They don't, but I just got six bites (as far as I know) in my shitty garden and I'm allergic to mosquitoes, so I react very badly to bites. I decided to bleed them out rather than endure the swelling and itching.

Just put rubbing alcohol directly on the bites. It shouldn't sting as long as you didn't scratch too much.
In a few minutes the itching will stop.
Hm, I'm not convinced that anything externally applied will stem the reaction I have. Could you explain what rubbing alcohol does in this case, exactly?
