In Metal Arms: A Glitch in the System there's a level where you travel through a bunch of transparent tubes. And when you're in these tubes HUNDREDS OF TINY, MECHANICAL SPIDERS COME FROM NOWHERE AND CRAWL THROUGH THE TUBE, latching onto you unless you were smart enough to bring a flamethrower.
Fucking horrifying.

It gets worse in Dead Space 3 when you're trapped with 2 of them in small room and the only way out is to shoot their limbs off and stasis them and hack the door leading out before they recover

i would absolutely love to play gex again but the games and most of my consoles got cooked in a house fire about 2 years back, so thats not a possibility
The chaurus in Skyrim really scared me the first time I saw them. I was in my first Falmer dungeon and went into a side-chamber in the cave, and saw something moving in the distance behind a rock. I was thinking "Oh hey, a mudcrab, it only makes sense since the Falmer wear mudcrab armor. 'Chaurus' must be this one's name. Let me just shoot it from here... oh, it didn't die yet, let me [I]OH MY GOD THAT'S NO MUDCRAB WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT THING[/I]"
I know it's not the scariest thing ever, but it's probably the most scared I've ever been from a non-horror game.
