The PS3 is actually selling more than the Wii is in Japan, and the Xbox is (I think) the most sold console in the US. Noticed how The wii is "The top" on almost everything?

Maybe for this month, but total sales, Wii leads by huge amounts. Kind of a shame, actually.
As for XBox in the US, it is currently (for month of February) leading the Wii by less than 10,000 units/month, with the PS3 not far behind:

The problem is sales from earlier. For instance, here's a graph of 2007/2008 sales in the US:

As you can see, the Wii sold very quickly for a year or three after launch before slowing to the current near-tie. In contrast, the PS3 sold very, very poorly, but is now selling almost as well as the others.

Basically, the Wii won in units sold for this console generation. That doesn't mean anything about which is better, or which has better games. Almost every generation, the cheapest, weakest console sells the most:
Gen1: NES beat a technically superior Master System, based on a strong launch lead and better game sales
Gen2: SNES beat a slightly more powerful Genesis, and both defeated a much more powerful and expensive Turbografx
Gen3: N64 and PS1 about tied. PS1 had better storage media, but the N64 was in fact better equipped with regards to processing power.
Gen4: PS2 soundly beats a much more powerful Gamecube. XBox enters late with middle-ground hardware, comes in second.
Gen5: Wimpy Wii massacres everything. XBox a strong second, while the PS3 "Home Supercomputer" falls short, although it may recover in the coming years, as Gen6 seems to be just an update of Gen5.
