what is iso i know nothing about cameras!!

iso is the film speed! the higher the number, the more sensitive to light the film is. most people will use either 200 or 400 speed film, for general daytime snaps.
you can go to 100 on a bright sunny day maybe (lower number because you don't need the film to be so sensitive) but shooting indoors normally needs at least 800, if not 1600. taking photos indoors is tricky anyway, especially in dark places like pubs.

you can also 'push' the film when you develop it to try and get better results but the film speed you shoot on is probably the most important factor.
