Unpopular opinions! V2: I Don't like half life edition.

I don't really enjoy Red VS Blue, but i find myself enjoying every other Rooster Teeth machinima.
And because I'm apparently on some sort of role tonight, I'll comment on one of the more popular Facepunch sections.
The tf2 section, while host to some real cool and talented people, suffers from a very circlejerk ish attitude about what they like and do not like in tf2, and it's not uncommon to see some poor sod get a whole thread berating them over a choice of weapon, or what hats they are using.
PewDiePie is shitty and he gets views from 4th graders who feel mature because they heard someone make a rape joke, when people that are mature and don't over react at video games for a living don't make rape jokes, because rape jokes are fucking dumb.
I love smell of my feet

Maybe not within Facepunch, but he's the first thing to come up when you put p in the youtube search. He makes more money screaming at video games (about 3k to 40k according to socialblade) Then my Dad does and he's a fucking contract pilot, who actually does a service to people.
You can't compare a contract pilot to someone making videos on the internet.
A sizable chunk of the non-Gmod discussion sections are just circlejerks. The only two welcoming and light-hearted I know of are the Kerbal Space Program and Elder Scrolls threads. If you go into something like the World of Tanks section and say anything negative about the game then you will be swarmed and attacked by a hoard of angry fanboys. Others are like this as well.
the threads don't exist for giving negative criticism to the game, nor should they, they should just be threads for people who like the games to talk about them.
Also, what did you even expect, you want to go speak at a football game about how we should ban sodas to create a healthier america (just an example)? No, you do not, because that is a terrible choice of an audience for the topic. a separate thread in FT talking about why you dislike the game would be much more appropriate
The power and influence of rural peoples is more than what they should be due, especially in countries like America, which should have power reside almost solely with the urban areas.

Hm.. Games discussion. Didn't realize discussion meant you're not allowed to criticize a game.

What's wrong with the beach?

Oh.
I think being a pedophile isn't inherently wrong, yes child molesters are disgusting, but I find myself feeling sorry for people who aren't monsters who'll rape children, but have urges which will get them labeled horrible by todays society and make them feel like a perverted freak of nature.
Imagine being a teenager in the situation, the self hatred that could develop is painful to think about.
I also think for that reason Loli porn is harmless, it's very, very weird yes, but at least it's a way of dealing with that sexual urge without hurting a child.
I fucking love you.
I can definitely relate to what you said. I'm fifteen years old but definitely a pedophile, and I hate the label because it makes me feel like some sort of monster. People act like pedophiles can't live normal lives and sit around lurking, waiting for children to snatch. That's not the case; for example, I'm a pedophile but nobody would ever guess that I was. People would probably call bullshit anyway because I have a girlfriend (who, yes, is my age) and that goes against what uneducated people think about the paraphilia.
Thank you for being an informed poster.
I really hate Daft Punk
I like Ruffneck by Skrillex. The music video is odd but it's amazing on how the beat just makes you go along with it.

When you create a thread about a specific subject you should be prepared to actually discuss it not just sit around fawning over the good aspects of it.
A lot of racial stereotypes are true. Not because of the race, but because of the culture.
For example, the whole 'Asians are good at maths' thing has come about because in some Asian cultures, school and education and treated a lot more seriously, and students tend to study and learn a lot more. Especially for universally taught subjects such as maths. Wheras an Asian/Australian girl who grows up in Australia will probably not be pushed as hard.
Stereotypes do not just appear out of no where. Some can definitely be exaggerated, or skewed. I'm not saying I truly believe all of them. But I don't think they can be considered completely offensive, and justify the same outrage that they currently get from people. And it's definitely shouldn't be racist to be observant of a particular culture.

No. Most people live in the cities these days. I think urban residents should have power, since underpopulated areas are often given too much representation.
DmC was a pretty fun game.

The game is perfectly fine, people are just massive faggots about Donte having a slightly different haircut
I think the cities have too much representation
Why? They do have the majority of people in the country usually. (Unless it's a third world country).
DmC was a pretty fun game.
It's not a great dmc, but it's a fun game in it's own right.
And the cheesy, edgy story/dialogue is ironically funny IMO.

Donte's a grade A+++ buttlord, his character design is shit, and he has a shit eating grin. So no wonder people don't like him :v:

I love his shit eating grin. I'd say it's on par with Agent York's unsmile in terms of how hilariously bad it is.

I'm gonna say it: his character design was never that good to begin with, people are just whining because of change. I will agree that the story was cheesy/~edgy~/etc (not to mention a bit generic on its premise) and not very good if taken seriously.

Oh hey, not mocking you, but using your post as a springboard.
I hate it when people say "It was an okay game, just not a good X" game.
Obama would be a lot less popular if he was white.
Snoop Dogg's Rastafarian "enlightenment" is ridiculously contentious and offensive. This isn't something I'm saying after listening to one song from his "Reggae" album either, the documentary on his "enlightenment" revolved around him visiting a couple of Reggae artists and smoking weed at various locations on the island whilst reminiscing about some of his past misdeeds (even though some of the documentary was genuinely heartwarming).
He doesn't appear to learn anything about the culture and goes straight for the clichéd "weed, Bob Marley and love" perception of the Rastafari movement, merely choosing to pick certain aspects to adopt into his new persona. For example, during the entire trip he's kitted out in Adidas tracksuits and shiny chains (which contradicts the Rastafari rejection of materialism). The same applies to how he created his album which features the tedious "smoke weed, praise jah and love your fellow man" theme presented throughout his "conversion". The entire experience feels like a massive commercial exercise to keep him in the spotlight a little while longer.
Say what you want to about his gangster Rap material but at least it was honest stuff, I treat his Reincarnated album with much skepticism.
I do think there may be a bit of a double standard when it comes to criticism of games that are too much like Call of Duty. There are certainly franchises, such as Deadrising where Call of Duty elements are inappropriate, but a military game that developers put their hearts into can be satisfying experiences. Twitch shooters, as much as I love them, such as Painkiller and Bulletstorm, seem to be immune from the same criticism for being too much like Doom. But then again, twitch shooters/Doom clones haven't been common since the 90's, and I was too young to notice if there was.
While I don't understand bronies and furries, I think it's wrong to bully and judge them, and it's extremely hypocritical to do that if you're a geek of something yourself. I know that's not an opinion that's likely to spawn flames or anything, I do wish more people would say it, and more often.
But, to refill my douche-o-meter, I really don't like playing as feminine protagonists in video games. It didn't ruin Zelda for me that Link looks like a lesbian dressed as Peter Pan, but I generally prefer masculine protagonist. But I still don't have the right to have too much of a problem with that because there already are a lot of masculine protagonist and I'm sure a lot of people prefer a bishonen over a manly man.

That's not necessarily a bad thing.

But why though? You're saying that you should give the game a chance instead of blindly hating it because it doesn't fit the rest of the series/ didn't live up to the hype/ whatever.
