Who remembers the last F-Zero or Star Fox game? I dont. It really feels like if its not MarioZeldaPokemon Nintendo doesn't care to make it.
I recall the most recent Star Fox game being Star Fox command. That said, I agree, it seems like they don't care.
But as far as I care about Pokemon its really not all that different. Different pokemon isnt a big deal, the general concept of the game and how its structured is the same. Most of everything you listed is cosmetics. And more types is just furthering the rock paper scissors battle style of the original game. Let me break it down like this. 3 starters. Fire Water Grass Plot based around Legendary pokemon, ususally on the cover. Aditional, non plot relevant legendaries An Evil Organization trying to take over the world 8 Gyms Elite Four Champion What pokemon game did I just describe? I feel like pokemon would do a lot better if it went different routes each time. You're not always the trainer trying to be the Champion. I really liked Pokemon Colosseum for this. It got away from the basic structure of Pokemon games and was on a console for a change. You weren't a trainer in that game, you were pretty much an outlaw. They should abuse the fact you're not the same character each game, but instead they all do the exact same thing Red did in the first game.
You don't really understand the idea of a series or franchise do you? Or for that matter know what half the things I listed were.
You don't really understand the idea of a series or franchise do you? Or for that matter know what half the things I listed were.
Is the idea of the franchise to be the same game with different sprites and slightly different moves each time? I literally cant see a reason to play any pokemon game beyond Gen 2. Its the most balanced, and the largest. Gen 3 was the last game to add anything really significant to the game. Double Battles. Gen 4 was bland Gen 5.... didn't really change anything. The Tripple turn table battle wasn't any different from a single battle. Except it had more sprites on the screen. I know they added new attacks, but the point? A new attack does damage, the old attacks did damage. This one just has a different sprite look. I mean people aren't playing pokemon for the plot, or the characters. So I see no reason to ever get a new one. Pokemon isn't a bad game, I'll just never buy another one.
With the shit that Nintendo keeps pulling, making Mario, Zelda and Pokemon then nothing else it really makes me wonder why people can even consider them a serious competitor against MS and Sony Most console debates don't even include the Wiiu because nobody takes it fucking seriously They have so much potential but waste it on cementing themselves with the shit they have milked to death, just give Mario a goddamn break and let your team use some imagination for once, nostalgia won't last forever
you make it sound like nintendo does this exclusively.
Agreed, that's the really annoying thing about people saying Nintendo remakes the same games, people act like Nintendo's the only one when the exact same arguments can be equally applied to just about every series ever made.
you make it sound like nintendo does this exclusively.
They don't. But Microsoft and Sony make consoles that actually have third party games. So its easier to break up the monotony of a single series. When you buy Nintendo, you're going to see Mario and Zelda on a console, and a whole lot of nothing. The Wii was a mess just like this, Gamecube too. I still haven't bought a Wii U yet because I'm afraid of another nintendo failure.
I In a lot of cases, people can't really help how tall or short or fat or skinny they are, so you might as well not give a shit about how they look and instead listen to the shit their brain spews out of their mouths.
This asshole keeps forcefeeding me big macs help the diseases that force you to be that way aren't too common... And even your height, a good diet started from a young age can help you be taller I think, no confirmation on that though.
I can't be the only one in the world who doesn't give a shit about physical appearance, as long as the person takes care of themselves (brushing teeth, washing hair, showering, etc). In the Court of the Crimson King and Enter the Wu-Tang were better albums than Abbey Road.
Gasmasks are stupid.
The Wii was a mess just like this, Gamecube too. I still haven't bought a Wii U yet because I'm afraid of another nintendo failure.
The Wii having sold 100 million units is hardly a failure.
The Wii having sold 100 million units is hardly a failure.
Still doesn't make it a good console, most people let it eat dust after about 3 weeks of playtime, it was a gimmicky waste of money imo
Still doesn't make it a good console, most people let it eat dust after about 3 weeks of playtime, it was a gimmicky waste of money imo
It was still hugely successful in the amount it sold. What people did with it afterwards doesn't particularly matter if you are calling it a success or failure. It's in how much money the company made that determines that. I got one and hardly used it. But I still consider it successful because it outsold the 360 and PS3.

I think Ben Stiller is a great and funny actor.
Kalashnikov is shooting himself in the foot for not making an AK derivative that uses STANAG magazines.
I thought The Wizard was pretty good. No, seriously. It's one of my favorite movies.
Just going to input onto the Nintendo rehashing argument, let's put it in perspective based on other games. One could say Half-Life 2 was the same as Half-Life 1, but with less meat, and that the episodes for Half-Life 2 are the same thing as Half-Life 2. You could say Fallout 2 was the same as Fallout 1, and that Fallout: New Vegas was the same as Fallout 3. ARMA 3 is the same as ARMA 2, GTA 5 will be the same as GTA 4, so on and so forth. But that is the reason people like games in a series: they tend to be similar to a game they played previously that they liked.
I think it's more the reusing of an IP than the recreating of a game, ie. Super Mario Sunshine, Mario Galaxy, Mario Tennis, etc. unique games in terms of gameplay, not so unique in terms of characters and story. Zelda's an exception though.

I don't remember where or I'd link it but basically the way they see it, there's no reason to come up with a new platformer IP when they can just make the platformer a Mario game and spend the time they would have used coming up with new characters and story on polishing the game better. If they do a new IP they want it to actually be unique compared to other games they've made.
It just seems lazy to me. Especially because I have no doubt that Nintendo has enough creative minds to make a new classic franchise.
It just seems lazy to me. Especially because I have no doubt that Nintendo has enough creative minds to make a new classic franchise.
They probably have ridiculous quality standards when it comes to a new IP compared to using a tired-and-true rehash.
They probably have ridiculous quality standards when it comes to a new IP compared to using a tired-and-true rehash.
they even have good quality standards for existing games, they said they aren't doing an f-zero game because they can't figure out ways to innovate on it.
I liked Redsteel.
Ketchup is really good.
Fight Club is overrated.
