I love gaiaonline
I think Reddit is a decent online community, although a bit biased on the liberal side. I also think Family Guy is pretty funny.
Dr. Pepper tastes bad in my opinion
Eating meat is harming the planet, and most of you have the choice of being vegan.
Actually it is not. From a purely Biological point of view, predators are supposed to kill animals to regulate the local ecology system.
Actually it is not. From a purely Biological point of view, predators are supposed to kill animals to regulate the local ecology system.
Fundamentally, yeah. But domestication changed that. Compared to growing food, animal farming is pretty inefficient. Time for steak!
I Think Nietzche sucks and is highly overrated.
Ayn Rand was really smart. :v:
Ayn Rand was really smart. :v:
All I've seen from her is her saying that reality is an objective absolute, but then go on to say things like "It is unethical to love someone who does not deserve it", which is a subjective judgement...
Ayn Rand was really smart. :v:
Descartes demonstrated that the existence of an objective universe exterior to the mind is not objectively demonstrable, since the sensory perceptions upon which we rely as "evidence" of its existence are inherently subjective and unreliable. That's already a massive flaw in her philosophy. She also never really took any education in economics, writing, philosophy, or the sciences. Her writing always made it very easy to spot within seconds who was an antagonist or not too, mainly because of the less than subtle character description.
Most people are fat because they have poor metabolism, not because they eat too much.
That's what I thought, but it's false. For example, I am very skinny and every time me and my fat friend would get pizzas, we'd eat the same amount(basically one pizza per person). I thought I just have better metabolism, but then I found out he's eating every 2 hours while I eat 2 times a day. I also lurked subreddits about losing and gaining weight(the day I found out I eat way too little compared to "normal" people). It's a huge difference.
Ayn Rand was really smart. :v:
Saying somebody is smart doesn't necessarily mean you agree with them on much.
I don't think there's ever been a truly awful president in the history of the United States. That includes the commonly referenced presidents like Carter, Nixon, and Johnson.
I don't think there's ever been a truly awful president in the history of the United States. That includes the commonly referenced presidents like Carter, Nixon, and Johnson.
Jackson maybe?
Jackson maybe?
He was a douche and that whole Trail of Tears thing wasn't exactly the highlight of his presidency, but no, I don't think he was a terrible president. Perhaps the bottom of the barrel in rankings, but that's only relatively bad, not bad overall.

In my experience (Australia) black people are more racist than white people.
I really like these recent free-to-play trends regarding video games, especially for iOS. When Real Racing 3 was released everyone bitched and whined because it was released for free, but what exactly was there to whine about? You get a game for free which is far superior to its predecessors in every aspect (tracks, cars, driving, graphics etc), you can drive every car in the game and race on every track in the game. The only in-app purchases are if you want to make repairs or have upgrades be done instantly, or if you're impatient with earning in-game money and want to buy your way to riches. I haven't spent a cent on the game but I've already amassed total winnings of $1.5 million in-game dollars and have a sick garage from it (MP4-12C, 911 GT3 RS, M3 GTS are just some of the cars I have). So while everyone bitches about free-to-play games I'll be enjoying them, and especially the fact that I haven't paid a cent for them. Yes it depends on the free-to-play model that each game uses, but in this case you are at no disadvantage if you don't spend any money in the game. There are tonnes of other free-to-play games out there that are great such as Dungeon Hunter 4 which is pretty fun and I haven't spent a cent on that either, although I suppose for that game it can be made easier if you do buy in-app things. Hasn't stopped me from enjoying it though.
Saying somebody is smart doesn't necessarily mean you agree with them on much.
Yes but most people think (with good reason) that she is dumber than hell anyways, agree or disagree.
I think Brink is still a good game, but the ATi problems and the shitty release price tag was the nail in the coffin. It's a shame that it's dead.
Twerking is not hot, it makes you look fucking retarded.
When I see the emoticon :) I always feel like it's meant in a mocking/ironic manner. I like TF2 better now than I did before.
I think that Smosh aren't nearly as bad as everyone makes them out to be. There, I said it.
i agree with what jontron said on game grumps recently, pumping out that much creative content that regularly is pretty respectable
I disagree with the Berka, I think that a lot of women are pressured into wearing it in order to be a "good" Muslim, and it's sexist considering it turns them into an object that the man owns. I think France was right to ban it, despite my RE teacher treating it like it was blatant racism that they did to hurt the Muslims feelings. Way to get your own views on a bunch of teenagers miss, good job there, we should let Muslim women be oppressed because we might hurt the men's feeeeeelings.
When I see the emoticon :) I always feel like it's meant in a mocking/ironic manner.
I feel the same way with the emoticon ^^, it makes me mad
I don't dislike religion. If people want to believe in Santa Claws and its a harmless religion, let them. What I can't stand are people who 'expresses'/annoy others with their religion by yelling up stuff like: "You're all going to hell". I don't stand up and say "You're all retards and if you're all going to heaven; I'll rater walk the other way".. [/Not targeting religion in anyway, but the people behind them]

I know a few muslim girls who wear burkas and they wear it as part of their cultural identity, not because they were told to. Furthermore, how is it not sexist to restrict what a woman can and can't wear? How is it okay to do that to anyone?

How can someone who completely covers up call that having an 'identity'? It's not a religious requirement and is even banned in some majority Muslim countries. And it's okay to dictate that for the same reason that you're not allowed to wear a balaclava or a motorcycle helmet whilst walking around
