Mines okay, I work at a Beer Distributer.
I only work Sundays, usually 3-9. It's a fairly slow, so we get to sit in the back room a lot and watch TV.
The cash register is hell though. Some horrible makeshift manual checkout system, that has no format at all. Everything's just spread out randomly, making it very hard to find anything.
Luckily I don't have to use it very often.
Been trying to get a job.
I'm 17 and have no experience to my name.
Just make up a resume and go hand it in to heaps of places, man!
Grocery stores, newsagents, department stores, everywhere. They might not be looking, but they keep your resume on file for a while, and if they need you they'll call.
Good luck. :)
I've been with my first job for almost a year now (got it when I was 15) and I've loved every day of it. I fix computers at a local computer repair center and I couldn't imagine a better job for me to start out with.
I'm glad I didn't apply for Geek Squad or any of that shit because here I'm actually making relationships with my coworkers, customers, and boss. I don't get paid very much ($8 an hour for a job people usually have to get certified for) and people harass me for that ("Why don't you just work at the supermarket? You could be making $10 an hour!") but I just tell them "How many people do you know that work at the supermarket and can say 'I can't wait to go to work today'?"
I'm a lifeguard at a pool. I love it. Nothing ever happens. I pretty much just get paid to sit around.
I direct people to their seats for half an hour, then sit down at the back of the theatre for about 3 hours, depending what show's on. Sometimes I have to sell ice creams, and occasionally confiscate a camera. That part's fun.
I was more or less a labourer for a while at a warehouse, then I got moved up to loading and operating a big compacting machine. The pay was excellent, but the work was pretty awful. The place dealt with truckloads of money, so it was disguised as a film studio. I was lucky I had a connection to get in there since they only take workers they trust. Overtime pay was like $40 per hour. On the downside, it was pretty fatiguing, and I think I developed a sexual preference for cardboard boxes after doing it for too long
Had a job driving charter buses for a small company.
But, they lost most of their contracts in a bid against some bigger companies and as a consequence I lost my routes and got laid off.
Feels bad, man.
Was making $23/h.
Now I applied at a temp agency to see if I can get a job dealing with metal fabrication(welding) again.

That's the way my job is, I have met so many cool people it's like you get paid to do fun shit and screw around all day :D
I just handle online internet leads, it's an alright job. Especially since I can work from home.
i work in the back of a welding supply store; nothing too hard but a bit boring
[editline]28th July 2011[/editline]
cylinders, how ever, are pretty damn heavy with or without gas
i work 4-9 hours at a local food store chain
and during the day i work 40 hours a week + some overtime at an HVAC company
I worked in a small toy store for six months, and it was a great experience. Met lots of cool people. Artists, collectors, and the owners of the nearby stores.
Quit my job, taking the summer off to help my parents move before I go to college
My old job sucked though I worked in a grocery store where I did a little bit of everything such as bagging, cashering, getting carts, unloading trucks, stocking, cleaning, greeting, produce, etc.
Quit my job as an operator sales person in a Shop-in-Shop thingy.
The job itself was alright, but my boss was everything that's wrong with mankind.
Looking for another job that would actually match my ICT education.
im currently in the mobile phone repair business, i enjoy it very much and been doing it for about a year now. i enjoy repairing a mobile as i get a sense of satisfaction when a broken phone enters the workshop and when it leaves and it looks brand new.
McDonalds.
It's not a bad job, I had put in a leave of absence for the summer hoping I could get a job closer to home. Ended up with a dish-washing position for 3 days and quit. In the end, I went back to McDonalds.
I can honestly say I like my job. I don't love it, but it's a lot better than the jobs out there. Plus the fact that I even have a job (in this shit economy) I'm grateful for. Full time, good pay (currently making $7.65. Minimum is $7.40)
The only shit I really have to put up with there is customers who complain about wrong orders, or just want free food. Other than that, I really like my co-workers, managers are nice and pretty cool. Plus McDonalds is a good spot for a resume because it lets employers know you know how to work with a team and it's an assembly line (if you think about it).
I work at EB Games. Yeah, I know the prices are shit and they rip everyone off, but the job itself is nice.
Good hours, and pretty good pay for my age.
Plus, all I do is talk to people about games, and sell them. Easy enough. :3
My first choice was going to be GameStop when I started applying. I found of from a friend you were lucky to work 10 hours a week.
I work at a chain retail store, it's nice, a bit boring at times though. I work at night, so it's mainly helping customers load heavy stuff (trampolines, swing sets etc) into their trucks... or Compact SUVs for the sadists out there.
My school schedule is much more flexible than the others that do my job, so I may get to move to the freight crew soon which means more hours and much more work. Most people seem to dislike that, but with what I'm doing now the time passes so slowly.
Plus, freight is a great workout.
