People just looking for things to feel superior about and shitpost without any consequence imo.
I dunno man, it isn't good to have with minors.
I agree and I'm completely in on removing it, but that really doesn't excuse the complete and total breakdown of any form of civility. That goes for both sides. Maybe I'm just too nice for the topic.
I don't get Anime... Sorry just can't stand it
A lot of people have been saying recently that saying you don't like anime is like saying you don't like movies, but I don't think that's true at all. Films are a worldwide form of entertainment, with cultural differences between all of them (unless it's Hollywood). Anime is exclusively Japanese, and while I understand there's different genres to anime and different styles, there's aspects to it that are inherent because of the unitary culture (being super Japanese) behind it which a lot of people don't like, and it's understandable why. I watched Gurren Lagann and most of Kill la Kill recently, and while it was entertaining, I can definitely understand why people would say "how do people like this?"

Teen Titans and Totally Spies exists, and I think The Boondocks also counts as western anime
It's more like saying you don't like comic books or novels And saying it's entirely Japanese wouldn't be correct. Teen Titans and Totally Spies exists, and I think The Boondocks also counts as western anime
I'd say there's even more of a discrepancy with novels, because the availability of writing a book can let even more people anywhere publish something, and the different cultures again create a lot of differences between books. Now I agree with comic books for the most part because its almost exclusively American, but they're also a thing that a lot of people make fun of or just don't take seriously as a form of entertainment, at least not as much as other mediums.
I dunno man, it isn't good to have with minors.
i've been watching porn since i was 9 and i turned out alri.... ah shit
People just looking for things to feel superior about and shitpost without any consequence imo.
You can say that again, literally every other post is a shitpost pointing out how superior they are to those users who post in that thread. We've been over this multiple times - if you're coming into a discussion to say something, say it and be gone, don't keep coming back to try and make other people look small just because of the opinions they hold. Can't these people carry on a single discussion without resorting to thinly veiled and overt flaming and insults? That would be too much to ask because of almost all that crowd who posted in the thread, I feel only CheeseMan had the right idea and posted relevant arguments as to why the threads should go. Now suddenly it's turned into 'ban fast threads' being slipped into a few posts here and there because 'nothing of consequence takes place there.' What a joke.
I don't care about gamersgate and all the gaming journalism shit
There is so much more important shit going on in the world, but no, my video games are in danger because video game journalists are shitty (which isn't even a new thing). And GamerGate is a dumb name too.
There is so much more important shit going on in the world
that you also don't care about Seriously, I hate this argument with a burning passion, regardless of when or by who it's used. It's almost as bad as "he could have spent that money on charity, instead of xyz" as long as you're explaining why you personally don't give a damn about something, it's completely fine. But trying to apply this argument to others makes no sense and make you sound like a total douchbag
The ultimate irony to Gamergate is that it all started when games journalism didn't report on what was, at the time, an unsubstantiated rumor that was targeting someone who already had a history of being slandered. So in other words: they had some actual journalistic integrity for once, and that was the straw that broke the camel's back. It was also ironic how The Internet Aristocrat began his video on the matter with a parody of the opening to Jesse Ventura's TV show, a show about a self obsessed blowhard blatantly lying on an international broadcast to get attention and support from individuals of questionable sanity, it makes for an ironic opener to a show about a self obsessed blowhard blatantly lying on an international broadcast to get attention and support from individuals of questionable sanity.

