I hate people that try to seem smart by being anti-school Saying things such as "I don't need to go to school it stifles creativity" or "Steve Jobs dropped out of school!!!" If school stifles your creativity then that is your fault, it means that you are too easily controlled and can't think for yourself. And Steve Jobs is more of an exception than the rule, he also got really lucky since he just made Steve Wozniak do everything. Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_ZmM7zPLyI I get unreasonably angry watching this, why did it even come up in my feed fuggg
Self-education can be much more effective when it comes to actually learning and understanding a topic since you can progress at either a faster or slower speed depending on how easily you're grasping the content. Versus school where you can end up bored out of your mind or left behind. Schools also have questionable ideas in place such as having huge standardized tests at the end of the year. (explanation) Though deciding to not go to school is simply a bad idea.
Grinding in games is good.... it gives me a feeling of accomplishment :v:
Grinding in games is good.... it gives me a feeling of accomplishment :v:
I never really grind in games unless it's Pokemon. It's always a bitch reaching Pewter City when it turns out your Pokemon are weak babby garbage who can't beat those stupid rock types yet.
I will forever be okay with Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull entirely on the virtue that it's better in every way than Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
Grinding

feeling of accomplishment
It's one or the other, boyo, take your pick. You can't have both unless you're a RuneScape botting program made by a Chinese gold farmer.
Grinding in games is good.... it gives me a feeling of accomplishment :v:
This isn't an unpopular opinion this is just wrong. [editline]29th December 2014[/editline]
boyo

Shadow of Mordor deserves to win GOTY. Thank God for the PS3 patch, though. The game was so fucking unfinished before.
what's patched about it? honestly I'd, recommend either the next gen or pc versions of the game. I'm glad that I watched a gameplay video and saw what was wrong with that version. plus you're missing out on the full nemesis system experience.
I think Sm4sh is a complete snoozefest. I just can't get into it. It's hella boring.
I think Sm4sh is a complete snoozefest. I just can't get into it. It's hella boring.
Does it have story like Brawl? If it doesn't then that's what's turning me off of it.
Does it have story like Brawl? If it doesn't then that's what's turning me off of it.
It doesn't have a story. [editline]29th December 2014[/editline] The problem with it is its overall sleeptacular gameplay though
It doesn't have a story. [editline]29th December 2014[/editline] The problem with it is its overall sleeptacular gameplay though
No smash for me then.
This isn't about my opinion, but an opinion of a friend of mine's. He thinks the Interview is a good movie. I consider it to be one of the worst films I've ever witnessed and I believe Franco should stand trial for his crimes. I asked him what it is he liked about this film, and the conversation quickly devolved into a chaotic mess of insults and actually venomous hatred. This movie was so bad it is actually destroying my real-life friendship with a man I've been best friends with since 3rd grade. I'm upset but I also am also in awe that a movie can be so bad.
If a disagreement over a movie is actually destroying your friendships then it was probably time that you re-evaluate them anyway.
The saddest part here is the fact you're destroying a friendship of yours because they liked a movie.
I still don't know what I said to set him off, if I even did. This is shaping up to be a shitty New Years vacation.
Grinding is terrible and makes me want to either stop playing or just cheat.
I agree except just flat out remove "want to" from the equation. Either that or I'll just keep playing regardless of being too weak or underleveled because I refuse to grind, lol. I've done that for several games including Persona 3 and some of the Castlevanias. Both of which can become a massive challenge if you're unwilling to grind. (Specifically Aria of Sorrow on hard mode and Order of Ecclesia for the Castlevania bit.)
I saw the recent CGI adaption of The Lorax. To be honest, I was a bit surprised; it didn't fuck up the original message of the story, and actually got pretty dark as the Once-Ler was telling his story. Despite falling into a couple tired tropes ("cool-grandma", most notably, along with Villian-that-tries-to-be-scary-and-fails), it was a pretty decent movie overall, and I actually kinda liked the dystopian aspects of Thneedville. My previous impression was that it had fucked up and turned the very dark and serious story of the lorax into a happy-go-lucky candy comedy, but I think it did they did a good job with it.
Not sure how unpopular this opinion is but I really like Psych and it's probably my favorite TV show, together with House and i'm still sad it got cancelled.
I liked Duke Nukem Forever. I like Call of Duty.
I don't like Alan Wake, why you ask? because the "taken" are just shadow zombies. I found the [sp]old woman villain[/sp] to be forgettable/uninteresting. Alan Wake was an unlikeable asshole (in my opinion)[sp]the main story ended in a cliff hanger and was concluded in a dlc.[/sp] the only thing I liked in Alan Wake was Barry, even though Barry was just the generic fat friend. I have only played Alan Wake and not the American nightmare DLC, nor do I plan to...
I like Call of Duty.
Judging by the sales figures this is not an unpopular opinion.
Those "10/10 would x or y again" Steam reviews aren't very funny anymore and are getting really overdone and becoming stale. It's like people are doing it now just to get the top review on the game's store page, like it's fine to be funny in a review but christ, the top review for nearly every Steam game now has "10/10 would x or y again" in it or something along the lines of " got x did x, 0/10 would not play again etc"
I like Call of Duty.
That's not exactly an unpopular opinion considering those yearly sales numbers are still high
Valve is not some savior of gaming. Half-life and Half-life 2 are great games, but one was released over sixteen(?) years ago and the other was released a decade ago and is still not complete. If Valve was any other company people would have their heads. [editline]29th December 2014[/editline] and I'd like to clarify, I don't care about the Half-life series. I've played better. Doesn't mean they're not good games though.
My unpopular opinion: I don't really like Emma Watson that much.
My unpopular opinion: I don't really like Emma Watson that much.
I like Emma, she is the best Hermonie ever, but why does she get such rabid fans? The way fans go about her is ridiculous.
I don't like the way Adventure Time and Regular Show are animated. It's not bad, and I like the shows and all, but I dunno, the animation style (and a lot of the two show's content) give me extreme hipster vibes. I can taste the flannel when I watch it.
I like Emma, she is the best Hermonie ever, but why does she get such rabid fans? The way fans go about her is ridiculous.
I like her as an actress as you say, but beyond that I'm just of the 'who the hell cares' variety. Emma Stone also falls under that category, though I find her a little less attractive...
The gamergate "controversy" is literally one of the most autistic things I have ever seen on the internet. The attention given to it is such that the wikipedia page on it, is actually bigger than the ones on the reformation, printing press, or aristotle. Surely an Encyclopedia should devote more attention to things which had a real impact on the world rather than an outrage over a bunch of indie developers and games journalists (both of which are talentless hacks anyways) fucking each other.
The attention given to it is such that the wikipedia page on it, is actually bigger than the ones on the reformation, printing press, or aristotle.
Something to keep in mind when comparing it to those things though is that it's something happening now meaning it can be more thoroughly documented. And this isn't an opinion on the situation itself, just that the Wikipedia page on it being bigger than others on older situations does make some amount of sense. Aristotle for example was someone who lived nearly 2500 years ago. All the information we have on him is stuff that was written down about him and not lost over those centuries. And at the time, documenting things was a lot more costly than it is now as well so people were less willing to document trivial things.
