Modern Movies. I can't think of anything good movies in 10 years. Too many movies have bad/stupid characters, shakey cam fight scenes and so on and so on.
Movie books are pretty lame. See: Divergent, Maze Runner, Hunger Games
Okay, I haven't kept up with Assassin's Creed in a long time but I have to ask: Aliens? What.
http://assassinscreed.wikia.com/wiki/The_First_Civilization Created humans, were worshiped like gods, created the Pieces of Eden, some went crazy with power and want to take over/destroy the planet, etc. I just called them aliens for simplicity's sake.
the beatles are really overrated

The "games should be pure entertainment, not thought provoking" line of thought is a lot more idiotic than the idea that games can or should be thought provoking. Video games have more potential as a thought provoking art form than films or television can, plenty of people would argue they have more potential as entertainment too, if film is an art form capable of having things that're both entertaining, and those that're thought provoking, then why should video games not use their potential to do the same? I always find it odd, almost nobody actually suggests that thought provoking or "art" films or games need to completely replace entertaining ones, just that they should be a thing because there's people who want them, but there's tons of people who'll jump to delusions of persecution and anti intellectual backlash.
Wendy's fries > McD fries
Movie books are pretty lame. See: Divergent, Maze Runner, Hunger Games
Movies that are based on books but are then inexplicable split into far too many films, thus having to add a stupid extra sub-plot that never happened are stupid. See: The Hobbit trilogy. [sp]and I fucking loved the films.[/sp]

One con video games and film share for example is that they're often made by large teams, which can often lead to the message being changed or diluted. Also I'm willing to bet the people that say that were saying it while thinking of examples of "art games" that were bad, such as gone home and dear esther; they probably don't literally mean they want all of their games to be all-action packed with zero plot. The problem with Dear Esther and to a lesser extent gone home is that they don't really use the strengths of video games which is their interactivity, not much would be lost if they were in some other form of medium.
I like Oblivion but yeah Skyrim is really quite bad imo, very uninteresting game. All show no depth whatsoever really. And it's VERY repetitive in like all aspects. You never really feel like you're doing anything either which is a massive failure for a game about you taking on the role of the hero that saves the world.
I feel like I've said this 15 times in this thread but imo Oblivion was the worst of the latest three Elder Scrolls games by far and I don't get why everyone here likes it. They took what could have been an interesting setting and actually fucked with the lore to make it more generic. Shivering Isles was good but there wasn't enough of it. I think some of the good quests in Oblivion were better than the Skyrim quests but for the most part they were dull in both games and I think Skyrim was an overall improvement in most areas.
I like that DB quest where you're at a house party and you can play around with the victims to make them think someone else is the killer. Wish Skyrim had more stuff like that

I'll be quite honest, after reading The Walking Dead comics and getting up to date with the newest issue, I feel that the show is lame in comparison. The comic is infinitely better, and my hype for the show has gone from a raging blaze to a few lit candles. I understand that they're changing things around in order to adapt it to television (all of the unnecessary filler, for example), but certain scenarios and characters coming in the future are highly at risk of being changed and/or cut out. They swapped out [sp]the snowed in neighborhood for the CDC facility[/sp], they even watered down some characters or killed them off at a weird time ([sp]although I did like how Shane lasted longer in the show than in the comic, but I think Carl should have been the one to kill him in the show[/sp]). Back to the future, I have a strong feeling in my gut that they're going to either neuter/cut out [sp]Negan[/sp], because of [sp]just how extremely vulgar and psychotic he is, and his likable charm is what makes him more of a redeemable character than the governer, even though he's also a piece of shit nutjob.[/sp]
The Walking Dead has been lame since Season 1 ended [editline]31st October 2014[/editline] B-grade TV that is for some reason held up alongside the A-graders like Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones. Idk why, cos it's more on the level of Bates Motel or whatever other cheesy junk mums with teenage kids watch.
sphinxa279 is a second coming of seano
The Walking Dead is off to a good start with season 5. I've always loved the show, but yeah, the comics are far superior. There's almost no comparison.
Yeah, but for the show's sake, I hope they don't neuter anymore characters or swap out scenarios for lame ones in the future.
Walking dead S1 = good S2 = decent S3 = shit [SP] All they do is sit in their jail and plan a war against the governor and when it happens it only goes on for 2 minutes. literally. and no one important dies.[/SP] S4 = shittiest [SP] In S4 no one puts their foot outside the jail. They just sit around, and the only thing that happens is that their fence starts to break down then suddenly bam the governor kills Hersel and thats it [/SP]