How? And individuals of questionable sanity, does thinking that journalists should be more impartial make you insane? And at the beginning I could sympathize with the journalists some, but as more and more information came out I was pretty much convinced to support gamergate. I pretty much only go by word of mouth and totalbiscuit now.
Can someone explain gamersgate to me. I've seen some shit described before but I don't think I understood. People are fighting corruption in video game journalism and the journalists are saying gamers are sexist? Then some people got doxxed, what? Something about Phil fish?
Can someone explain gamersgate to me. I've seen some shit described before but I don't think I understood. Girl makes game called depression quest, she allegedly sleeps with journalists who then promote her game. And then something about a mailing list comes up, you can go watch the internet aristocrat's videos or totalbiscuit's if you wanna know pretty much all the information thus far.
I never liked any Assassin Creed game.
Kiss Me Thru The Phone is the best love song in the past 10 years
It was also ironic how The Internet Aristocrat began his video on the matter with a parody of the opening to Jesse Ventura's TV show, a show about a self obsessed blowhard blatantly lying on an international broadcast to get attention and support from individuals of questionable sanity, it makes for an ironic opener to a show about a self obsessed blowhard blatantly lying on an international broadcast to get attention and support from individuals of questionable sanity.
I don't know much about that but his videos are insufferable.
Him being self-obsessed and a liar? How? And individuals of questionable sanity, does thinking that journalists should be more impartial make you insane?
I was referring to TiA in general. Like it or not he and his usual target audience are pretty much every stereotype that anti-GG people are saying GG is made of. You can look at his other videos for proof of that.
And at the beginning I could sympathize with the journalists some, but as more and more information came out I was pretty much convinced to support gamergate. I pretty much only go by word of mouth and totalbiscuit now.
Let me ask, again, on what issues now? On what subjects? On the issue of.. which games are worth the money, and which games are not, perhaps? Because I seriously don't see what else they could possibly have to say, all the journalists, youtubers and whoever the fuck who claim to be so "interested" in video games. Video games are a business, almost like any other, and the only thing that talks is money. The money which comes from our pockets.
The main reason that I don't care much about gamergate is because I only read one gaming magazine anyway, and it's actually very good in terms of pretty much everything (including the so-called "journalistic integrity") however I imagine that I would be pretty pissed off if I had to read through the same bullshit that you guys do, so I can sympathize with gg supporters
Kiss Me Thru The Phone is the best love song in the past 10 years
A love song about a mundane activity many people do every day?
Kiss Me Thru The Phone is the best love song in the past 10 years
Fucking Bedrock is a better love song than that.
Fucking Bedrock is a better love song than that.
I GOT THAT NIGGA, GROCERY BAG
that you also don't care about
Wow thanks, without you I would have never known that I actually don't care about things. I thought I actually cared the shit ISIS is doing, and cops shooting kids. But I guess I don't. That's a load off my mind, now I can focus on those pesky video game blogs. [editline]18th October 2014[/editline] Usually I would agree that the argument I made was bad, but I just don't see the importance of Gamergate compared to something like the ebola outbreak happening now.
Kiss Me Thru The Phone is the best love song in the past 10 years
I have no idea what that song even is but this seems an odd claim for you to make considering you're like 13 or so iirc. At your age it seems extremely unlikely that you would actually be familiar enough with all the love songs released in the past ten years to make a claim like that.

People are concerned about an issue which directly affects them, one that they actually have the ability to change. That is why they care about Gamergate, and why they don't want to shut up about it. Furthermore, saying it is about "pesky video game blogs" is dumb as fuck, and shows that you are talking about it without even knowing what the entire situation is about. People can be concerned about multiple things, people who care about Gamergate can still care about other world issues like ebola and ISIS. The thing is, ebola and ISIS are not things that directly concern a lot of people, because they don't have a direct effect on their lives. An individual can't really do anything to change those situations by talking about them on the internet. I get the feeling that you see yourself as a superior individual compared to people who care about Gamergate because you are concerned about "real issues", and that somehow you are actually making a difference with these things. This isn't true. You saying "OH but I care about REAL issues like EBOLA and ISIS" doesn't mean shit. You aren't doing anything to improve those situations, you are just being "concerned" about them. Good job! I can see those kids being unshot by those cops, ISIS being eliminated, and the ebola outbreak being contained just because you are concerned. No idea why you would continue to make terrible arguments like this if you know yourself that they are bad arguments.
Predator's minigun > the chainsaw grip minigun you see in today's movies.

I have had to explain to people what Ebola is. I still can't really tell what gamergate is about, there are like 100 different sides to it that say they are right. I'm sorry if it upsets you that I don't see the importance of "the corruption of video game journalism", an already joke of an industry that I don't understand why people still pay attention to.
I get the feeling that you see yourself as a superior individual
Nice assumption, it's not like I don't see a lot of pro gamergate people having an holier-than-thou attitude about the whole thing.
I thought I actually cared the shit ISIS is doing, and cops shooting kids. But I guess I don't.
Oh so it's okay for you to ignore topics and issues at hand like the income inequality in much of Eastern Europe and the horrendous living conditions for refugees in southern Turkey? I mean, wait, surely you care about those, right?
