Dave Matthews http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_mathews He was one of the first artists to mix pop and folk together into one genre, and the result is excellent. Ants Marching (One of his best) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5t7xE8yovw4 (Copyrighted, No embedding) John Ondrasik http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Five_for_fighting He's one of my favorite artists, his songs are all profound, he's in the piano rock genre but he deserves to be in adult contemporary. World http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-kpR32B-Uk (Once again, no embedding) Patrick Monahan http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patrick_Monahan He's the lead vocalist of the band "Train", In my opinion, one of the best adult contemporary bands ever Drops Of jupiter (Tell me) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xXQFnIEf_Q Chris Martin http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_martin My favorite alt rock/pop singer, usually I can't stand pop today (Mielley Cyrus why did you do it? :frown:), but his brand of pop/alt rock is very enjoyable to me. Clocks http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5KkWGy7W3_o (Man these bands are serious with copyright issues) Gaybow storm for that pic of chris begins now.
^ Dave Matthew fucking sucks, in my honest opinion.^ Without Andrew Wood, we wouldn't have Pearl Jam R.I.P. Andrew
Sonic Youth! They're an experimental alternative rock band from NYC. Consisting of Thurston Moore, Lee Ranaldo, Kim Gordon, Mark Ibold and Steve Shelley. Thurston Moore Lee Ranaldo Kim Gordon Mark Ibold Steve Shelley Thurston Moore and Lee Ranaldo are rated 33 and 34 on Rolling Stones' best guitarists of all time. They experiment with many different tunings and effects, and incorporate feedback into their style. Vocals are done by Moore, Ranaldo, and Kim Gordon. Mark Ibold, former bassist with Pavement now plays with Sonic Youth also. They have over 25 albums, many released on their on Sonic Youth Recordings (SYR) album, because they were too experimental to release on their label. Jim O'Rourke is also pictured in the shot of Steve Shelley, and collaborates with SY a lot. I highly recommend this band, they're phenomenal. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CY5IEsms6ck Pretty normal http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdeTQPgh9SE some pretty good live footage http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QfdsgQEtsC8 getting weird...

Rody Walker from Protest The Hero EDIT: Why all the disagrees?
Jim Morrison because he's just fucking awesome. Keith Moon because he's fucking insane.
Anders "Blakkheim" Nystrom Awesome guitar player who founded the band Katatonia with Jonas Renske. Also has a one man black metal band called Diabolical Masquerade and is a guitar player in the death metal band Bloodbath. From Katatonia: From Diabolical Masquerade: From Bloodbath: Dan Swano Dan Swano. Dan motherfucking Swano. Pretty much the god of Sweden. He is an awesome vocalist, guitarist, bassist, drummer, and keyboardist. Not that is a multi-instrumentalist if I've ever seen one. He has contribute to a ridiculous amount of bands including being frontman of Edge of Sanity, Nightingale, Pan.Thy.Monium and various others. At other points he has been a member of such bands as Katatonia and Bloodbath, and contributor to Diabolical Masquerade. He as also released his own solo album where he does every single instrument. He is basically Rush if they played Death Metal.
Mikael Akerfeldt Is a vocalist, and also plays guitar, bass guitar, mellotron and the piano. [img_thumb]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/29/MikaelAkerfeldt.jpg[/img_thumb] he's an awesome guitar player, he's a comedy genius, he has a brilliant singing voice, and is a master of the growl. Seriously, he can do anything from this: to this:
Never heard of this guy before but I really liked those two songs. I laughed at how they all look like they've had the shit kicked out of them in the second video :v:

Deadmau5. He has been making good music for a while, and has achieved an absolutely meteoric rise to fame since 2007. He's an absolutely amazing producer, and a fucking amazing pioneer in modern DJing using ableton live. I am a DJ so I have major respect for what he does. Him doing his thing: Yeah. That's fucking zelda.

I find it such a shame that groups like BSE, who are one of the few producers of quality drum and bass, are so swamped by the masses of shitty dubstep and wannabe D&B bands at the moment. Gustav Mahler has produced some stunning symphonies and doesn't get nearly the air time he deserves.
