did the need to immerse a player into the story go? Where are the games that gave us memorable moments?
I hear Shadow of Mordor is an excellent game.
I don't watch porn, seriously, I've seen plenty of it and I don't get aroused by it at all. I just don't understand what the big deal is about it. Or I could just be asexual.

They could spend their time doing something that actually helps minorities gain social and legal equality, but instead they act like a plant that gets you high is the pinnacle of progress.
I always need some kind of background noise, whether it being a fan, the TV, etc. Complete silence makes me nervous for some reason.

Shadow of Mordor looks pretty good, but its combat seems to fall into the same mindless rubbish where enemies wait patiently until the game schedules them to attack, and if you watch for the counter/dodge cues you can be immune to damage. It's terribly half-arsed, and it gives you an unjustified safety net when you fail to remain in stealth. The rest of the game clearly makes up for it, but the combat in some of these games is just silly.

Sure, it's not the most realistic thing in the world, but I enjoy those kinds of combat mechanics.
I like JonTron's videos a lot, they're brilliant. He seemed alright when he was on the TGS and Co-Optional podcasts and he seems alright on panels at cons and stuff but my got his twitter makes me hate him more and more
I want to like JohnTron's videos, but I can't for some reason. He seems like he tries too hard to be funny. Which is sad, because I can tell he puts effort into his videos.
I kind of see what you mean, if someone told me about his videos and his humor I'd probably hate it but his delivery is really really good

I'd be lying if I said I didn't have fun in AC:Brotherhood, but the brawls just seem too easy - you don't have to be so careful when the enemies don't exploit their numbers advantage over you. Not to mention the myriad of fairly overpowered stuff like arrow storm, smoke bombs and call recruits, which let you end pretty much any brawl in a victory with a few button presses. For a game with something of a focus on stealth, there seems to be very little penalty for being spotted (unless it would fail the mission instantly). But then again, I have fun watching my recruits swoop in and clean up too, so game design must be more complicated than I give it credit for. Video games
I think sometimes PewDiePie can be entertaining

The enemies are much more aggressive than Assassin's Creed, there are multiple enemy types including ones you can't counter, and ranged enemies who don't wait for you to be open. The game is much more like Batman than Assassin's Creed. It's also not a stealth game, stealth is just an option.

Are there more important social issues? Sure, there's always going to be, but maybe if the government stopped wasting tax payer money fighting a useless war and quit locking people up over a plant we would be able to fully focus our attention on those social issues. And LGBT rights have already come a long way in the past decade, so it's not like we aren't helping minorities gain equality.
